I was wondering the same and do you guys have a blogspot or website with all your downloads?
Thanks for this weeks episode
-
thanks for the subs!
Now I don't know any thing about subbing or the Japanese language. But seriously Fdein, if there are mistakes in the subs, the people here have a right to post those mistakes here to let others know without getting flamed.
I know lol ;) just be polite about it. I like feedback as long as it it from the fans
@badmanversion1:Thanks for the release Guys/Gals, much appreciated quickness, unlike my contribution, which is quite late.
To be fair to all party's involved in this little deliberation there were only really 3 easily noticeable mistakes in the episode to a non-japanese speaker such as myself.
3:26 – "met Rayleigh at the auction house who is looking around for a job"
(not really good English but understandable to most with a brain - also if you've kept up with the story you'll kinda get that{I'm assuming} what is really said here is't what is subbed)The Obvious one which has been flogged to death here so I wont drag out that horse again.
and at 18:25 - "a Marine Sdmiral" - the 'S' key is next to the 'A' key … so really that the fault of the QC not the trans.
(you know, in typing this I've probably made 10+ mistakes that were corrected before posting (for some reason as I type the cursor randomly jumps to different locations in the text now and again …. weird) so I think that with only 3 major ones in an entire script we could at least cut-em some slack)
So yes there are mistakes but not really enough (this episode) to go ape about.{and still i have mistakes in this post}
Woah I didn't notice some of these. Sorry
@Jazzfeezy:I was wondering the same and do you guys have a blogspot or website with all your downloads?

We have one but it's really not updated

Just check the episode threads they all have them :)and kubus is right don't start this discussion again mmkay. and I got the email with translation script before Italian release anyways :D. So I'm pretty sure myself. Just don't go spamming on my forums lol.

Damn there is a sexy HD that was released, I should have used that n_n
I feel like making a v2 -
if you make a v2 than you should fix those translate errors :)

I registered just to say this, and I don't mean to add fuel to the fire, but this is really ridiculous.
first of all, kubus and wesly, I appreciate your subs (especially Chi's new address, sucks that kitty and yoroshiku stopped subbing) but you're way overreacting and out of line here.
as a pretty good japanese speaker, who has watched plenty of raws and have actually lived in japan alone for a couple of months, that line you are arguing about is most definately NOT "gomen, kiddou kaizoku dan", all I can hear is something along the lines of "Hikome, Kiddou kaizoku dan" which I haven't been able to translate by means of romaji based dictionaries.
I've tried to come up with a way for someone to turn a vague word\s that is hard to translate and come up with what they did, and this leads me to believe that he heard "ikou me" or "ikou ne".
both fit the context of the animation and the story, while "I'm sorry, kid's pirates" does not. why would bepo be sorry? for being late? he was there the whole time, this is completely vague and feels wrong. "let's go" or "let's attack together" while a stretch, does fit the context and could be just a fill in for a word that is hard-to-understand due to sounds in the background and the actors voice.
as to "heart pirates" I don't know where that came from, but I assume the translator knew or thought that to be eustass kid's crew name. like "strawhat pirates" is luffy's. that would fit as a reason for the translation, though personally, I stick to keeping foreign words as they are and less context-fitting translation, so I'd have used "Kid's pirate crew" and not "Heart pirates".
and the biggest point, this does in no way mean that ACSF is translating from the italian subs, and the fact you actually had the time to watch them to know that, means you have spare time on your hands, yet your episode is yet to be released, how does that make any sense?
and I am also inclined to believe ACSF is working hard to slowly improve and I doubt they copy foreign translations, that would be both dumb and troublesome.
and before you call me biased, I watch whatever's out first, I don't side with anyone. and yes I do prefer yibis over kubus over ACSF, but this does not justify the bashing that is going on here for no reason, anyone doing any translation at all should be critisized in a positive manor and assisted, not bashed.

Isn't "Heart Pirates" Law's pirate crew?

Isn't "Heart Pirates" Law's pirate crew?
Yes it is.

Which makes that entire bs half-hearted "satisfying moral conscious and act all mother superior because it makes me feel important" attempt pointless.

…I didn't realize that at all before you pointed it out, but now, I suddenly find myself wondering how I could have missed it... He's probably saying "Hikkome", which I suppose is a conjugation of "Hikkomi", which means retreat. So he's probably telling the Kid-pirates to get out of the way.

makes 5 times more sense than what everyone here have been saying, whatever it was he's saying, it's definately not "gomen" and "gomen" doesn't fit the context of the animation or the text or the plot or the character for that matter.
hikkomi sounds much more plausible, thanks for the direction :)

I'm not sure how well I understand your meaning in saying that, but erm… thanks?
sorry if I made a WoT, just that I see this argument before the ep, and when I heard the line in the ep I was like WTF? are they doing drugs or something?

