all I wanna know is where is the Legend of Tingle already
There was a Tingle game. Tingle's Rupee Roseeland or something. Years ago.
-
After getting a nice amount of time into the game, I can really appreciate the motion controls and striking an enemy where they are supposed to be hit. The second time I played the calibration was off and the lady didn't seem to know what I was talking about so I just dealt with it. But the first time through I really enjoyed the ease of play, slashing the sword, rolling bombs and so on. I found my self wanting to make certain strikes such as a completely strait up verticle strike, but kept on doing 45 degree angle strikes. I then started looking at my hands, and thought "oh I'm swinging it wrong" so that instantly made me feel better about it.
I had a good time holding the remote upward or sideways ready to swing a flying slash or what not, I thought it played fantasticly! And the more I looked at it the more I realized how pretty it was. My first glimps was a super huge blown up big screen, made it look really ugly.

know what i just realized when thinking about ocarina of time for 3ds
there is a really good chance we get like updated music. not changed, but you know like orchestrated ocarina of time music or something. omg that would be amazing. i really can't think of any game with better music than ocarina of time
and i hope they add stuff like they did mario 64 for the ds. Like you know instead of giving you the first light medallion make a new dungeon for it or something. Like to tie in with the new zelda for wii, and twilight princess sky island, have some sort of a sky dungeon. that would fit good with a light medallion for somewhat theme

That would be cool and have a more crisp sound to it, and perhaps add a layer of realism, but personally I hope they keep the original music, because that exact music brings back a LOT of childhood memories that I adore. It's part of the reason I like OoT, the music just throws me back and I instantly feel happy ^_^
I may prefer that way, but whatever option they do, I'm sure I'll be fine with it.
-
yea i want same music, same themes and all that
just saying its like going from one person playing piano to a whole orchestra playing.
its still zelda's lullaby, or song of storms, ect. -
@robbybedfart:
The fact that, in order to create a continuity, you have to justify a whole mess of the games by going "Uhm… split reality and alternate continuity here!" and the fact that the game designers had no plan themselves, just proves its a mess and not worth worrying about. Aside from direct sequals, they're self contained. That works and its simple.
No one tries to figure out the order the Final Fantasies take place in.
And Okami is still the best Zelda game in recent years.
Four days ago but w/e, while I agree with you somewhat I just wanted to mention that it isn't so forced as you make it sound because if you played and beat OoT then you should understand the significance of Adult Link being sent back to live out his child years and the scene of him remeeting zelda in the past but now he has the triforce of courage on his hand. It's a fairly simple concept, Adult link sent back in time to live out his life as he should have= new child timeline, the world of adult Zelda that adult link left behind= adult timeline. This is how both Majora's Mask and Wind Waker are both direct sequels to OoT, and the split was confirmed by Eiji Aonuma who directs the series:
THE WORLD A HUNDRED YEARS AFTER THE PEACE RETURNED TO HYRULE
–When does Twilight Princess take place?
Aonuma: In the world of Ocarina of Time, a hundred and something years later.
–And the Wind Waker?
Aonuma: The Wind Waker is parallel. In Ocarina of Time, Link flew seven years in time, he beat Ganon and went back to being a kid, remember? Twilight Princess takes place in the world of Ocarina of Time, a hundred and something years after the peace returned to kid Link’s time. In the last scene of Ocarina of Time, kids Link and Zelda have a little talk, and as a consequence of that talk, their relationship with Ganon takes a whole new direction. In the middle of this game [Twilight Princess], there's a scene showing Ganon's execution. It was decided that Ganon be executed because he'd do something outrageous if they left him be. That scene takes place several years after Ocarina of Time. Ganon was sent to another world and now he wants to obtain the power…
So whether it wasn't planned from day 1 or was retconned is irrelevant, this is how the story goes according to the director of the series.

I'm sure Zelda's handlers are making things up as they go along.
-
Good for them.
Way it should be.
-
I'm sure Zelda's handlers are making things up as they go along.
Of course, the story mostly just serves as a backdrop for the gameplay and to add an extra layer of appreciation (I found the window paintings of the Sages from OoT in the Hyrule castle of Wind Waker to be pretty neat). My point was just that although Zelda games may seem to be self contained, they aren't according to the creators, and although it's cheesy and dorkish it just gave me a little appreciation for what was going on in some of those seemingly meaningless cutscenes and in game story elements after finding out that they connect the games.
-
So what are the odds Ganon will be in this game.
-
So what the odds Ganon will be in this game.
I have faith that they will introduce an entirely new and more interesting villain than Ganon… Then it will turn out that Ganon was controlling him the entire time.
-
Gannon doesn't even exist in this game, the master sword doesn't exist yet either.
-

Yeah rumor is that it will explain the origin of the master sword similar to how OoT explained the origin of Ganondorf so the game would precede OoT "storywise".
-
Time traveling Ganon.
-
Time traveling Ganon.
Or they could use Vaati or some other villain that could precede Ganon.
-
Ganon the First.

Reminds me of TP… though I still don't get why he suddenly appeared.

Why who suddenly appeared?

yes it does.
spoilers, the skyward sword turns out to be the master sword, that's what miyamoto said in an interview or something…don't think ganondorf should appear in this game though. i think he would look kinda awkward in the art style of the game.

