@Dixxy:
I think they were just updating their website with the more accurate news. Still, they used almost the exact same wording, and I kind of think this particular press release MIGHT have been crafted CAREFULLY.
crafted carefully?:wassat:

I can't open up that PDF file… it says it's broken or something. =/

It seems like they might have chosen their words carefully when they made that statement. They didn't just throw something together.
I like this development, at least it shows Toei might be on the Same Page as FUNi, rather than being overtly upset over it all.
Not really. All it really shows is that Toei is capable of using copy/paste.
Make a petition or something.
It at least shows that they want to take legal action against whoever started this whole mess.

I was thinking the same exact thing. Thanks for taking the words right out of my mouth.
The Fact that they Copy-pasted FUNis release instead of making one that said something like "Due to this Matter, the Simulcast will be canceled" means they too feel it's just "On Hold". At least for now.
That's the good thing about this.
I think the one Japanese company that would be most pissed would be Fuji TV, since they're the channel that was supposed to show the episode first.

True.
Just out of curiosity, has anyone called yet?
Not really. All it really shows is that Toei is capable of using copy/paste.
Either that or they were the ones that wrote the statement. I'm not pointing fingers, though… just speculating...
According to FUNimation's twitter the video portal should be back up soon. Let's wait and see. . .

Funi's video portal isn't where the OP stuff happens - the OP stuff happens on the One Piece site. Granted I get the idea some of the epis eventually got to the video portal but I think the main attraction would still be at the One Piece website.

Well the FUNi portal obviously went down due to this whole One Piece mess last week. Once the portal goes back up, I'm hoping we'll get some actual information about the fate of the simulcast.
I have a feeling we'll still get it.
Seeing Toei Copy-Paste FUNi's statement made me a lot more optimistic that Toei may be treating the situation the same as FUNi, and aren't blaming FUNi (At least not entirely)
After seeing Toei ALSO say it's just "On Hold" and we won't be seeing it for "The Immediate Future", I'm now confident we will be seeing the simulcast return eventually.
Yeah, once the Video Portal comes back up and a Simulcast episode goes up and it's not leaked, we might get some news.
Hopefully…
Well, at least there's some positive news in the midst of all this worry. ^_^
I guess tomorrow we will have to wait for the fansubs again ….
I'm not at the con but AnimeNext is this weekend and Funi's panel should be going on RIGHT NOW. We might get some news on this soon!
Well, it looks like they are in the process of fixing the video portal now;
NOTICE: This site is undergoing maintenance operations. Please pardon any service interruptions.
This message will be removed when we are complete. If you experience an error, first try refreshing the page,
then please post the episode in question here. Thank you for your understanding.

Ive checked, and quite a few of the videos are now playable. Nothing from OP yet, but if they are working on it today, we may very well have a chance at Funi-dubbed OP tonight or tomorrow

They might need to wait for the negotiations with Toei and Fuji TV to be done with before we even get official word on the episodes coming back.
I'm a little surprised we haven't heard much from the Funimation panel at AnimeNext yet, actually. The panel's been over for nearly two hours.

But that's just for the subbed episodes right? Surely they wouldn't care if Funimation puts their own dubbed episodes online.

If only the simulcast episodes were an issue we would still have the early episodes on onepieceofficial.com. The whole stream itself is in question right now.

I seriously doubt it. As Dixxy Mouri said, it's not just the Simulcast that is to be worried about. All One Piece streaming is.
I really wish they would give us some information at least… I haven't seen any One Piece episodes since 402 and I'm getting impatient. But as I said earlier, hopefully Toei and the other Japanese companies will put their trust in FUNimation after they see that the security has improved and that there are no more leaks because FUNimation won't upload them before they air in Japan.
Seriously, if they don't upload them before they air in Japan then what is there to be worried about for them? There won't be any more leaks in that case.
I personally wouldn't care if I had to wait until Monday to watch the FUNi sub episode, so long as it's posted. A later video is better than no video at all, right?
Still holding out hope they'll post 403-4?? if and when they finally get the simulcast going again. It'd be later but better than not at all.
We don't know that for sure.
I know we don't know that for sure; that's why I said "Still holding out hope." But do you think it would be a good idea for the other episodes to be posted as well?

Oh, well, sorry then, you made it sound like you thought that was the way it is going to be.
And I'm sure if we get it back they'll post up older episodes again just like they were doing.
Hey guys. I was at AnimeNext this weekend and went to the FUNImation panel. The representative there was awesome and he assured us that the simulcast will be up soon. He said something along the lines of, it WILL be back up eventually, hopefully sooner rather than later, but the details are too complicated to be explained in only one hour of a panel. So, there we go, straight from the horse's mouth. He says the leak was a human error on thier part and I believe that after they fix the security on the site the simulcast will be back up. Don't quote me on anything, I'm just relaying stuff that I heard at the convention, I don't work for Funimation or anything like that, I'm just a fan that is very relieved to hear the simulcast will eventually be back.
Hopefully this is true. Now if Bandai Namco would release the OP games. shame they didn't annonce them at E3

I was waiting for good news that wasn't pure speculation. Woot! Sounds like there's still going to be some waiting on our part though.
You know what they say, though: "good things come to those who wait." We wait, and OP will come. :D
Actually, I think I found a live feed for the panel and I saw nothing about the simulcast in the records of the feed. The feeder said there was a lot to keep up with right around the time they were talking about the newest box but I'm taking this with a grain of salt.
There we go, problem solved.

