I had an AMV removed from youtube due to copyright violations from 東映アニメーション (Toei animation). After further investigation, it appears that Dragon Warrior's youtube account has been suspended, and the very popular AMV makers gia secando and junicookie have both had their accounts suspended as well. The rest of my account may only be a matter of time. I never knew that they even cared about this kind of thing.
Toei gone crazy?
-
-
Gia too? Holy shit! Is there a place where I could download his stuff atleast? I knew it was only a matter of time.
Now I cannot watch my favorite ones from my favs again.
-
Gia got canned? that sucks. his stuff was some of the best
-
Oh my. Were will I get my anime goodness??
-
Haven't they been removing AMVs and the like for awhile now? They catch up to everyone sooner or later.
-
My account (supernanny191) got suspended today as well!
-
teach you for wasting your time with that AMV bullshit.
-

Most AMV's in the past were removed by the music industry, rather than Toei, as far as I know.

Yea, i meant that in general that they have been on a crack down anyway whether it be music industry or toei. I'm sure there are other sites where you can post them and hide for a bit. One could almost make a Diary of AMV, the story of hidden AMVs in the attic of some site, hoping they aren't caught by the Nazi Music industry/toei. Such troubling times…
-
My account was suspended?
-
Your account is suspended…IN MID-AIR!
-
They deleted my english version of DBZ ending 2 and I have a feeling my DB Kai amv might be gone soon too…..my advice is to place all of the Dragon Ball/One Piece/Toei videos on private until this whole craze is over....
-
Wow, I just sent you a PM about this, and thought to check this thread. Same here. And a relatively obsolete older AMV of mine, to boot.
I do foresee a steamroller effect. I was hella surprised when I saw that it was Toei. I near fell out of my chair.
-
Alright if anyone wants giasecando's stuff look on IIGiaSecandoII channel, he has set up shop there for the time being. No telling how long it will last so have at it while you can.
-
Damnit, I don't make AMVs, I post Preview clips of FUNi's Dub, but they're hitting me now…
U_SZrUNA37A
-
You're the one who posts all those? Wow, thanks a bunch. I'm waiting for Alabasta before I start buying the DVDs, but it's really been interesting to see clips and hear the voices. Thanks! I'm still curious as to why you randomly capitalize things though…
Toei's lame. I mean, only two of my favorite's are offline, but it's still really too bad.
-
On another note you would think Toei would be done pissing all over the fan base of OP by this point. First they give the the dub to 4kids in america who shit all over it until its popularity only ranks high among 8 year olds. Then they finally make a smart move and give it to funi in its dying days. Now at a time when funi is doing its all to draw back all of the alienated OP fans who left during the days of 4kids and are actually making head way, Toei jumps in and pulls this crap. I swear the international legal department of Toei must be full of just plain stupid dirtbags. I will continue to support funi's dub, but screw whatever Toei produces directly for awhile I am tempted to just pirate that shit. They don't deserve my support until they clean up their act and actually care about their international fanbase.

Hey aren't you the one who did Project Piece? Damn, I thought Gia was just the unlucky one. Maybe I'll have to try downloading youtube videos…
-
As a note to everyone who uploads One Piece stuff to youtube. I've been looking into this more over the last few days. I do not believe that Toei had any intentions of going after AMV's. I think they went through and attacked names that they believed to be uneditted clips of the show. For example, the AMV that I had removed was named "Luffy vs Zoro" which could be mistaken for a simple clip of one of their two fights, instead of an AMV.
Many of my other AMV's are far easier to find through the search function, and remained untouched. Looking at the other people I know of who got hit, they could also be victim of such misfires.
My suggestion is to avoid any names that a Japanese Toei representative could mistake for an uneditted repost of a fansub/raw. They may have also been attacking dubs, so you guys should especially be cautious of how you name your videos.

Yep, that was me. Hopefully I'll get them back up soon

I'm gonna go ahead and second this theory- I had another AMV kicked off YT today, and it had a character name in the title, easily searchable. All of my other stuff is named a touch more vaguely, so… Yeah. Oh well. Not like we're getting paid for it.
-
Well crap, I've been noticing my favorited AMVs disappearing. I hate it too because most a couple of them I hadn't favorited were easy to find since they had a couple million views too, I mean I can understand removing episodes and episode pieces but AMVs shouldn't be taken off, that seriously must suck for those people who had their views and favorites and such upwards into the millions.

Before anyone here goes crazy, how sure are you that it is actually Toei doing the flagging? As far as I know, ANYONE can flag ANY video and say they have a copyright claim. I remember all the people complaining that 4kids was removing Funis videos.
SURE THEY WERE…
It might just be an issue where you have to discuss it with Youtube. They don't want to worry about any legal action being taken, so they will remove videos right away without even inspecting what they are or if the claim is real.
-

It's the somewhat random nature of the removal, that makes me think it's probably legit. AMVs with character names in the titles, and show specific references. Not easily found videos, or the most viewed, or videos some crazy dedicated troublemaker would find personally offensive.
It could just be some asshole, but my money says it's probably Toei.

