We all know Digimon was animated by Toei. So was Sailor Moon. Toei managed to maked a live-action Sailor Moon Series. So I was wondering. Do you think they'll make a live-action Digimon series?
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

Live-action digimon? o.o
How would that work? Would the monsters all be in CGI? -
For the beast like digimon. But, the human like digimon would be costumes like in sentai.
-
I have seen Digimon live action shows in Japan. Who cares? Digimon kicks either way.
-
What where?
-
A live action Digimon film would SUCK!
-
Not a film, a series.
-
a series would be even worse. I like digimon with the best of them but even this is too far fetched to ever happen
-
Yeah, its actually a good anime if you can see it uncut. A sentai series dosen't really look as if it would work out though unless Toei used some damn sweet CG to make them look real and not like Duel Masters monsters.
-
So what you are saying is that a live-action Digimon series is a bad idea.
-
I think they're making a CG Digimon show in Japan. Dunno about live action though. It'd work better than a pokemon.
-
It's not really a bad idea if they can do it right. The humaniod monsters like War Greymon and Devimon could be played by actors in suits like Don Krieg said but for the rest they would have to do CG.

They do like Live action Digimon stage shows in Japan. I have some pictures…somewhere.

Hmm, despite how much I enjoy the first season of Digimon, I'd rather not see a LA Digimon series/movie. Something about it doesn't seem to tic right. Monsters in costumes or 3D in Live Action (or something like that). Anyways, sounds a little awkward to me if I saw something like that.
Oh, hmm….. I kind of doubt on a LA series. It wouldn't be that great of a hit I'm guessing they might think (or maybe I just think).

So it is a good idea?

You mean Digimon X-Evolution?
That aired as a special last January. It was awesome (mainly because of the return of Mummymon)

I've been meaning to see that. I hear it was very mediocore though.

Yes, very much so.
I wonder, will seasons 5 and 6 ever be made though. Last I heard, TOEI was still under contract to make them or are the rumors true and the contract was terminated?

I am hereby reviving this thread by asking now that Digimon Savers is over, should they do a toku now?
-
Whats Toku?
16 What is toku's?
-
I doubt it, Digimon Savers ratings weren't exactly encouraging.
And well, the super heroine appeal that Sailormoon had was clearly more suited for the typical japanese live action.tonitonichopper:

No. Tokusatsu are extremely cheesy and it would be really difficult to have a ton of monsters and humans interacting in a real-world situation. Sure computer technology has improved to the point of making it more feasable, but it still would look rather dumb. Rather keep the Digimon 2-D IMHO.
