@Kuminator:
True, but thing is it became TOO much of a success,
Toriyama wanted to end it constantly, Frieza Saga, then Cell, then Boo (Where he finally go the chance to end it)
He always tied up all the loose ends, but managed to get talked back in to continuing it.
Dragon Ball became so popular, that Toriyama couldn't stop, too many people wanted it. The fact that it was so popular, may very well have been it's downfall, if it had a downfall at all.
Personally I just look past all the attempts to end it & overall I thought that Dragon Ball was a very good Series & certainly a revolutionary, for loads of people 'Dragon Ball' got them into anime & made them more culturally away that things like it were not just 'Comics'
MY OFF TOPIC REPLY
[hide]I did like parts of the Buu saga but mostly the last parts, although I felt the opposite for the Cell saga, the ending was terrible. Just so damn predictable I thought.
The thing is Toriyama could have gone in another direction but didn't. Like for example go in depth into the life of another character, roshi, grandpa gohan, etc. But just continued on the same path, its almost like he ran out of ideas towards the end. The spark was lost for me.
It may sound strange but I heard someone mention the idea of having a mini series of Gold roger. Almost like one giant flashback that covers his biggest adventures and achievements. As a sort of bonus for the fans but I doubt Oda would go down this path. Unless he has the same kind of pressure Toriyama had?[/hide]
I wonder if the sales will reverse once this Arc is finished. Perhaps if it goes quite for a while, or at least a bit less dangerously epic