When you have a video removed, you receive a note from youtube about who made the claim, etc. The two that I had removed were based on copyright disputes from 東映アニメーション (Toei Animation) specifically.
I guess it's possible that someone is posing as them, but it seems rather unlikely to me.
-
Yeah, seems like every AMV is going down.
Demon Warriors' amv's are going down every time he uploads them.
The Project Piece series was probably down for at least 2 times, iirc.
Gia Secando resisted a lot, probably because he's spanish, but now its affecting him too.
Owned Piece is surviving, though. The only one that will be safe forever is the "This is One Piece" amv (The best AMV for One Piece I know, and only Sail On and the best of Gia Secando, Demon Warrior and another guy I forgot the username can compare to the awesomefest that is "This is One Piece"), probably because its featured in Youtube due to its quality.
But yeah, my suggestion would be to upload them again and keep giving a download link for the fans like me that want to hear it one day or another.
There's not much we can do otherwise, because anyone can flag a video and Youtube will eliminate it if they find something copywright about it.
-
Anyone have a link to Download Gia's
-Strawhats vs Oz
-Luffy vs Lucci
-Ussop vs Perona
-… The one with all the the fights with Kizaru and the Pasiftas
-ThrillerI know someone posted them before in the YT comments, or somewhere else
-
I know this is a thread about Toei taking down the videos, but I noticed something really strange on my account just now.
On my old account, Funimation took down one of my Project Piece videos due to copyright (this was before the whole thing got suspended). HOWEVER, when I was looking through the videos on my new account, Funimation has made another claim on one of my AMVs, but it's still being allowed to show online
Any thoughts?
-
I do believe that means Funimation is claiming your video should be deleted, but Youtube has yet to accept the claim and actually delete it.
-
so much for "fair use" :getlost:
-
my account got deleted about a month ago :cwy:
i still can't believe itI so enjoyed doing One Piece AMV's and now this… it's like I'm not allowed to do one of my favorite hobbies

Take this with a grain of salt:
At the Team Four Star panel of Youmacon some guy, who said he had "inside information" said that:
"Toei is going bankrupt because of the economy and piracy of it's material in America and Japan so they've told Youtube to take down all full episodes and clips from episodes and that's it. They never meant to go after parodies and AMVs but the unfair hand of Youtube simply sees that a clip is uploaded and deletes the vid."

I am not sure, but if that's the case then only full episodes should be deleted. (even though non US people like me can't access FUNimation's video :ninja:).
-
hey, i noticed that the one piece amvs made by people from Germany, United States and some other countries don't have copyright problems. How come?
I know that in Germany they are showing One Piece on TV, so could that be the case, that the country bought One Piece episodes? -

it's highly unlikely to go bankrupt,if you have
the most popular anime in Japan(one piece)
& highly merchandise precure/prettycure
and they still have Kai
and now one piece movie 10
for me they're just money hungry peeps, richest bastards out there
change title thread to this(Funimation gone crazy)
they even got sentai & movies Toei is a big time company -
One Piece is not the most popular anime in Japan…

yup.
Toei shouldn't be worried, I won't skip buying one piece legally by watching AMVs
-
One Piece is not the most popular anime in Japan…
One Piece is the most popular anime/manga in Japan overall
like Koji Nakajima said, best selling animation & manga,
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/launch-featurette-one-piece/57651
OP anime/manga sells are superior until now,
1 decade anime/12 years manga
& also OP episodes TV ratings, most of the time on rank 1 to 5 every week
naruto shippuuden most of the time barely reach rank 9 or 10 and the same with bleach(under rank/mediocre)
naru reach rank 7 with their recently canon episode 1 single week
bleach didn't even reach top 10 rankings, bleach is always under rank
at the start(this 2 anime)they're doing great,after 3 years from their original run,they can't keep it up
Japan & US(very different)I made this thread because Toei was taking down AMV's. Not Funimation.
for me Funimation is crazier than Toei,
even fan made/amv s/ep/clips etc.videos they'll delete it and most of the time it says copyright Funimation -
It's the most popular manga sure but the anime rarely cracks top 3 in ratings.

October 5-11 One Piece rating top 2

I think almost all of my AMVs are gone, first a couple were claimed by a music company, then funimation brought down all the FMA ones.
This is ridiculous, but like it was said it probably has to do with the fact they see a clip and delete it, not actually watch it and see that it's an AMV or parody. It's probably a waste of time but it would be nice if someone could write up something to youtube explaining that parodies (amvs too??) fall under fair use. And some lazy asshole from toei or funi would verify it.
Same with the music thing, the music industry is so fucking huge that it's not going to kill it if a small percentage of people rip their music from youtube. Most people aren't smart enough/savvy to figure out they can do that.
Maybe one day there will be a youtube for AMVs/parodies, that would be nice XD

October 5-11 One Piece rating top 2
I said rarely, look through some other ratings and it's like 4,6,3,5,8

you just said that,it can't barely/rarely crack top 3,it's just a response for your second reply/quote
that's why I said(most of the time)1 to 5 rank
one piece primetime is still better ratings, even they've changed one piece time slot,it's still up there 1~5 most of the time,
but it didn't affect overall popularity of one piece -

Toei is a Japanese film & television production, stockholder in several television companies, they have sentai shows, movies,TV shows, dramas, theaters etc.Toei is a big time company,
Toei isn't only animation,Toei is also a shareholder of Animax & Sunrise etc.they have other popular anime,
precure(earning $ more than naru)dragon ball kai,and a new series
thriller restaurant always on top ranks, more more popular than anime s americans love,
if your shows(always most popular/in demand)there's more sponsors=tons of casheven Dragon Ball in 1986 to 1997 is not always on top in ratings, but that time dragon ball is still the most popular overall, like one piece now

What? You're YoukaiRin. Awesome! Nice to get a preview of the FUNi dub. . Anyways, on topic Toei is deleting a lot of accounts and amvs.
-
Seems Toei is deleting anything..including CD songs( AMV of one of sanjis songs is gone from my favs) .. a bunch of fan made parodies and more.
