Cool trailer!!
it's got me pumped.
Need a Wii first
-
Still haven't sold my Wii after getting a 360. Might have to keep it for this game. Ending was funny, and I loved "This isn't a battle anymore… it's a motherFUCKING war." Twin light sabers looks cool. The boss fight against that guy with missiles looks sorta similar to the fight against Holly Summers.
-
keep the Wii man. It's got some decent stuff. But it's even better that you've got a 360 to back you up.
Oh and it was tight when that boss's boombox, like, converted onto his shoulders as armor.
-
Oh was that what it was? I thought his arms were getting scales or something. Boombox makes sense though.
-
1:00- definitely a transforming boom box
that is fucking cool.
I also think it's badass that he started the battle by tossing his hoes at Travis.
-
One of the best games on the Wii just got better…!
-
Judging from the trailer, its looks like they've smoothed out all of the off and on frame rate issues that plagued the first game. And the dual beam katanas? Fuckin'super-sequel!
-
Cannot wait for this game. The only shining ray of hope for my Wii. Hope we get to use the double edged beam sword.
-
The trailer is fuckin' awsome!!! I loved the first one so much. I must have this!!!:w00t:
-
Due to NeoGaf there are :
- more boss fights than in the first game
- boss battles against several enemies
- mini games starring Travis' cat
Also : Shinobu is playable ( she's faster and able to jump )
-
I haven't played No More Heroes in a long time, but don't you kill Shinobu in the Santa Destroy High School?
Or am I thinking of someone else?
-
@Syan:

No, Travis doesn't kill her, he just cuts off her hand (yet she has it in a latter cut seen).
-
oh god oh god oh god
this is so awesome i feel like travis at the end of the trailerok maybe not
BUT THIS IS SO FUCKING AWESOME. I can't wait for this to come out. I am soooo looking forward to the DUAL SABERS AAAA– and is it just me, or do they look like CHAINSAWS?
And yes, I love how that one guy started the battle by tossing his hoes. Ass in your face! SURPRISE. And his weapons looked cool, too. GAIKSJDKLAJSD I DONT KNOW AAAA I CAN'T THINK
-

Shinobu is the only assassin (aside from Travis and maybe the secret final boss) who is alive at the end of the game.
I am really looking forward to this. I thought that the first No More Heroes was fun, and the sequel looks to be even better, seeing as there's roughly 5 times the number of bosses (hopefully; for all we know, there could be more situations like Letz Shake), a much wider variety of enemies, more playable characters, and dual-wielding swords.
-
God dammit, I wasn't equipped to handle news this awesome so suddenly! Now I need to go put on new pants…
-
1. What makes Travis' Schpeletiger new is that it is now twice as long (in addition to the better controls).
2. This has already been verified, but there have been doubts and concerns as to how Grasshopper is going to have 50 unique bosses, from their appearance to actual fighting capabilities. Suda explains to EDGE that basically there is nothing to worry about as they incorporated both the original NMH development team and the NMH2 team (many members being of both teams including the character creator) to brainstorm and according to Suda they had no problems shooting out several ideas and characters from that.
3. The name of the "schoolgirl assassin" we all know about is Kimmy. How appropriate. Suda also mentions that Kimmy wants to keep Travis "all to her self." Possible Misery references?
4. At the end of every boss fight, a 2D image of Travis will walk from one end of the screen to the other to hop onto the Schpeletiger and drive off, accompanied by some new piece of midi music.
5. The idea of Travis using other weapons, even projectiles, was considered by Suda, but ultimately canned as Suda says that the sword/beam katana is what Travis should always use. Suda calls Travis the "modern samurai."
6. It was implied that Bishop actually does not die or get killed off, as the article explains that Bishop will have a bigger role to play in the game. At the same time, Suda says that "Travis is fighting for himself" not for anyone else. Travis is fighting for revenge, but perhaps for someone else other than Bishop?
7. Speaking more specifically on the city, Suda explains that Travis had actually left Santa Destroy for those three years, and it wasn't until he came back that he had seen how much it had changed. Where Travis had gone is not said. Only a portion of the original city will be traveled, based on fan responses on the first game. The streets and sidewalks will be much more busier and cars will "get out of the way" of Travis' bike. There are construction signs and lights everywhere. One of the fighting grounds will be a "new school", "construction yard", and a graveyard. Not sure if the school is new in the sense that it is an additional one to the Santa Destroy High School or if it is just a remodeled SDHS.
8. There are still side jobs such as coconut collecting and a new one involving plumbing. Suda explains that he still wants the player to feel like he has to work hard to play the game as that is what it means to be a punk. Otherwise, he says, there is a disconnect between the videogame world and reality. Still, the side jobs are still improved and provide humor as well as entertainment.
9. It is confirmed that Destroyman comes back as a cyborg as wanting revenge against, who else, Travis.
10. Finally, the bosses themselves: it will not be as difficult, time consuming, and at times boring to collect enough money to advance to the next boss fight. In fact, Suda purposely wanted to mix things up to keep it from getting repetitive by having Shinobu and Henry as playable characters and, at times, fighting more than one boss fight, sometimes one right after the other, and sometimes simultaneously.
-
This game feels too good to be true…! Also, I shat myself. Violently. Because this news rocked that hard.
-
50 bosses?! Really? Or am I misreading that?
-
No sir. 50 glorious bosses!
-
WAHOO!!! That does sound good indeed!
-
What? 50 Bosses!?!
-
with 50 bosses i can tell that they are going to do situations like letz shake.
also with 50 you know there will be more story and reasons why travis and friends are taking down 50 people.
edit: i just found out that suda is gonna continue the series on a different console.also that he is looking at the xbox 360
-
@Shaman:

Well, Suda said you're going to fight several bosses at the same time or sometimes in a row.
-

Where did you hear this?

