Nami Sandals

i have realized that the hardest part Nami#s costume is the sandals, I am a first time cosplay. IT HAS BEEN MY LIFE LONG DREAM TO COSPLAY!! :wub:
My friends cosplayed at the last convention and I felt silly, so this time I am going to be awsome any suggestions on getting good Nami sandals??

The gladiator sandals seem to be in this summer, so look around department and shoe stores. If not, then try to find some you can modify or add straps to. Take pictures on your phone or printouts of her sandals, might be a good idea to take reference so you know what to look for. And keep in mind you can always use shoe paint if you have to.

Ditto with what pirateneko said; gladiator sandals are absolutely everywhere this summer. Went into my local shoe shop, over 20 different pairs and I mused that one looked almost exactly like Nami's (Clicky to see).

Take off one of the three straps over the main body of the foot and it's as near as dead on, although maybe destroying some of the shoe for a niggling detail isn't worth it. Shame about the heels being a bit too low though. However, this doesn't exactly help if you don't live in the UK, but it's what you should be looking for :). Hope this helps!

TJ Maxx is where it's at. Just went shopping with my ma and she got 3 pairs of Gladiator/Nami sandals! Cheap too.

The only major inaccuracy with the gladiator sandals is that Nami's sandals have higher heels. And that is really hard to find… One thing I thought of doing is taking a pair of boots and cutting out the pattern and making the straps... sounds like a lot of work, but it might be worth a try someday

Thanks for all the advise. Lol yeah I know I should have put it only my other thread but….... I'm not that intelligent. Will try the galdiator sandals, I have to ask. Can you modify the heel so it can be higher, because like above, they are usually flats. Or is it a no no?

Might not be a good idea unless you are a cobbler XD

One thing you can do is find a pair of sandals with the chunky heel and straps, and you can take some of that fun foam (they sell sheets of it at craft stores) sew it on and sew on extra straps that you would need.
