hyakumai gawara = 100 roof tiles
senmai gawara = 1000 roof tiles
karakusa gawara = decorative roof tiles

Demon Rin,　正拳 is a straight fist that attacks right in front of you (正面), same as the boxing "straight".
正拳突き (seiken-zuki) is the usual term.

A fist clentched, and back of the hand facing up is a 正拳, and facing down is 裏拳.
Normally you hit straights with 正拳, of course. :)

While Jinbei's was Karakua-Gawara Seiken, so not the exact same.

I'm sorry, I know this fanbase hates translating things, but for the Love of God AT LEAST PUT A NOTE THAT TELLS WHAT IT MEANS!!

Tell me about it. This is what pisses me off about scanlations and fansubs. What purpose does leaving things untranslated serve, WHAT? I remember getting into an argument with someone from Franky House a while ago, and he/she claimed that they believed their translation was just as good as any professional from VIZ. Arguments like that don't very good when you leave whole words untranslated.

No, this was pointed out a long time ago when he was reintroduced. The scar is on the opposite side of where he did the headbutting.

Because Brooke fights using his agility and thus the ability to stick and move is what makes his form of fighting viable. However looking at Jimbei, if it is such a move then a/ why didn't Arlongs crew use Haki? and b/ why didn't he move as surely given such a delayed effect, he could've been hit before they fainted/got knocked out.

Well, Kuroobi used something like Jinbei, indeed.
Except Jinbei fucked up everyone, while Sanji got up after Kuroobi's punch, then again, he did have something else planned.
Also, that Merman from Davy Back Fight had a technique à lá Karate, and the water was going à lá Desert Spada, but we never found out if its a Fishman Karate technique.

One hell of a chapter, good to see the whole prisoners out on rampage. It'll be nice to see the prisoners giving serious headache to Hanyabal before Shiryuu turns up to crash in the parade. I was kind of hoping that Jinbei's first attack something more of a eye candy though.

The explanation for Jimbei's punch is easy: air displacement. That poor jailer just got hit by the air his fist displaced.

Now I most definitely want a Fishman Karate user with the Straw Hats. One who is not Jimbei.

As for my position on the translation debate, I don't mind if attacks aren't translated, but for the love of god, use footnotes if that's the case! If I didn't already know what ''ame'' meant I would've been all ''Wha…?''
