No, if you shake the wiimote & nunchuck after you go into your dying state you come back with quarter health, that's why it takes you so long to die. I believe you can do this 4 times per battle.

The only thing that made Destroyman even remotely bearable was that, when half of him is brought back to life, he only has three units of health the first time and one unit the second time (on Mild, at least; don't know if he has more for Bitter or not). Other than that, with the fact that you were fighting two of them with a character whose jump physics were awkward at best, they could revive each other, fly around the stage, and they had a team attack which all-but paralyzed you and homed in on you, I thought they were the cheapest bosses in the series.
Then, I fought the next rank. The ones after that haven't been nearly as irritating so far.

Bad news concerning the HD port, guys. The 360 version will be fully uncensored like the American version, as a result it has been rated Z which is the Japanese version of our AO (Adults Only). It's for the 360, which has a small userbase, so they don't care. If you guys want to know why, the Japanese, while having tons of violent movies and shows, are very finicky about dismemberment in games, particularly decapitations. Except on some rare occassions, keeping decapitations in a game usually gets it slapped with a Z rating.
But they do care about the PS3 version getting a bigger audience… so here's the bad news. The PS3 version will be censored just like the Japanese and Europe version of the original. So people who were thinking of importing because it'll be region free on the PS3 (like I was), I guess not. I'm not gonna pay importing costs for a censored version, even if it is in HD.
Also it was originally going to come out Feb. 25th, but it's been pushed back to April. But again, I don't care now. If this port isn't released state side, I sure won't be playing it now.

I didn't play Bitter but I can tell you the ending of the game is universal from sweet, mild, to bitter. Same ending, no hidden secrets. The game had a crappy ending, and we're stuck with it. I believe the only thing that you can miss in the game is the fight with Kimmy Howell.
Finished it today. I thought this game was pretty much superior to NMH1, due to the improved combat system and overall gameplay, but even though it's far more of a polished game than NMH1, you could still feel that it isn't a high budget production. (Jumping controls weren't gamebreaking, but still awkward and graphics still aren't everything the Wii can do)
There were still some things I thought NMH2 did worse though ;
-Ending was fine imo, but Suda always commented that this game would be darker, or rather more serious and then the final boss looks like THIS? wtf was this shit, worst character design I've seen in both games and that's by far…
-Because of the music (and this time variety) playing during the stages, I liked the soundtrack slightly better, but why were there so many parts in the second half of the game that completely lacked background music - wtf?
-Minigames, the shmup, etc. were still there and improved, but I wish some of them would have been included in the stages itself, just like in NMH1
Regarding bosses, I thought it already started pretty good with Skelter, Nathan Copeland and Charlie McDonald. Two or three bosses in between were forgettable, but therefor ranks #4,#3 and #2 were as epic as it gets.
I consider NMH1 to be plenty superior myself, and I didn't even play till after everything under the sun about it was spoiled for me. If I hadn't my mind probably would have been blown.

There was no music at all in NMH1 when you explored Santa Destroy on foot. And Alice's stage starts out as a parody of Grand Theft Auto. Hence the large, dull-colored, easy-to-get-lost-in city stage with no music. All 3 Akashic Points are parodies of other video game series (to be specific: Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, and the aforementioned GTA).
Bought NMH1 used from Gamestop a few weeks ago. I thought the game was pretty solid overall, and I appreciated the humor. Moe~

The fighting is a HUGE improvement over the first game to. To me, that makes it worth it.

The differences between the katanas are now more significant, more combos are allowed, the wrestling moves are now useful and it felt more fast paced, tbh.
And as Shmeckie said, the fat guys are easy to kill. Use a few slash/kick combos to confuse them, then just finish them by grabbing…
I usually just hack at the fat guys mindlessly, which is really what you need to do for a game like this.
Plus if you flick the remote and just the right time before the finishing blow, the slash angle expands and you can take out a bunch of other goons that way.
That feature was in NMH1, too. I'm actually surprised at the amount of people who think it's a new feature.

So you 360 owners are set for HD NMH, you got English dialogue and uncut goryness… but 360 isn't region free. Sadly the PS3 is indeed edited.
The graphics don't actually look THAT much better, to be frank… Smoother, but otherwise pretty similar.
Yep. The biggest change is they took the black shading and actually made it proper shading. I was sad about this cause it took aware the graphic's style, but the shading is still unique looking. Also, you can tell that they paid special attention to the girls. Holly's and Bad Girl's faces have been completely redone, they look better now too. They're really trying to sell this to the fanboys tho, see that picture behind the guy in the video with Travis surrounded by every girl in the game? Yep, you guessed it, that's the boxart.

If the controls are similiar in the HD version, the game is going to be a lot worse.

Bad news, fuckheads. So far NMH2 has only sold 80,000 copies. Its price is nose-diving, it's already $30 used at GameStop, which can be taken down to $21 with online coupons and EGDE card. This isn't so bad when you take into consideration Bayonetta, a game released the same month and got lots more attention, can be snatched up for the same price as well right now.
Either way, I don't think this bods too well for NMH2. Then again, Suda did say that depended on "fan response" and not "sale figures", so let's hope.
Where did you get that numbers from? If it isn't from NPD or Marvelous themselves, it's probably even lower.
But Bayonetta on PS3 also only sold 60k in the US. There just isn't a market for these over the top games.

Great news, everyone! Err… maybe. Konami has picked up the distribution rights to Heroes' Paradise... in Europe. Europe will be getting the PS3 version with added support for move, no plans for the 360 version. No news of a US release or if the Europe release is censored or not.
Hoo-hah! Uncensored! I wanna say I'll import it (with some help from Local maybe?), but would Sony seriously let Konami pass up a chance of publishing a Move compatible game in the US, especially a hardcore one? It could do for Move what the original did for the Wii.
I'm hoping for a US release, since my non-Wii friends want to play No More Heroes 1 & 2.
Also, I just got this game about a month ago and beat it not to long ago and I really gotta say… That ending sucked. It's like they didn't even try.
The rest of the game, however, was hit & miss (mostly hit). It had a strong beginning, but then it kind of seemed to settle down afterwards.
The battle with the Glastonberry was pretty fun, but I was glad it only was for that fight. There weren't many controls for it, so I could see it getting really repetitive really fast.
The Akashi points were pretty fun to go through and get the references (Resident Evil 4, Metal Gear Solid, Grand Theft Auto), it's just something you know Suda51 would do.
What I didn't like was how Henry was only playable for one (count it…one) boss fight. It was trippy as heck and pretty fun, but that was just about it.
Other than that, I think I enjoyed the first one a bit more than the 2nd one. I took my time with the first one I and really enjoyed the experience, and the 2nd one just didn't seem to do the trick for me. I guess I must've missed the open world.
