"Nathan, Kelly, Curtis, Alisha and Simon are a group of misfits. They have nothing in common except the 'Community Payback' scheme they’ve been lumbered with at their local community centre, following varying charges and misdemeanours. When the group get caught in a freak storm on day 1, their lives are changed forever. Misfits is a British TV show that had it's first season finish recently (with a total of 6 eps.!) A DVD collecting the Season is said to be released by/after X-Mas.

You can find torrents/downloadable links for the show BTW. Do take note that this show is 18+ , and I would strongly advise watching Ep. 2 alone...with no interference, trust me on this one.

No word yet on Season 2, but I'm expecting it to be as good or even better than the first.

I watched the first two eps. It was quite good. I wouldn't say the best or funniest thing I ever saw. But it was average.

Well, sorry for the double post, but the first episode of the second series has just aired.

Was fucking awesome, and I loved how Nathan got all cocky over his immortality! I'm guessing that the mysterious stranger who helped them is in fact their social worker.

Anyone else watch the show?

I hope they don't focus too much on the Alisha-Simon crap, I prefer it when its just them running into trouble with someone else with powers or finding out more about their past because its a lot funnier. The show is enjoyable because it doesn't take itself too seriously not because of the deep character relations. Granted it was only half an episode i didn't like

I agree that the shows awesome because it's not afraid to make fun of itself, but I quite like the shows that I watch to have an underlying storyline, rather than just continuous monster of the week storylines. It keeps it fresh and allows for some character development then.
I hope the next episode has a bit more on the relationship between Kelly and Nathan (I know Kelly thought it felt "Wrong" but watching those two go back and forth was one of my favourite parts about the series)

I do aslso like most of the relationships that have already been formed like Nathan and Kelly, Simon and the probation worker, and Nathan and his Dad. However with only 6 episodes a season i think it would be too hard to have some character development without making it feel tacked on becasue of the sudden change. Though now i think about it the episode with Nathan and his brother was great so maybe the character can handle the change

Yeah, The British Tv series length does get a bit irritating, wish it was 12 episodes long like most of the stuff on HBO.
With the character development I've been noticing a few changes in the attitudes of the cast since the first episode.
Obviously there's the relationships (Curtis and Alisha (however spelt), Kelly and Nathan etc), but minor things like Simons confidence increase and the gang starting the treat him as one of them. That's the kind of thing that I like to see.

I'm pissed that I wasn't right about the social worker, but now I wonder how Simon got back into time… perhaps in the future, their powers are more developed and the black guy(cant remember his name for the life of me) now has the ability to use his power on other people, which would also explain Simon's 'invisibility' to Alisha's power.

I had fairly similar thoughts to you, though

! I get the feeling that future Simon may be up to something. He set up Curtis and that other new girl and now he's made Alisha fall in love with him. Its obvious she dies in his timeline, so it could just be that he's trying to get here with him so that she isn't where she's supposed to be when she dies? I dunno, My spider-sense is tingling (Future Simon is still totally awesome though, even if he does turn out to be evil)

Kinda on the fence about this still. Some episodes are great while other's aren't.

Loved it.

But I notice that the one-episode stories and the main storyline of the series don't really work side to side.

It's like - tatooist - future simon - gamer - future simon. I feel they could make the transitions more smooth. Putting in a package of peanuts doesn't do that for me.

! Future Simon dying like that happened a lot sooner than I was expecting it to. And it looks like I was way off thinking he was evil.

Last nights episode wasn't as good as last weeks, but i still enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like was they didn't explain why the gamer guy was like he was. That's probably gonna add fuel to the violent videogame debate over here now :-(
Plus, I get the feeling that my girlfriend is starting to think that people who play games can end up like that

Channel 4 isn't exactly hollywood.

I liked the fact that the gamer looked like the main character in one of the GTA games.

Interesting series, I just caught up with all of it, my favorite episodes seem to be S1E2 and S2E2, both focusing on Nathan, who is annoying at times, but channels a lot of Deadpool during other times and is quite enjoyable as a character.

I like how they are able to fit an entire season into 6 episodes, and other shows can't even fit a season's worth of story into 20 episodes, the writing is top notch.

Didn't really enjoy the last one that much. The dad got a minor role and was simply a repeat of the first probation worker.

But I did like Bruno. When he climbed the building with Kelly, it was an awesome reference to King Kong.

You just know Nathan will be making jokes on Kelly for monkey boy, just like they did with him and grandma.

The last episode was awesome, but I don't understand how Nathan can retain the ability to see dead people. That was supposed to be a short-term reversal.

Dunno about anyone else. But I thought last night's was kinda poor. And kinda annoyed how the girl with teleportation simply bitched about it and then died. Was there ANY reason whatsoever for her to have gotten it?

! The travel backward in time power had to go anyway, imo there is a rather limited amount of "whoops reload" a story can handle.