Was it Adam Sheehan you spoke with?
Hopefully this is true. Now if Bandai Namco would release the OP games. shame they didn't annonce them at E3
If that does happen that's way down the line. The games that were released (only one of which wasn't done by 4Kids) haven't sold very well, and "Unlimited Adventure" may have sold okay (from what I heard from a Namco Bandai rep), but because of modest expectations it had a limited release and limited marketing. If "One Piece" wasn't on T.V. at the time that game wouldn't have come out in America. Unless "One Piece" comes back on T.V., the only way I could see more "One Piece" games getting released here is if the legal "One Piece" streaming and simulcast does really well (that and rising sales in DVD and manga).
@Yuugi's:
Was it Adam Sheehan you spoke with?
Sorry, I don't remember his name. He said he was the Senior Executive of Public Relations or something like that, I just remember he was Senior something to do with talking to the fans. He was a great guy though, very funny.
Well thats enough proof to me to find this information is true.
The info ace_san_is_awesome is mentioning might not be in the panel report because he asked Adam after the panel was over, I've done that before. Am I right?
Actually, there was another Funi panel feed I found that's more consistant with what he said.
Namely, there were TWO Funimation panels - the industry panel and the sneak peak panel. The sneak peak panel had more information about the simulcast available.
Namely, NO TITLES WERE LOST.
15:05:31 <bay|anext|funisp>Q: With the streaming incident….
15:05:32 <bay|anext|funisp>A: I'll give you guys an update....
15:05:52 <bay|anext|funisp>recently we were trying to start streaming one piece 1 hour after the japanese broadcast..'
15:05:59 <bay|anext|funisp>and there was a human error on our part that actually popped up
15:06:03 <bay|anext|funisp>and the episode got leaked to the internet early
15:06:15 <bay|anext|funisp>so we... went to try and fix it
15:06:19 <bay|anext|funisp>and between that... the same thing happened with FMA and phantom
15:06:21 <bay|anext|funisp>again, human error
15:06:36 <bay|anext|funisp>and we basically took down the video portal for now to correct this and add security and make sure japan is happy with it
15:06:52 <bay|anext|funisp>there are press releases on ANN and FUNi and an interview with Gen
15:06:56 <bay|anext|funisp>We still have all the titles
15:06:57 <bay|anext|funisp>we aren't losing any of them
15:10:13 <bay|anext|funisp>they hope to have news about the video portal soon</bay|anext|funisp></bay|anext|funisp></bay|anext|funisp></bay|anext|funisp></bay|anext|funisp></bay|anext|funisp></bay|anext|funisp></bay|anext|funisp></bay|anext|funisp></bay|anext|funisp></bay|anext|funisp></bay|anext|funisp></bay|anext|funisp>
The other one was a lot more vague so I'm not posting it here, but this is from the sneak peak panel. But I do think firecrouch's question is valid - did you ask AFTER the panel or during the panel?
But not having lost any of them is so, what do I say, general?
I mean they could mean they haven't lost the license to them and nothing more than that. =/
The video portal is back down for maintenance, by the way.
Sorry, I don't remember his name. He said he was the Senior Executive of Public Relations or something like that, I just remember he was Senior something to do with talking to the fans. He was a great guy though, very funny.
Just thought of something - what did he look like?
Yay, Concrete proof from FUNi that we won't be losing the DVDs, ok, now I'm happy.
Sorry I was so pessimistic guys, just FUNi's refusal to address anything, even that point had me concerned. Now I'm fine.
The guy was kinda balding and wore glasses if I remember correctly. Also, I didn't ask him personally, he announced to the whole panel when he brought up the release date of the next boxset. Everyone in the room heard it, unfortunatly I didn't have a camera to record so this is mostly by memory but I did write down "WILL be back" in my little notebook during the panel to remind myself. Like I said before though, this was just something the guy mentioned along with the boxset but he definatly said the One Piece videos will be back eventually, hopefully sooner rather than later but there is NO guarentee it will be soon.
Also, the panel I went to was on Saturday at 6:00PM, I wasn't able to go to the convention on Friday. If there was more information at the sneak peak on Friday, please take that information as well. I'm just relaying what I heard. P.S. I'm a girl BTW
I'm just relaying what I heard. P.S. I'm a girl BTW
Well now we KNOW that this is fake.
Well now we KNOW that this is fake.
How do you "know" this is a fake?:wassat: I heard it from the representative and I'm telling you guys. I'm telling the truth from what was said at that panel.
He was joking.
He made a joke that now that we know you're a girl you're obviously faking us out.
Look, he added a smiley XD
