I'll be shocked if they plan on a 2010 release. It's likely a 2011 release if they don't delay it at all. Oh well, we have to wait till next year's E3 anyways for any real info on the game, or so that's what was said about it.
But the 2010 release date is apparently official. (I heard this on another forum. If I find the real source for it I will post it.)
If that's so, we might see some more information before E3… Maybe just a tiny bit.
Woot! Well, Twilight Princess was cool, but I think this is really awesome that now we'll get a Zelda title specifically made for the Wii.
Yay! This is awesome news! ^_^
Also, can't wait for more info on the story, etc.
and refused to answer whether the Master Sword was returning
Or Ganon/Ganondorf.

Other than Link's crossbow training:ninja:.
I just found a much bigger and clearer version of the picture:
This looks to be a sequel to Twilight Princess, what with that twili-looking girl under Link, but Miyamoto kinda confused me with what he said about the era it takes place in and that Link is older. Does that mean it's years later in the TP era or a another completely new Link..?
I wonder how long till the bitching that Link doesn't have a sword at the moment commences…
Or Ganon/Ganondorf.
Chances are high, since he's pretty much in every console Zelda game that takes the series in some kind of new direction.
And the "twili-looking girl" is pretty much the fairy queen from WW. Or her exact duplicate.
Wait, is Link right handed in this game? He's holding the shield in his left hand, so I would assume he would hold a sword in his right hand….
I know it's not that big of a deal, but I always liked that he was left handed.
Still, a new Zelda title for the Wii is pretty exciting! :D I hope gameplay footage and trailers will start being released soon.
I know it's not that big of a deal, but I always liked that he was left handed.
He hasn't always been left handed
He was right handed in the wii version of TP
That's because everything was mirrored. But yeah, since many people are right handed and use the Wii….
I hope this one is better than TP. That game felt really empty.
He hasn't always been left handed
If you're talking about Twilight Princess on the Wii, that's because the game was just mirrored. All the concept art has Link being left handed. And I personally played the Gamecube version, so in my mind, Link was left handed in Twilight Princess. Besides, in all the games where the creators bothered to give Link a specific dominant hand, it has always been the left hand.
But like I said, it's just a personal preference of mine.
And I actually really like Twilight Princess! Though it was the first Zelda game I've played.

LOL, I'll never understand why people get so worked up over these little things I've never even noticed which hand he uses for what. But hey, it's just concept art. He may very well be left-handed in the game. Hmm, but then again, this is the Wii and since it'll probably work the same as TP he could be right-handed. Well, I guess we'll find out eventually.
BTW, are you THE Spoony?

Well, I'm left handed and I just thought it was nice that a major character like Link is left handed for a change since most games don't bother with representing us southpaws. :P
But yeah, I won't deny that it's a really small thing. XD I'm just nitpicking.
And if you're referring to Noah Antwiler, no, I'm not him. I just really like Final Fantasy IV and find the word "spoony" to be pretty funny sounding. And if you're not referring to Noah Antwiler, then I have no idea who you're talking about. D:
FINALLY! I was started to think we would never get a new zelda that doesnt invole Toon Link.

LOL, sucks for lefties ^_^; You know what they should do is they should have an option where you can switch between left-handed and right-handed Wii controls.
And yeah, assuming Noah Antwiler is Spoony from the That Guy with the Glasses website, that's who I'm referring to. We actually have another Internet semi-celebrity on the forum (Walrusguy) so I thought maybe we had another. Oh, and this may sound totally ignorant coming from a guy who has played the game, but what does the name Spoony have to do with FFIV? But yeah, it is a cool name.
I hope this one is better than TP. That game felt really empty.
That's exactly how I felt about it. Twilight Princess wasn't a bad game by any lengths, but it felt so linear and shallow, like another company had taken over the franchise but left half of the flavor to the original team. I liked some of the flavor, yes, but the game wasn't as memorable or loveable like the previous 3D incarnations; I'm hoping that this new game can overcome that. And please don't make the amazing Zelda races feel like gimmicks or fanservice. Actually USE them, guys!
I'm just going to assume that the girl is the sword in human form or something.(I know in the interview he said they are making it, but I think it'd be like TP with the girl being involved in the gameplay somehow)
I haven't played TP on the wii, but only on the gamecube. The only part of zelda games I love are the grass/ice temples and the musical instrument part(TP being the wolf howling)
The different era thing isn't so surprising; except for direct sequels every Zelda game is in a different era. Or alternate timeline. Something like that.

