Was it ever stated which DF Boa Hancock has?
Because a snake, snake Fruit, Model Medusa - wouldn't suprise me anymore.
And it fit's her personality perfect.
Chapter 554 "Admiral Akainu" Discussion
-
-
@ysn:
Whitebeard is mostly fucked however strong he is as he has too few people. Even if his division leaders are equal to the admirals they are too few and that is without the Shichibukai. If it hadn't been for Blackbeard's betrayal Whitebeard would have three more admiral level fighters - Ace, Blackbeard and the guy he killed. Loosing those three cuts Whitebeard's strength almost in half and there is no chance he can win.
Yeah… no, there are 16 division commanders. So, white beard has 14 commanders and himself as top tier brawlers in shape. Besides, blackbeard without his fruit didn't had a chance against the admirals, his brutal strength and cunning wouldn't be enough to stop them.

So, is there any remaining character of importance in this war that we don't know anything about ? (well, SenGoku and Dofla at least)
I don't think we have to see much more of the war, we had a good impression of everybody's power, we know that Luffy & Co are not in the same league. Maybe it's time to switch to something else, story-wise ? -
Know whats funny? I remembered Buggy wants to take down Whitebeard. These last few chapters have just made that seem so impossible, if he's made somehow responsible for Whitebeard's downfall it's gonna be hilarious
-
i would rather have the war be done and over with than skip it.
-
I'm still curious what show blackbeard is going to pull. And if he was responsible for opening the gates, meaning him having allies at marineford itself.
-
Oda making shit go down
and question after seeing all this who still believes lufy will be a major fighting forceLuffy defeated both Moria and Crocodile. He has the brute strenght to fight other shichibukai. The only thing he needs is to learn how to use Haki the way Rayleigh did when he fought Kizaru. And who knows, maybe he gets so angry that he activates that type of Haki and manages to fight equally with Kizaru.
Luffy is the main character, Oda won't make him look like a pathetic weekling in this war. Although his intentions are only to rescue Ace, I doubt it will be a grab and a run moment, he will destroy everyone who stands in his path. But then again, he has always ran away from Smoker, and he is knows that he can't defeat Kuma and Kizaru yet. So I am sure he isn't going there without a plan. If he doesn't have one, I am sure Jinbei has one.
So after 1-2 more chapters maybe we'll see Luffy show up at the war scene, and he'll proceed to rescue Ace. Maybe a fight to have him awaken his haki, although I think Oda will save this for a later arc. Probably BB shows up to defeat WB, Luffy makes it off with Ace (with Boa's help or so) - the crew unites at the ship and we're off to Fishman Island :)
grrrrrrrrrrrr, I have read the chapter over and over, and I can't find anything about BB :(
It would be pretty foolish of Blackbeard to show up. Whitebeard wants him dead and he betrayed the marines. He has no allies. BB told his crew not to attack Ace, so they aren't the best ones, except their newest Impel down prisoner member. If Whitebeard dies in this war, then the Fishman Island arc would be interesting, since it belongs to Whitebeard. Meaning that people will try to go there to capture the mermaids and stuff. And the Straw Hats would be there to save the day.
and oh man, Zorry and Sanji are really gonna have to become way more powerful to compete with Whitebeards crew. Zoro is on a good path right now. But he would need Haki to able to fight Logia users.
I'm still curious what show blackbeard is going to pull. And if he was responsible for opening the gates, meaning him having allies at marineford itself.
If BB wants Whitebeard to die in this war, why bring more reinforcements for Whitebeard?
-
And who knows, maybe he gets so angry that he activates that type of Haki and manages to fight equally with Kizaru.
No, this won't happen.
Luffy is the main character, Oda won't make him look like a pathetic weekling in this war.
Funny, I remember hearing the same thing during Impel Down.
he will destroy everyone who stands in his path. But then again, he has always ran away from Smoker, and he is knows that he can't defeat Kuma and Kizaru yet.
So which is it? He can destroy everyone or not?
So I am sure he isn't going there without a plan.
If he doesn't have one, I am sure Jinbei has one.
Sorry, which one are you sure of?
-
Poor failhawk. Doesn't look like he's going to be able to cut diamond since Jozu is to busy looking badass.
And you could blame Bad writing on your precious Oda Eiichiro if Mihawk can't cut diamond. All that hype and build up down the drain
-
Luffy defeated both Moria and Crocodile. He has the brute strenght to fight other shichibukai.
Luffy lost to Crocodile twice in a row and was brought back through luck and a traitor in Croc's army.
And he only beat Moria because the Rolling Pirates has all those captured shadows.
Without any of those things what makes you think he can beat Shichibukai who are probably stronger then the likes of Croc?
It took the whole Strawhat Crew to bring down ONE Pacifista, and that was a weaker dumber version of Kuma. The only thing he needs is to learn how to use Haki the way Rayleigh did
Oh is that all?
Then he won't be winning because no way in hell will he fight on Rayleigh's level any time soon.when he fought Kizaru. And who knows, maybe he gets so angry that he activates that type of Haki and manages to fight equally with Kizaru.
Luffy is the main character, Oda won't make him look like a pathetic weekling in this war.
On the contrary, because Oda is a good writer he definitely will. Luffy will pick targets he can handle (maybe one Vice Admiral at tops).
Even if does end up fighting a Shichibukai it would be the only fight he has, he would be finished after it even if he won.THIS WAR IS NOT ABOUT LUFFY.
Serioulsy.
Although his intentions are only to rescue Ace, I doubt it will be a grab and a run moment, he will destroy everyone who stands in his path.
You're fucking delusional lolll. If you want to see this kind of awful shit go read Naruto and watch Sasuke do his bullshit. This isn't how One Piece works because it's actually good.
I mean goddamn, saving Ace didn't stop him from being steamrolled by Magellan and you think even stronger people are gonna be destroyed in his path?
So I am sure he isn't going there without a plan. If he doesn't have one, I am sure Jinbei has one.
As does Crocodile.
It would be pretty foolish of Blackbeard to show up. Whitebeard wants him dead and he betrayed the marines. He has no allies.
Aside from the entire Marine/Shichibukai armada, but I can see how you overlook things liek that given your predictions thus far.
I also can see why you've apparently missed on all the Class A criminals in Impel Down swearing death on Whitebeard, and Blackbeard, a man capable of holding whole villages in his personal hammerspace power is heading down toward them… -
Phoenix why are you trying to dupe fanboys? And yeah I see a Luffy vs. Smoker. Luffy wins after a hard fight then Smoker vows to take him in the new world.
-
Fucking edit function.

