There are a number of FF anime series released over the past decades and I was wondering if they were any good, and if they're not could one elaborate why?
How are the Final Fantasy anime series?

I have actually been wondering this too,
Looking forward to the Answer, with ya Tizoc ! -
Awful.
Absolutely.

As someone who owns the Legend of the Crystals OVA and Final Fantasy: Unlimited, I can tell you that they are nothing special. They're worth a rental at most although I think Legend of the Crystals was pure sacrilege to Final Fantasy V.

A friend of mine bought them and RAVED about how utterly shit they were.
Apparently, they're basically still animation most of the time - the Unlimited Series, that is.
The movie/OVA's were average to okay. If you really like FF V or are just a curious fanboy, that's probably your best bet. But yeah, I'd say rental. DON'T BUY -
There's some nice OP/ED to be found in there, at least…

Heh I worried as such. I was rather expecting FFU to be still animation, guess I'll give FF5 sequel anime a watch, but I do expect it to be a fanfic :V

EDIT: Just saw clips of the Summons on YT, Odin's mecha design was so piss-poor I think I've lost all interest in this show, so I guess that leaves me with the OVA :v

Unlimited & Legend of the Crystals are terrible.
The VII OVA's, Last Order and On The Way To A Smile: Case of Denzel are pretty good.

I'm a huge ff fan but once I saw the first episode of FF unlimited I forgot it existed, it was just so bad…