My feelings exactly! The first half of Twilight Princess was pretty fun, but the second half just felt off, especially with there being little to no exploration before you went into dungeons.
And the "twili-looking girl" is pretty much the fairy queen from WW. Or her exact duplicate.
You're right, that's what it looked like, not a twili.
Hopefully not another Zelda/Triforce/Ganon thing. Majoras Mask and Links Awakening, which lacked all of that, were my favorite Zelda games. :wassat:
I have only JUST finished playing Twilight Princess on the Wii and now I find out there's gonna be another game out? This is awesome!
I wonder if any other characters will be returning for this game (like Zelda or Ganondorf)
doesn't the girl look similar to queen of the fairies in wind waker?
I'm just going to assume that the girl is the sword in human form or something.
He shoots…...he scores!!!!
I'm just going to wager a guess that this human Master Sword is the Navi/Tatl/Midna character, and you'll be gathering power to restore it. Hence the little jewel is grey instead of the illuminated yellow. Sounds done before - and it has - but the big change in this game will be how the Wii Motion Plus is integrated anyway.
I'm guessing it's a distant sequel to TP - like TP and TWW are to OOT - but that probably won't have any real importance anyway.
Yes I've noticed the Queen of the Fairies similarity too, but I'm ruling that out for…well it's a long story.
But the 2010 release date is apparently official. (I heard this on another forum. If I find the real source for it I will post it.)

TP in 2005 was an official date too. Until it was delayed.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid Other M are already coming out next year, obviously even if they did manage to get this game done next year - which they won't - they'd hold it off until 2011 anyway.
Were Nintendo trying to be subtle with the human sword thing? Because it is obvious as hell.
Human sword?! Really, people? That's what's not subtle to you? Foregoing this:
doesn't the girl look similar to queen of the fairies in wind waker?
You think a human sword is the obvious answer?! Man… Fumes these days...
That's just generic character design.
I know this is an old topic, but we got a little bit more information on it.
It has now been completely officially confirmed to come out in this year (like I said on here before but couldn't find a source IIRC.)
I've also heard elsewhere that they said they weren't satisfied with Twilight Princess and really want to make this game more "realistic".
Apparently they weren't satisfied with Twilight. According to the interview with Nintendo Official Magazine.
That and they are using Wii Motion Plus for this game was about all I got from that Mag XD
well guess its got to be in same universal timeline between Ocarina-Twilight, because anything before that wont work
( which is sad.. i wanted to see another game based on the SNES edition)
I read that interview, and it came across to me as not so much disappointed in the game in a, "that didn't turn out as well as we expected" way, but more like, "we could have done so much more with it."
I really liked Twilight Princess (getting a hankering to replay it again just from this topic), and I look forward to seeing just how far they can take its style and work with it in Zelda Wii.
Twilight Princess was amazing. I played through it again around April/May time and was just blown away at how much I skipped over it the first time lol.
Not gamer here, but MSN.com just added the same interview that Envy posted confirming the 2010 date (and a DS 2), but it had a larger version of the promo image. I thought you guys might want it (for icons, or whatnot), so…
I don't know games, but I can at least appreciate the art. ^^

Gah! Thank you for reminding me of that. I haven't seen it either. I just hate shelling out money for…...well, pretty much anything.
I liked TP, though it wasn't nearly as good as OOT or MM. And if this does use the Wii Motion Plus then they should package one with the game since… well I don't have one.
Well I honestly don't know if they'll ever top Majora's Mask. It was something unique.
But I really liked TP myself and don't see why everybody hates on it so much. The Zelda series is a very consistently great series. You can expect a great time out of each Zelda game you purchase, really.
I tell you this i would love if they remade OoT and MM for like a annivery or something..like with it having wii graphics, controls, etc(of course something epic for each musical instriment). probably wouldnt happen but hey i can dream.

Oh hai
Look

Sounds interesting but I don't really know whether to believe it. Not everything found on 2Ch is true.
Hope that stuff is true. I liked the time travel aspect of OOT and the option for a left or right handed Link is pretty cool.
Time Travel is nothing new to the Zelda series anyway. Wouldn't this be the third game where it's featured?
^ I can only think of Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Oracle of Ages, so if this has time-travel, it should be the fourth.
