Apparently on the newspaper to introduce the current coverstory, they only got the back of Sanji's head. Basically, the marines screwed up (again) and I am pretty sure Oda is gonna troll Sanji (I guess… again).

We haven't had ONE single one-on-one fight since Thriller Bark except for Luffy vs Magellan and some two-panel/two-page skirmishes that were too short to really being called battles. So I'm not sure what you're actually missing?

Mihawk vs. Luffy was a whole chapter or so IIRC, but then I guess you could say it doesn't really count as a fight for other reasons.

Since Hodi and VDD fell so quickly I don't think that will happen.

Probably not, but maybe two of the lesser strawhats will fight Hodi and Decken, and the stronger strawhats will fight some tougher villains who are still in the shadows.
It could happen in the next arc as well, i just want every strawhat to have his or her moment of glory.

Sure it has been said before-black or more dark skinned pirates like Kanhoji Angre from India(he wasn't that dark though). More Asian pirates too. Get a feeling Oda has mostly kept them for NW in order to give that part of the GL a more dangerously 'real' feeling among all the craziness that will be going on.
Characters modelled after sea deities. Who had lost to Neptune in his prime or something, & also had to back down on the surface in front of the power balance. Kept a low profile ruling some NW islands/kingdoms but have decided to re-emerge with the 2 year chaos. May not necessarily be pirates/after the OP, just control over the sea. Who knows what state the NW is in right now I hope that apart from Blackbeard/the rookies/Revolutionary army we will see some powerful threats to the existing order in the GL's 2nd half.

Ah, I'd like another hunting contest, like the one back in Little Garden. I don't care who's participating, but there has to be another one.
Also, for the anime, I'd like some more decent filler if they are going to head there. G8 would actually fit the story if it hadn't created a few plot holes.

This is kind of stupid and has nothing to do with the plot, but I would like for Oda to do another color spread that doesn't feature the Strawhats or at least not just the Strawhats. I remember there was a really cool color spread that featured CP9 as well as the Strawhats. Also, the ones featuring the Shichibukai and the Impel Down escape team were cool. For a while now, it has just been Luffy and crew lounging around, and I like those, but I think it would be cool to change it up a little. Maybe, since we are on Fishman Island, have a color spread featuring some cool mermaids and cool fishmen.

I wanna see a female character give Luffy the old boy treatment, and by that I mean beat his ass. I've seen this happen in my hometown quite a few times where a guy gets his ass beat by a girl. I wanna see a really strong female character have like a 2-3 chapter fight where she craps on Luffy, just to show he still has to grow and she's not a Yonkou but maybe like one of their captains or a decently ranked marine/navy person.

A casino in the new world with odds on who will find One Piece.
Basically, if some random citizen wants to bet his paycheck on who will become the pirate king, he should be able to. As Luffy moves forward, his odds improve and the amount of money that can be made by betting on him goes down. Half the island tore up tickets they had saved when Whitebeard died. I think such a system would be interesting by itself, but ultimately the idea appeals to me for a different reason.
That reason is contrast. The bounty system is great, and that's partially because it's an imperfect system (unlike stupid Douriki). Bounty numbers are decided by people who make mistakes. The only thing that could make it better is an alternate, equally flawed system to go with it. Bounties don't tell the whole story, but typically the reader will assume that the person with the higher bounty is more likely to win the fight. However, if one person has a higher bounty, and the other person has better odds to become pirate king, the matchup is immediately more interesting to the reader.

I think oda is just churning as many spreads with the straw hats with their new looks as he can. He will add variation when we all get used to it.
