I'm so disappointed. Stephen's translations where the only ones worth reading. I tried reading other fan-translations, but they leave much to be desired… and it wouldn't be the first time I would loose interest in a series because my favorite translator dropped.
I really wish he would reconsider... he was a boon. And, after a while... One Piece was the only thing he was translating, was it really THAT much trouble to get out 1 chapter script a week or so? I'm just bothered that he would just all of a sudden stop after 10 years. If not to translate for himself... think of all the fans dependant on his work.
Yeah, it might sound like I'm being selfish or something, but is just how I feel.
I do thank him for all the effort he's done so far, though. I really appreciate it and I most likely wouldn't have read up to current if it weren't for him.
But, I'm still kinda bitter inside.

I come here after like...5 months and....damn.
I don't know if you'll even read this, but you were (hell, are) my idol as translator.
My ideal...what I wanted to be when I "grew up".
Like many others here, I read your translations religiously...every time me and my bro checked the new OP chapter on Onemanga/AP/etc and found weird sentences, we'd always say "let's wait for Stephen and see".
I don't know how many times I thought "I hope I can be as good as you one day" when reading your scripts....the extensive vocabulary, the varied and unique speech that differentiated every and all characters. The clever way you managed the translation of puns, wordplays, etc.
Damn...just damn. I wish you good luck in everything, and then some.