Ooooh, I know, I know about this one.

If you think defeating croc and Moria the way he did puts him on par with the top guns in the war then you may be disapppointed
For the majority of these guys we've seen brute strength isn't gonna be enough alone

Don't really see Luffy having choice on who he fights., It's all a question on who's in his way. If he gets someone big that he can't get past, he's screwed.

Haki will use haki and haki will other haki when he sees the haki the comes from his haki dying. Haki's anger will power his haki to beat up other haki.

Why so many ppl cant wait for luffy to enter the battle with so many interesting ppl already in the war.
Personaly i want to see the new characters interuct.Or some old ones who havent seen for a while(Smoker etc) -
grrrrrrrrrrrr, I have read the chapter over and over, and I can't find anything about BB :(
It would be pretty foolish of Blackbeard to show up. Whitebeard wants him dead and he betrayed the marines. He has no allies. BB told his crew not to attack Ace, so they aren't the best ones, except their newest Impel down prisoner member. After the chapter there were 4 pages with recaps (format of a newspaper called Grand Line Gazette or something), that weren't included in most scanslations. The first page was about BB, and had a title that was something vague about the war and BB, could be a hint he is getting involved. There was also a picture on that page of BB sitting next to Doflamingo. (that was in Marinford at a table with the other shichibukai, before BB left for Impel Down, but this picture showed just the two of them) Can be another small hint that they're in cahoots, and that it was maybe Doflamingo who opened the gates of justice for BB to make his entrance later.
Oh and adding Shiryuu to his crew was incidental, we don't know the real reason BB went to ID yet. Maybe he wanted to add a few more real powerhouses from level 6 to his crew. But yeah there are also vague clues Dragon might show up - repeated comments about a strange wind, etc. So who knows what will happen..

I really love this past chapters, this gigantic and unrealistic brawl where everyone has something to show, freaking lasers, earthquakes, phoenix, magma fist and shit everywhere! The use of spreads alse gives this "unique" feeling to the moment, pretty much shure when it comes to a volume will break the sales records…
Luffy will arrive at the end of this volume (I hope) and personally expect him to make someting important, maybe something that doesn't involve kicking important dudes ass (Like in Impel Down) but he surely help someway to Whitbeard cause...Also the last Blackbeard info made me realize that even if Teach didnt set up all this War, this War is set up for Teach to shine!!!

What people need to realize is that this series isn't called "Monkey D. Luffy" or "Strawhat Pirates", it's called "One Piece". Granted, the Strawhats are the main characters, but it doesn't necessarily mean the world revolves around them. The main focus of the plot is the titled treasure itself, "One Piece", which people have been fighting over long before the Strawhat Pirates were even born (well, most of them, anyway). That's what makes One Piece so much better than some of the other Manga out there; Luffy isn't central to things happening in the world. There are things going on that are beyond his control and are happening parallel to his adventures. The Supernovas, the Shichibukai replacement, the War going on right now… It's like reading a fantasy novel about a thief or a knight. The protagonist of said novel isn't omnipotent in his fantasy world; rather, he's just along for the ride. It's silly to think that Luffy is going to single-handedly change the direction of this war. Will he be a part of it? Certainly. A significant part? Maybe, maybe not. The turning point for it? I doubt it. He's just along for the ride.

So now that mythical beast fruits have been confirmed, with the abilities of the mythical beasts that they represent…
Does this mean that Monkey D. Dragon has a Dragon fruit, along with its mythical weather controlling abilities (read that somewhere about eastern dragon myths)?
And perhaps the Dragon is the most powerful mythical beast fruit?
(Was this mentioned already?)

Yeah it was mentioned already, I don't buy it though. If a dragon did come along it would have traditional fire breathing most likely.
-
Dragons in OP verse do not breath fire.