I should have actually went back and heard it. Ah well I think most including myself : / are too easily tricked by the information said by users lol. I don't blame him though. I went through this episode this week and I was surprised to miss something like that

Anyway, from what I've skimmed through, Bepo doesn't say gomen but something else? If that's true, I can do nothing but laugh. I honestly don't know anything but basic Japanese, and haven't even checked the episode myself yet. When someone says something and nobody disagrees, I feel free to assume it's correct. Especially when it's an easy word like 'Gomen'. From what I understood, Bepo says lines that don't make sense sometimes. Not sure where I heard that, though. Anyway, if this is the case, my apologies to Fdein that I kept claiming his translator stole from the Italian subs.
EDIT: And right after posting, I stumble upon Vegard's post. So can we assume "let's attack together" is completely wrong or what?
-
It's fine bro :D But we generally do take shortcuts like other speedsub groups
Maybe I should start making more late HD releases for the people who want weeaboo and quality. lol and I'll be sure to have someone do a TLC -
I thought there was something odd about "gomen, kidd kaizoku-dan", but the focus here was on the mistranslation of "Kidd kaizoku-dan", which was incorrectly translated by both parties as "heart pirates" for some reason.
I haven't even completely seen the episode myself so I can't really tell. Only thing I know is that when I went over the line, I was like "wtf is he saying". Didn't sound like gomen, but I wasn't able to hear whát exactly he was saying either.
Anyway, as FW already said, the discussion is over, and it has no more use to keep discussing this. Fdein must be pretty sick of his topic getting screwed over like this.
Let's just leave it at this.
-
I'm not even going to bother reading more than half of what you wrote, as it will only result in me countering your argument resulting in people whining that KubuSubs is going too far like you're doing right now. If you read the topic, you should have realised the discussion's over. Anything you want to tell whoever, do it through PM because I think most parties are sick of this right now.

not to say that to be true, but that doesn't mean he didn't, it just means there a high chance this was a reasonable mistake due to mishearing the sentence, because it was said with a lot of background noise and the word used isn't common.
I did go out to say that fansubbers and their crewmates should not bash other subbers, even if this really was that big a mistake. everyone who subs is doing people a favour by helping them watch content they like in an understandable language, and mistakes are bound to happen.
-
cool episode x)
cant wait to see the next straw hat crew fight
-
btw Usopp's nose looked like a di*k XDDDD

You can probably find fanfictions about that
and lol I.T.P you lucky bastard you live in Israel.(I'm Palestinian btw) -
You can probably find fanfictions about that
and lol I.T.P you lucky bastard you live in Israel.(I'm Palestinian btw)that's very cool, I didn't know there were one-piece fans over there, let alone a fan subber, that's allways good to know :-)
too bad there are so many palestinian extremists and that we have to endure this stupid situation because of them, I hope you live in a safe place in the shomron, and not anywhere near the gaza strip.
-
o.O" I think you misunderstood me lol
but anyways I'm not gonna argue about the whole Israel-Palestine situation since we have very different opinions -

Making mistakes is human, but making the same exact mistake is pretty weird. Anyway, who even cares at this point
Eh, I understand I seem biased, but everyone seems to have the opinion that I'm some sort of crewmember of KubuSubs. All I do is make posts and sometimes QC an episode For that reason, if I want to point out that I thought the sub was stolen, I feel like I can just like any other member. (NOTE: Not saying anything anymore, don't get on my back! )
-
It's a deduction I guess I can't blame you :)
-
Not fueling the fire, but who released their subs first? Italians or ACSF? Anyone mind giving me a link on where both parties released their subs.
-
I think italian released first
-
If you look at www.tokyotoshokan.com, you can see that Italian sub came out first.
-
yeah it did(it's opf italia right)
-
lol we released on nyaatorrents about 12 min before XP
-
Wow, it look like the argument diffused after that one thing was pointed out… That makes me happy, since you're all generally pretty swell and helpful people.
Thanks, even though I haven't had time to watch it yet.
-
hmm shoiuld I release a script since there aren't any out atm?
it'll be non weaaboo(or whatever ye call it) -
A script release would be wonderful! I really like those.
-
hmm okay I'll see what I can do
edit: I'm skipping school today so I'll see what I can do -
Hey thanks for the sub but I've got a question. What's the different between Gomen and Gomenasai, and also when it said Kaizoku-dan, does the dan make it plural like Pirates? Thanks. Also it's good to see see that no ones fighting. In my opinion it's pointless to argue to such an extent over one little thing, it's one thing to point it out and another to flame it. Anyway, if someone could answer my question I'd be really grateful. Thanks!
-
formality is the difference, but that isn't what is being said. "Hikkome Kiddo kaizoku-dan" or "Back off Kidd Pirates" and yes its plural as in multiple pirates from Kidd's group.
-

annoying how hard finding the meaning to hikkome can be just because of a sound extension in the original kana, not even one of 5 or so romaji dictionaries found hikkome when I searched hikome, that's just Effed up.
and as far as I know, the dan suffix is more or less a "squad" or "Brigade", like he was addressing the entire crew, for simple plural, he could have said kaizoku-tachi, right?
-
yeah, dan is more along the lines of group-squad etc, but since the crew is called the Kidd Pirates, I think that is sufficient. In regards to hikkome, I've seen it used so many times that it didn't require any research on my part as I was tlcing. That being said, I could see it being difficult to understand if you hadn't heard it before.
-
When do you -asai? (Gomenasai)
-
When do you -asai? (Gomenasai)
It's gomen nasai actually, double N.
Gomen is the informal way to say it, when you put -nasai after it, it's more formal. It also depends on how deeply you want to apologize. Nasai puts more weight to it.
-
lolol at people still spreading the Italian rip shit xD it's still happening there are just some dumb asses these days
-
ACSF are the best without any doubt.
-
That's the first time I've ever heard something like that on apforums
we get that alot on our forums though
thanks :) -
