Anybody else reading this manga/manhwa, I think its quite good. There are a lot of nice fights and fanservice.
Veritas

-
Yep its quite good. It has potential, I think it has a 60% chance of turning into a great manga and a 40% chance of turning into something mediocre.
But considering the fanservice it is "A" grade my friends. The chicks in this manga can level it out with the chicks at bleach.
-
glad I searched before I made a thread, but yeah… in my attempts to find something to hold me over while naruto and bleach STUNK, I came across veritas (and vagabond) but Veritas is easily becoming one of my favorite series... can do without alot of the fanservice (just learned what that meant since posting here, thanks guys) but overall this series goes hard.
-
Im loving veritas atm, sooo hope that honge's gonna get his ki abilities back now, and really want someone to kill that iron soul dick.
orriginal characters, interesting relationships looks to be an awesome manga.
Who r u all rooting for in the current fight?
-
This thread made me read those 40 chapters too. It was quite good for a quick read through. But in the end it quite reminds me of stuff like Tenjo Tenge, Ikkitousen & Air Master. It's a typical fighter manga at the border between shounen and seinen. I guess I'll check Veritas one every half a year or so to see if it is any better than the rest of its kind.

it's hard to root for anyone cause everyone kinda seems like a jerk.
-
How often is Veritas released? I read it 'cuz of this thread, and I have to admit, I'm kinda hooked.
-
The RAW's are a few volumes ahead. Scanlations still need to catch up. They are though, with a chapter every week or so. Sometimes two depending on the fights and [lack of] dialog.
-
well I read everything up on onemanga and I must say maybe its the cleaners but I thought the drawings were very good. And the girls are almost to angelic to even be attractive, like simply flawless.
-
this is kick ass, Honse is just awesome, some of the nicknames are weird though, Liquid Shark?
-
lol u gotta love honse
but I'm voting for mask man (sorri havent learnt all their names yet ) because I dont like the way she shook his hand to get a grip on him, but it seems like she has a trick up her sleave, judging by the way the masks getting cocky.
can't wait for the next chapter
-
new chap is one onemanga, what do you guys think the old guys condition for siding with vera was?, the one neither she or reunion can fulfill?
-
I'm very, incredibly grateful for helzone for pumping out these chapters. I'd give them a fruit basket if they'd pump out more of them.
(How often do you see women kick this much ass in a shounen? Rarely, if at all.)

Well, all the time? You just got to read one of those Fighting & Fanservice shounen, They are not that rare…

Ah. Sorry. I mean to say 'this vast number of women kick that much ass'.
-
Tenjo Tenge (at least three girls)
Ikkitousen (plenty)
Air Master (the main charakter)These are just the few I have read at least partly. I'm not overly interested in this kind of manga after all but I'd bet there's a few more out there. It is however quite hard to find them I admit. I tried looking for this kind of manga at ANN just now, and it didn't even give me the ones I mentioned. Even though they fit the criteria. Maybe ask at a forum with more diverse members if anyone knows more like those.
-
does anyone still like this series. i love it how it is right now
! Guesong….Yoon(creator of veritas) why did ya have to end it with him fighting Vera(Suicide). he was kicking so much of madoka's assehh the spoiler might sound like im complaining ,but i dont know when i am(just as much a joey cant hear that nah sound he makes). i digress i hope Gue doesnt get killed, and even if he does i will most likely think this manhwa is freaking awesome.
-
@Kaizoku's:
i hope Gue doesnt get killed
[hide]he's finished… He just got out of a heavy battle, vera probably just finished a latte[/hide]
-
Cool I just found this forum and I am suprised many people seems to enjoy veritas right now in Korea chapter 75 is out, and belieave me its really good, lot of suprises.
I am just thankful there are still a realy good Korean manhwa out there, because the korean manhwa market is pretty dead right now, This one is one of the best one and ALthough I dont think anyone translated it, but yongbi-bul-pae is also really good. -
This manga is so badass. Honse is awesome and Life Wish is such a bad ass looking technique. I love the way they did Judo in this manga too.

No.

Hina, Hancock, Nami, Robin, Conis.
yes.
-
Kicking ass.
Hina +1
Hancock +0
Nami +0
Robin +0
Conis -1The only one of those females that has been seen kicking ass is Hina who is pretty damn cool, but the fact that you even mention Conis makes you lose a point. Nami had 2 good fights and she was hardly kicking ass in either of them.
So as I said before,
No.

Wait, I think there's been a confusion. I understood kicking ass as in beating up people or acting cool while doing something heroic. Were you talking about the kicking ass as in physically hitting?
-
It is what you said as well as physical hitting. The guy said "How often do you see women kick this much ass?" That means fist to face or foot to ass.
Reevaluate each character you nominated and see just how many fit the description.

So only fist or foot to face count? Well I bet Hancock will be doing plenty of that soon enough:P
Oh and Nami hits the guys like all the time.
-
How can you call that kicking ass? The only ass kicker is Hina and, soon to be, Hancock. Two out of, god knows, how many.

