Since its 3rd season is rolling along…

Is anyone else a fan of this hilarious Cops parody? For those who don't know, Reno 911, airing Tuesdays at 10PM PST on Comedy Central, is a hilarious parody of Fox's hit show, Cops. The show follows the hilariously inept officers of the Reno Sheriff's Department. TV Tome's page on Reno 911 may shed more info than I can.

The comedy of this show defies description. But, that doesn't prevent discussion of this great show. Ya like it? Got a favorite moment? A favortie character? How do you like the new season?

I'm not a huge fan. Well, the segments where they go after criminals are usually amusing, they should quit trying to give it a "plot."

Yeah, the plot thing is a little weird, but I still like it. The jail parts were great.

In my area at least, TBS runs a Reno ripoff on weekend nights. I think the new season of that one is starting. If it wasn't cancelled for being so cheap….

They never seemed to try to give it a plot, so much as they'd end each season with a definitive conclusion (in case the series doesn't get renewed), and the next premiere tries to get around it. The first time, the end was all a dream, this time they were all arrested.

And yeah, the jail parts were great, especially when they're escaping the prison in the background of a news interview, and you see them all running back in the prison when the guy on the news says they'll all be released.

"I've done alot of bad things…."

"Hey, man, don't worry about it. I like child pornography, so I'm no one to judge."

And yeah, I think I saw the Reno ripoff. It's done by some independent group or something, and it wasn't funny at all. From the looks of it, the entire budget consisted of 50 bucks and a gift certificate.