Lol, i've been reading articles, theres no confirmation on that being remotely close. Suda51 said it would like to maximize its marketing on PS3 and the XBOX360 but its somewhere waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy down the line.
-
Yes, Suda said that it would be the last No More Heroes on Wii, but "other console" could also mean Wii 2.
It doesn't make too much sense to think about No More Heroes 3 yet, anyway. Grass Hopper is no huge company like Capcom, Square, or whatever and they are already making a new game with Shinji Mikami and Suda also wants to make a game with Kojima afair, so they are pretty busy atm and probably won't think about a new No More Heroes too soon, especially since it's probably still many months until this one comes out.
Also, they surely wait for the sales of NMH2 before they decide where this series goes ( if there's another sequel at all ). Sudas other games like Killer7 sold poorly, even on the PS2 and he had his first significant commercial successes on Wii, so … :S -
this is where i read it

and here
http://www.edge-online.com/news/no-more-heroes-will-%E2%80%9Cneed-a-new-platform%E2%80%9D
take from it what you like but it seems that suda is leaving the wii after part 2.
-
I think he might've said that out of disappointment regarding the game's sales in Japan along with the usual routine of Wii owners passing up games like NMH in favor of something else.
-
No, his attitude seems to be "well, we went as far as we can with the Wii. What's next?"
-
Wow, it looks awesome!
-
It's really interesting that he's announcing this, before NMH2 comes out. I mean, if you look at capcom they did a superb job at remaking the resident evil games for the gamecube and I believe the wii has the same processing powers, so for them to jump platforms in where they haven't full vested into the wii 100% (meaning when I see graphics like twilight or RE1) then it's pretty like saying, thanks for being our lab rats ^_^.
-
i think at this point, they're totally after the money. everyone who played NMH and NMH2 is going to play a third part. doesn't matter on which platform it'd be.
-
the thing is, i hope suda doesn't forget nintendo cause nintendo was there for his first game and now.he started with killer 7 right?well it is obvious he wants to expand on no more heroes.question does no more heroes take place in the same world as killer 7 ? cause the whole assassin theme was also a motif in killer 7
-
I think eventually it'll get a nod somehow, I wouldn't even put it pass them to include the characters for random chuckles.
-
Man, seeing as how I never got the first game, I probably won't be getting this one.
Which is a shame, because that trailer and gameplay footage REALLY got me pumped up for this game! sigh Guess I can't help it if my mom isn't comfortable with me getting it…
Travis and the rapper guy cutting the girls to pieces was messed up, but oddly cool and hilarious at the same time.
Not to mention that the combat system and graphics both seem to be a HUGE step up from the previous game, from what I can see.
-
Looks like another ranked enemy is returning in No More Heroes 2, although it's not who you'd think…
!
Helter-Skelter, the guy from the original trailer for the first game!
http://media.wii.ign.com/media/142/14288376/imgs_1.html -
i just checked the new videos on ign.looks like cheer leaders can be bad ass too.
also i dont think thats helter skeltercheck it out http://wii.ign.com/articles/102/1021425p1.html
-
Compare that image to this concept art for Helter-Skelter from the original game, though.
There are a few differences, but the two look basically the same.
-
i can see that but i think it is more of maybe family then actually helter skelter.also unless he is a robot like destroyman is gonna be then i don't see him coming back since his head was chopped off
-
That gun is fuckin' awesome.
-
This post is deleted!
-
Now that I have a Wii and No More Heroes I'm pumped for this game. I'm getting it the day (or at least try) it comes out, and unlike the first game, I'm not gonna have it spoiled for me.
New trailer revealed at the Tokyo Game Show, it's of Shinbou. And my God, she looks like a blast to play as: http://wii.ign.com/dor/objects/14288376/no-more-heroes-2/videos/tgs09_nmh2_teaser_shinobu_092409.html Also, new images: http://media.wii.ign.com/media/142/14288376/imgs_1.html
I hope we find out what the dealio is with her hand. Is it like a cybernetic prosthetic?
-
Ill have to play the first game first.. when is this 2010?
-
Yes, comes out in January. Definitely play the first first.
-
This is probably the game that has me the most excited coming out soon.
Can't wait
I hope they minimize storyline details between now and release though
-
I know this is Suda51, but I think DS may be a more serious (story-wise) game than the first. The first games story was basically a guy killing people thinking he was gonna get in the pants of a hot chick. Now, it's a revenge story.
-
I know this is Suda51, but I think DS may be a more serious (story-wise) game than the first.
If you think that Suda51 can only make parody-like games / plots, you should get Killer7 for Gamecube somewhere ( for probably extremely few money ).
It has the most profound and darkest story I've ever seen in a videogame. But I rather expect something similiar to that in his new secret project with Shinji Mikami, than in NMH2, although he said that DS is also going to be a bit more serious afair. -
Never said he could.
