Sega have just launched a teaser site for a new rpg that hints at a possible Skies of Arcadia 2!
Nothing has been confirmed as of yet but the ship's wheel in the top left hand corner of the site seems to suggest a possible sea themed adventure or maybe pirate adventure!!?
Guess we will all just have to wait till the 20th august for more info, but i for one would be ecstatic if theres a sequel planned to one of my favourite rpg's EVER!!!

I'm getting sick of those countdowns and announcements of announcements, lately.
You're just getting hyped for things like SoA2, but then get disappointed by something that could have been a pleasant surprise without the teasing 
If its is Skies better pray it isn't a PSP only release like Valkyria Chronicles 2.
Probably just the "secret" new Phantasy Star Portable game for the PSP. Or perhaps Shining Force Gear for the wii.

It doesn't even look like SoA from the trailer. And that's a game I would not like to see a sequel to. I love it as much as the next person, but the world's been explored, the adventures have been had and there really isn't anything left to cover at all.

Each time there's a new RPG announcement from Sega, everyone starts dreaming about Skies of Arcadia 2 and each time they are disappointed. Guess it'll be the same for this new project, unfortunately.

! But yeah, as much as I would love, LOVE a SoA2, I highly doubt sega loves us that much and it would pobably come out with the new Jet Set Radio, Sonic the Hedgehog 4, and Shemune.
I agree with Wagomu, as much as I love SoA, and trust me, I do, I just don't see what else they could do without ruining it. I mean they could always have a new hero, and a new story with Vyse and the crew acting as support characters, But Sega hasn't had very good sense with ANY of the games they've put out in the past…um.... I dunno... 3 years?
I feel as though unless they got the old game producers on it, It'd be a flop.

-Make a plot hundreds of years later/before the original SoA.
-Keep the battle system and ships, but tell the story of a completely new world, impartial of SoA, just like other series like Tales of… and Final Fantasy

If you haven't, and you still have your disk, do it now. It still tickles me to this day.
But on topic, I can see many different approaches to the plot for a Skies sequel. There are many different games with sequels set in the same geography. It's all a matter of creativity. And I really don't mind if Enrique doesn't rejoin. That seasick little twerp can stay put in his throne for all I care.

Or you could just select the CD Music Player option on the Dreamcast and play it there. 
I did that with all of my games to see if there were any "PLAY THIS ON YOUR DREAMCAST, FOOL!" messages of any kinds.

I remember having only 3 games for Dreamcast: Skies of Arcadia, Soul Calibur, and KoF 99 Evo. Great times to live in, it was.

God, I would rather take a Shenmue 3 instead of a Skies of Arcadia 2, even if SOAL is one of my favorite RPGs (no, games).
If this is Skies of Arcadia 2, and if Overworks is in on it, I will buy this the day it comes out. Haven't been this excited since the news about PS0.

So there are still people who are hoping for a Phantasy Star V ? I'm glad to read it. The original series were great (I only played PS IV though, which is one of my favorite RPGs on the 16 bits systems).

It looks mostly the same but they've changed some things. It looks like PP is now linked to your character rather than the weapon. They are including some PSO enemies, such as the Evil Shark, and weapons as well.
I want to see Dark Force again…and a new Alis.

I can't wait till this is localized. I've played every phantasy star so far and i've loved every one of them.
Well, it's like PSU online (which I played too a lot), but a little bit improved. You can dodge attacks and something like that. New weapons, new characters, new outfits. Everything a PSU-fan wants. And the humans and newmans got something very powerful too (like the beast-form for beasts and the SUVs for Casts). The graphics are very good too, so it's supposed to be a really good game.

Oh and it's not coming out too late, I think. It's still this year or something. Dunno exactly xD
I think Japan is getting it in December or something. US and EU next year probably, though we are finally getting Phantasy Star Zero in November/December.
I'm not a huge fan of the Universe series but the trailer looks pretty good. I'm getting the first PSP game for Christmas along with my PSP.