Ganon .
Basically Ganon was using Zant and used the Triforce of power from his imprisonment in the Twilight realm to appear as a fiery head in order to masquerade before Zant as a god, he then preyed on Zant's desperation (Zant had been denied the throne of the twilight realm and instead it was given to Midna) and told him that he would give him great power to accomplish his goals so long as Zant aided him in escaping the Twilight realm, so throughout the game Zant was doing things in order to enable Ganon's return to the light world.
EDIT:
http://wii.ign.com/articles/109/1098500p1.html! > 6:45: How many people remember the scene where Link dives off the cliff in the trailer? That's a very important point for the storyline. This time around, Link is born and raised in a land called Sky Loft, a land floating above the clouds. It may sound unique for someone to live on a floating land, but Link finds it ordinary. A land beneath the clouds is discovered, it's ruled by evil forces, but Link is forced to go there. Link has to travel between the two lands in this adventure. The Skyward Sword is his driving force behind his traveling between lands. That mysterious figure in last year's art is the Skyward Sword. People suspected this to be the Master Sword…but spoiler alert, the Skyward Sword becomes the Master Sword. (laughs
-
Yep, that's what I was referring to.
-
I have a feeling it won't be in Skyward Sword, but you know what really needs to make a comeback?
Fierce Diety Link.
I thought he was pretty sweet in Majora's Mask, even though he made the final boss fight go by in a flash and almost pointless, but I really liked the character model. If they do bring him back, I want him to be playable a little more than just during boss fights.
Ah, but one can only wish…
-
…So this Link was born in Skypeia?
-
i love his laughing at spoiler alert; like he knows its a big DUH. its like hmm its a prequal to ocarina, before master sword, and links sword looks like the master sword. gonna have to take a college class on this one
but yea reading about that description of the game's story basis makes me hope more and more that ocarina of time is not just a rehash with just new models. I hope they add a dungeon.
A SKY DUNGEON. You know like Twilight Princess had one, this skyward sword shows there is a sky island. Get rid of the just giving us the "light medallion" and instead have this new sky island dungeon be where you acquire the light medallion.
-
I would want a Sky dungeon that does not look alike a bland pile of rust.
-
@Cyan:
…So this Link was born in Skypeia?
Ha ha .
Hah.
-
its obvious this link is urogue
-
Okay, so it does end up being the master sword.
The whole time I was watching the preview, all I could think about was "that looks like the master sword, I thought it wasn't in this game…" so I assumed they just got lazy and didn't feel like designing a new sword.
-
Ay, you might wanna put spoiler tags on that. Some people may not like being spoiled with that, even if it may be pretty obvious.
Althought a new sword would have been refreshing, the Master Sword has been a pretty essential part of Zelda for a long, long time. Now it's going to have a bigger role, and hopefully this doesn't turn out to be as bland of a gimmick as the wolf was in Twilight Princess.

Naw the Master Sword has just been a major archetype in the series for years and since this is the story of it's origin it sorta has to be in the game, though it's pretty much guaranteed that there will be swords that you get before it.
@Mr.:

I thought about it but I wasn't sure if it was necessary because it's so obvious and Shigeru Miyamoto himself went ahead and spoiled it but I guess it wouldn't hurt.
-
I can't wait until they announce that
! The shield is the sword's father! Take that for a twist, children!
.And yes, that was a joke.
-
its obvious this link is urogue
Share the Link.
@Mr.:! The shield is the sword's father! Take that for a twist, children!
! The shield is a red herring. The hookshot and iron boots are in fact the swords parents, and the empty bottles are the swords uncles.
-
@Cyan:
Share the Link.

No the person Link. The hero Link in this story is Urogue.
You know cause Link was born on sky island. Was a joke, you know cause it seems these forums' love child is urogue.
-
Wow…dude, you fail. Share the Urouge? It's not that hard to figure it out (unless you haven't seen it yet...)
-
@Cyan:
Share the Link.

facepalms himself for not realizing this
Of course! It all makes sense, I feel so stupid for not seeing this earlier. You're good.
-
its obvious this link is urogue
So….this game is gonna be pointless and Link'll be a rubbish meme?
Shit.
-
http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=129016
Sounding good, it has been time to change the ALttP-concept (dungeons probably getting mixed up with field areas, etc) - even though the demo and trailer didn't look too different from other Zelda installments yet…
-
Its kinda cool to hear that its a pre Oot game. it looks to be impressive
-
Link no speaky = confirmed
http://www.destructoid.com/zelda-skyward-sword-producer-doesn-t-want-link-to-talk-181232.phtml#comment -
New and interesting. Joking aside, I never understood the push for it to begin with, aside from the petty gamers that believe all games should consistently evolve into these set standards.
-
I never had an ounce of suspicion that they were going to make him talk, but I'm still happy they're keeping him mute.
Not many heroes can pull that off like our good ol' Hylian Hero.
-
Good. I'm not a big fan of voice acting in my games.
-
I still say Link clearly spoke in Wind Waker. When guiding statues and such he yells "Over here!" or something.
-
This topic should definately be more acive.
What do people think of the new Zelda? I love her carefree personality, she's so funny and fun. Like when she nosedived off the cliff and Link freaked out. lol Priceless!
![](http://www.apforums.net/Users\SonPan\Pictures\Pictures\new gifs\cutezellink.gif)Am I the only one who really LOVES the music?
-
I'm not feeling the new villain. Maybe I'm too used to Ganon, and sometimes it's good to freshen things up with someone else, but he looks really fruity.
-
He looks more like the trickster type to me. I'll have to wait til' the game to see how good of a villian he actually is….though there's practically no chance of him being able to top Ganondorf.
-
One thing I'd like to see back is the Trident of Power. It's more or less the evil version of the Master Sword, you would think it'd be a bit more important.
-
Is it just me or is Link's sister kinda…ugly?