Common fire breathing dragon!!! he manage to elude the WG so he should have some awesome power. Fire breathing sound so uncool for the "Worst Criminal in the World"

Ur thinking of the european dragons. From what little I remember about the 5 Sacred Beast I learned about in my high school japanese class and various animes…The dragon is supposed 2B blue and has control of the water and the weather. It is responsible for the many storms that take place in Spring and is supposed 2protect the east. I think the 5 sacred beast will end up being R mystical zoans.
The 5 Sacred Beast were:
-The Blue Dragon of the east and spring
-The Black Tortoise of the south and fall
-The Red Bird(Phoenix) of the north and summer
-The White Tiger of the west and winter
-The Golden Monkey of the center or middleAt least I think those were the 5 beast.
=D -
^It's not gonna be exactly like that if Oda does it. Seeing as the phoenix is blue
-
Red-Haired Shanks (Suzaku)
White-Hair (Stache/Beard… hair is hair) Newgate (Byakko)
Black-Hair (Or Stache) Kaidou (Genbu)
Azure-Hair Unknown (Seiryuu)And for Ouryu (Golden Dragon)? Dragon. Duh.
Just a guess, but if Kaidou has a Black or Azure theme, that'll cement it. The 5 Guardians don't necessarily all have to be people in the form of mystical Zoans. I wouldn't rule out a Dragon or a Adamantoise Zoan thus far, but it seems a little early to call.
-
Black-Hair (Or Stache) Kaidou (Genbu)
Azure-Hair Unknown (Seiryuu)Nah we already got black for BB.
Don't know how Oda's gonna do it but there's still green, gray, orange, and blue out there to use. Don't know what other parts of bodily hair he'll use for these nicknames tho.
Never liked "Red-haired" when the motherfucker walking around with scars on his face. Ol Rurouni Kenshin look alike.

Remembers every Pokedex entry ever for Dragonair
Definitely a possibility.Anywho, I realize there's no way to know, but does anyone think there's a good chance of Akainu appearing in the next color spread? I was just remembering the awesome Shichi one, and the last one we had was a boring SH one…
I just really need his color scheme.
<_<_>
-
That'd be cool but it'd probably be a versus color spread like Marines Vs. WB pirates.
-

Good Point. I almost forgot about that.

Oh yeah, those were the beast alright. I wonder where I got the whole golden monkey from???
Oh, well I think U might B onto something there my friend. Lets C the yonkou R seen as almost complete equals as were the sacred beast but among the beast the White Tiger was seen as the greatest threat and only the Azure Dragon was said 2rival its power….As for the Golden Dragon it was said 2B the most powerful beast representing the earth itself until it flew into a void in the sky. Its element was also known as void.
Going by the logic of Fire-Fist Ace its possible that the Golden Dragon is actually Gold Roger. But I don't think the Golden Dragon ever died though.
=D -
I thought dragon's name would guarantee that he WOULD'NT have a dragon fruit. Then I read the weather control post…

He probably declared himself that and started his pirate crew B4 ever having fought BB. As Red-Haired Shanks and the Red-Haired Pirates he had become well known and he wasn't gonna change his nickname by then. Though he must've changed his jolly roger. Or maybe he didn't make a jolly roger until after becoming a somewhat well known pirate kinda like Luffy.
=D -
and we will get chinese and watch tv, thats the way spoilers apear in a sexy way

=DThe new theory is that Shanks got the scar while he was on Roger's crew around the same time BB was on WB's crew which would make sense. Keep in mind Shanks had the scar 10 years ago.
Plus I like this theory.
-
My friend had a theory, or rather pointed out something rather curious from the recent chapters.
There's this character popping up that he thinks could be Garp revealing his fruit power, here's him cut out of the panels:
At first I thought the theory was dumb, then I thought about and i realized two things: One, that he's with the other vice admirals, and two, the head resembles Garps mask he used to wear.
I'm not going either way on this one, but it was interesting to think about.
(if you feel like you've read this before… you may just have... lol)
-
It's bad for several reasons.
But like the awful theory years ago about Sanji being some random guy in a crowd of carpenters, it's because something that big, Garp's power, and for that matter Garp's entry into this battle given his feelings on it, would not be some face among a crowd.
-
Yeah the whole thing about Garp being important is the main reason that the dog man is most probably not Garp. It just doesn't work from a story telling point of view to have him in the background. Also I really don't want Garp to be some dog DF user I want him to be the crazy loud guy who fights by throwing around cannon balls. Personally given the fact that WB himself mentioned Garp in his talk makes me think that Garp might be one of the people who end up fighting WB himself.
-
I think Doflamingo will control Oars Jr. and go on a rampage.
-
Random question… Is Akainu's design supposed to be after some real world person (like Borsalino who is based on Kunie Tanaka)?
Because his appearance seems really absurd by One Piece standards, he doesn't look like he's of that world lol.
-
The chapter is so short. :( 15 pages, minus chopper's cover story, then divide by 2, become 7. There are only seven screen shots on the war. :(

Yes, majority says Bunta Sugawara, others think Noborou Ando.