What? She hits them on the head all the time.

How is this not kicking ass?:/ -
I quit.
-
Thousand Lion, are you trolling again? Oh you.

-
pls tell me honse is gonna get back into the fray, plus i wanna know what other techniques he developed as well as the half step.
plus what was up with sharpened sword?
-
ZKaiser means knock-down, straight-up ass kicking. Like Erza from Fairy Tail, or Maya from Tenhou Tenge, or Ryomou Shimei or Kanu Unchou from Tenho Tenge. Or all the characters from Claymore.
Generally in manga or anime women get the wussified fights where no real damage is done because they're girls and so you can't have them get hurt too badly or get too physical.

Wait a sec, in One Piece girls totally get hurt in their fights:/ nami got stabbed a bunch of times against Ms. Doublefinger and stabbed and kicked around a lot against Califa. Robin also got beat around a lot by Yama and by Jigorou and Dogpen in Thriller Bark:/ And that's only a small example from the top of my head.

I reject your evidence as I have done nothing but merely list and summarize exact facts.

You cannot reject evidence as you are the defendant.
Everything you say is being used against you an a room of Law.
Your last statement further proves against your innocence.
Cease and desist or action will be taken.

If I am the defendant, then where is my lawyer? And who is the prosecutor/plaintiff?
-
I am the prosecutor.
Trolls don't get lawyers.

An outrage I say!!! What happened to the legal system?!?

The legal system hates trolls, so it doesn't pander to them.

Yet the point in question of the trial is whether I am a troll. It's innocent until proven guilty!

You have a Hancock sig.
Have you no shame?

Hancock>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Perona
Perona's just a whiny bitch who mostly relies on her devil fruit powers. At least if Hancock's power is gimped, she has the fact that she's the best fighter in one of the strongest (if not the strongest) warrior nation in the world + her Haki!!!
…
OK, I think we should tart taking this to pms now:/

Bored, so I'm typing up an overlong response to what is probably trollin'.
First of all, yes, they get hurt, but they don't brawl. Their fighting styles don't count on them getting up close and personal with their enemies - that doesn't mean they don't kick ass, but they're given all the boobshield powers that most women in media get. At worst, they'll get hit with debris - generally they get knocked around, but only a little compared to what the boys go through. Maybe they'll get poked or stabbed a little, but it's not very serious.
Your examples don't actually serve to prove your point: they serve to prove mine. Compare Ms. Doublefinger versus Nami with Mr. 1 versus Zoro. While Mr. 1 drilled into Zoro's stomach, spurting blood everywhere, the worst Nami got was a few needles through the feet. Zoro got slashes that left him completely and utterly bloody. But you'll never see Nami bleeding like one of the men. You'll never see her almost chopping her own feet off to get free. Whenever she takes damage, it's never in the chest area, and rarely in the face. Certainly, she won't be taking a 4-ton bat to the skull, like Usopp does.
Take this:
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/411/13/
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/193/03/Honestly, Nami hasn't gotten hurt as badly since fighting Ms. Doublefinger, but even what she got then compared to:
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/195/09/
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/195/10/
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/195/12/
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/485/19/
…is nothing.Because people feel uncomfortable when they see women get hurt badly. So writers write around it.
Compare all the attacks the other Strawhats took in Enies Lobby versus Nami. Nami got tied up by tentacles and felt up by a dominatrix in skimpy clothes. Poked a few times, maybe. Compare that to the vicious beating Chopper took, or Usopp getting Juushiganned by Jyabura, or Luffy eating those Rokuougan.
Robin was abused pretty badly during Enies Lobby (to make us hate Spandam), but it's far above and beyond what she'll ever recieve in a fight. Even what she got in Thriller Bark was a light sentence (her getting beaten by Dogpen was even offscreen!). Everybody else, everybody who wasn't Nami or Robin, got smashed, crushed, flattened, battered, and when it came to attacking one of them, the attack was either averted or less brutal (see Robin getting her shadow stolen). Remember when Enel was taking out people in Skypeia? Even then, compare what Robin got (one tiny lightning bolt) to Zoro, Gan Fall, and Wiper.
Don't say it's "because their opponents were stronger." Of course their opponents were stronger - and because they're women, they get set up against less brutal opponents. Oh sure, the opponents have powers that give them the potential to be brutal, but we, the readers, will never see it. Robin and Nami will take mostly cosmetic damage while the boys will get knocked thousands of feet into the air, carved up, and set on fire.
The series I mentioned above, and others that have women that are less "delicate flowers," will see women dislocating their own arms, getting punched, thrashed, choked, stabbed - in Claymore people get regularly torn or cut in half, chopped to pieces, dismembered. Of course, there's still a degree of cheesecake involved - but women that actually get beaten and kick ass right back are far and few between in manga (at least non seinen manga).

http://www.onemanga.com/Fairy_Tail/112/19-20/…yeah. That's not to say that Nami and Robin aren't badass in their own ways (they are). But what they get is tame - and not because One Piece is a tame manga. It's because they are women. Veritas is a series that isn't so kind.
