So I ordered 1st volume of One Piece manga not long ago and should receive it tomorrow. I bought it on eBay and cost me ~8 pounds total(shipping included). I wonder if there are any online shops where I can buy the manga and avoid ridiculously high shipping prices. For example the volume costs 7$ but shipping 20$. That is just insane. eBay at this point seems cheaper but I can't find all the volumes there. Don't say read online cause it just bores me. I prefer having manga right in hands. So are there any online shops with reasonable shipping costs?
Where do you buy manga?

I've got a wonderful little comic store where I live, and it's £5.99 a Tankobon, but it's 2 for the price of 3 - Result!
For y'all Brits, Waterstones sells a lot of Tankobon at about £6 too, and that's Shonen, Shouja, and a load of OEL-Manga if you're into that kinda' stuff.

I don't have any international stores by where I live, so I buy mine on the internet. A website called Yesasia sells One Piece manga for about $7 plus maybe $2 or $3 shipping. I also bought a 40 pack of One Piece manga for around $200 (:ermm:) from a website called Sasuga Book Store.

I just buy the tankoubans at Kinokuniya, my local Japanese bookstore.

in germany you can get most of the series and volumes in a normal bookstore, is it that different elsewhere? (except japan of course) costs 5€

Yeah, I'm in America and I can get the volumes at the bookstore…if it has them (my local one never does :cwy:)

ooo believe me it's different around the globe.
For example in my local bookstore we have one manga title, D-Gray-Man volume 11, just look, no we don't have v1 or v3 or v8 we have v11
muhaha -
It's similar to that in America; usually if I'm looking for a particular volume I head over to Barnes & Noble, and before we moved Borders was a favorite haunt of mine. So far, though, Books-a-Million and its other store seem to have the largest manga collection (it's pretty substantial o_o). However, if I'm buying more than one book and it's more expensive in the store (like with Kitchen Princess, which is almost over as it is, but the books were $10.95 and now $10.99 rather than $9.99), I'll sometimes just order it on Amazon… I say "more than one book" because of the "orders of $25 or more get free shipping" thing.
EDIT: looks like threedayslater beat me to the punch o.o

onemanga.com : )
In all honesty, Ebay ftw.

Barnes & Noble around me has a full aisle for manga…actually there are 2 near me, both with an aisle for manga. I get them for $6.40 each. At B&N if you have a relative in education there's a 20% dicsount if they have their card w/ them. So if you've got a relative who will go w/ you to the bookstore, it would be worthwhile. The member cards are $25 a year, but they give you a 10% discount on everything...so if you buy more than $250 per year worth of stuff, it's worthwhile.

Which is why I'm saddened by the lack of closeby Borders stores… there's one but it's not that close. You don't have to pay to be part of their rewards program... T_T

Amazon. .

get my stuff at booksamillion and barnes and noble….Berserk is currently perking my interest. so i been buying the hell outta it.
-
Akadot online. That's also where I get my drawing supplies.

Try secondhand book shops. The one here sells most English volumes for 4-5USD (instead of 8-12), and sometimes they have things which can't be found new easily due to age or "it's no. 16 of a series of 92"

I think burrower's british given he's mentioning paying in pounds and unfortunately, it's rare to see manga in a 2nd hand bookstore here. Amazon is the best bet online to avoid shipping charges.
Otherwise, in london there's a a few shops that sell sizeable amounts of manga - orbit, gosh, and forbidden planet.

i mentioned pounds because the price was listed in pounds. I am not british. I am from Latvia and there are no such shops or bookstores with manga in the whole country. Maybe there is 1 or 2 in whole country somewhere underground….in unknown location...
