Sabaody Archipelago, anime discussion…

I really enjoyed the Saboady Archipelago arc, and I thought that it was very well done in the anime.

The story itself is very cool, introducing tons of unique characters who will be important for years I'm sure. It's fun that Oda waited until that moment to unleash all these great new pirate crews on us.

The animation was pretty good in general, and it was amazing when it needed to be. Admiral Kizaru's stuff was particularly smooth and impressive, which it needed to be to get across how impressive he is.

There were some parts where the animation suffered though. Much like in Enies Lobby, scenes where the the whole Straw Hat crew is fighting with a lot of marines were animated pretty poorly.

But other than that, it was smooth sailing. It was fast paced, the voice acting and music was great as ever, but most importantly the story delivered.

The only real complaint was that they removed Law's middle finger. Admittedly, it would have been fun to leave in, even if they had to blur it out with a pixelated mosaic.

Saboady Archipeligo… great One Piece. Nicely done, Toei.

I'll have to admit when I starting getting into One Piece my friend introduced one of these episodes (the one with the supernova bounties) I was fasinated by the many different characters there! Brook,Urouge,Apoo,Kidd,Law,Bonnery,etc. So this arc will hold a special place in my One Piece fandom (Although now I started watching it from the beginning currently at 116) and now I'm hooked on the anime and the manga continunity!

I was honestly really unimpressed with the Sabaody anime. Animation was nothing better than average at all times and some of the voice work was a little dire. The only thing that I felt was handled really well was the separation

Seems to be getting a little better with Amazon Lily though

Whoa, Silvers vs. Kizaru was very smooth and fluidly animated, as were Kizaru's attacks on people in general.

When he reforms out of light, that's buttery smooth animation. Delicious.

I have to say that there were at some points where there animation wasn't right for me, but it still had it's great moments with the animation.

I loved the seperation part, it was just so heartfully sad. Also, how it all just fell apart before they were sent flying, oh my goodness, that was devastating, you saw the desperation they were going through and the loneliness they knew that was coming. At least it isn't a total lost cause, as long as they find their way to each other again it will all be okay. But still it was heartrenching.

I really liked the part where right before Nami is teleported into a bubble, her and Luffy share this moment of ablosute terror of being seperated. It just seemed like for Luffy, Nami was the worst Crew Mate to loose.

The Sabaody arc was great. I liked the slavery parts and I like the part where Luffy punched Charloss in the face. I didn't think they spent much time fighting the marines, and when Kuma was teleporting the crew off, I thought Luffy was acting more sad in the anime.

Alot of the animation was terrible for me. Parts like the crew fighting Kuma, Zoro's new asura move looked dumb because we didnt see the Px's front to see what kind of damage the attack left, just scarthes, Sanji looked weird with his daible jambei, etc. The supernova's were pretty good but when Kidd and Law fought their Px, the animation started to get a little grainy and it seemed like they just barely managed to finish the fight ebfore the animation turned shitty. But the huge brawl at the end and Kizaru whooping the 4 captains was excellent as well as the carlos punch so all in all it wasnt a bad arc animation wise.

I like when Luffy punched Charloss (i think that was his name) and it went to black and white…. that was my favorite part of the entire arc.

oh what can i say about this arc well i loved it i like the archipelago in the first place very creative with the bubbles and such.

liked the theme park they went it was funny how luffy and the others got launched out of the ride i thought damn this is awesome and they had headaches afterwards man that was priceless.

but my most favorite is the introduction of the supernovas very movie like quality, and also the Luffy punching charloss with the black and white effect that was awesome and people knew that it was awesome it was done and done again in the recap now that is awesome.

good arc some animation downside but nevertheless a very creative land and arc.

also the slavery was sad i still find it sad that it had a dark history to sabaody.
