I installed it this morning, but now I can't find where it is on my Comp
Windows XP SP2

-
Go to Control Panel, find Add or Remove Programs icon and see its listed in the uninstall list. If you don't see it, try reinstall it.
-
It's on there, but I still can't figure out where it's being stored
-
why you wanna know that?
btw, there is a SP3, but i can't recall what it changes… -
I'm only installing SP2 so I can istall Windows Movie Maker 2.1
Unless there's some kind of Movie maker software that comes with SP3?
-
A service pack is part of the windows system, isn't it? No point seeing where it's being stored, not like you'd be able to do anything with the files.
-
If you installed it then it's now part of your Operating System.
Also, I don't know why you "only installed it for Windows Movie Maker". SP2 is the best Service Pack. It improves on SP1 and SP3 gives some people issues, and it's really just a collection of security updates. Worth having.
Windows Movie Maker, though, is a horrendous program that will eat system resources and crash every 5 minutes. Get a decent video editing program.
Now, if you've just downloaded it but haven't installed SP2, then it will be wherever you designate files to download, probably your desktop.
Edit: In case you're confused and still want to know where the service pack files go, that answer is: Everywhere. Your entire operating system has been updated. There isn't a separate folder for them, they update, replace, and delete older files, and once it's installed, it's not getting uninstalled. What, exactly, do you plan to do with it, or did, when you thought it was a folder?

Hmmm, now that I think about I'd like a new video editing software
but all the best ones cost (too much) money
Thanks for the help and all thoughEDIT: Does anyone know a Video Editing/Movie Making software I could download (for free)
-
I totally wish I kept SP2 on my old computer, when it first came out it made my computer freak out BAD so I uninstalled it so it would work properly again X_X Not a good idea in the long run….
Yeah it does show up in the add/remove programs folder where you can take it off >_> Atleast it did at the time. Not sure if that was changed when they fixed it to where it wasn't failtastic anymore.
As for good video editing software, naw I don't think there is anything GOOD (if at all) you can snag for free =X Anything that is above WMM quality is going to cost you a few hundred bucks.
I'm still, 2 years later, trying to get iMovie to work, its supposed to be so much better then WMM but its sooo not as user friendly =_= Upgrading my ram might help though...

What the hell, man?
If you're going to install a service pack, at least install the latest one.

Yeah, you can do that. It's called breaking the law; it's illegal.

Huh? I don't understand. Well, just download it. Piracy feels good. I doubt Sony gives a shit about 60$ (their piggy banks are already filled to their maximum).

Oh, oh, come on, don't act all innocent!
And do you think anyone cares? You're right, they do! But stopping piracy is impossible. But if you're willing to spend everything you have on a program that you'll probably use a couple of times and get bored of afterwords, then fine by me.
Oh, I hijacked. Sorry. Well, I still say that SP3 is more worthy of a try than SP2. I had both (now I'm with SP3) and I can freely say it's better. Well, actually the difference is barely noticable.

I would, but last I did, I got a whole bunch of other shit installed on my comp and plus the whole process of how it was to be dowanloaded and installed just confused and pissed me off (Keyholes, product codes and just a whole bunch of shit :getlost:)
