Yeah, that's Oda error that was corrected in the volume. But it would be nice if the hook was a fake.

@ Capt Haggis: The hook is Crocodile's symbol (well that and his scar), taking that away from him is degrading his character; and that's not good.

His left hand is definately gone. Oda himself said that the one cover picture where his left hand is intact without the hook was a mistake.

That was a mistake. He had the hook back when that cover appeared in the volumes. I still don't get why they let him keep it. It's still a weapon, after all.

Another thing that bugs me, shouldn't Ivankov's head be too big for his body to move by the end of the chapter? Really.

Anyway, still more style over substance really, but I'm looking forward to Buggy and Mr. 3 being all shocked when they encounter Luffy and Mr. 2 again.

It was never explained before but Gaol bullet seems some special bullet effective for ability users but than we see croc being not effected by it.. but he might have just tunred himself in to a sand before the bullet hits but anyway even if its effective as they are minor characters it wont do much against major characters.. well Usopp might use it later.

Does somebody have a link to the interview (I think it was one of Greg's posts) where Oda commented how he's excited to start drawing a certain character with an eyepatch? I'm just curious, because I'd like to check if that certain someone was supposed to be a pirate or not. If not, then perhaps Shiryu could be that character. Would be kickass methinks.

That may be, but someone commented on the validity of the translation a little while back. Let me dig up the post. It essentially stated/suggested that the rookies were sent somewhere to do labor somewhere rather than being sent to Impel Down. Some place like Tequila Wolf, for example. Going to lunch right now, so I will look for the post when I get back.

The way I understood it Sengoku simply said that the labor dept. should take care of the paper work. That's all.

Rain is a new move, but it looks to just be a massive fodder clearing move. I don't see it being very effective against someone strong.

It's the same move as Storm, just upside down. Last time I checked, Storm took out Crocodile.

Hmm, it's similar but it's not the same. Storm starts with twisting up a balloon to create upward and rotational momentum, but with rain he simply slung himself in the air with his arm. Storm relies on the extra rotational energy to add to the strikes, whereas I think rain just requires the height. There may have been rotation for rain, but I didn't see it.

I got the impression that rain was just getting up really high and dropping punches over a very wide area. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think Luffy will ~~unleash~~ introduce his powerful new moves on foddder.

OMG….that was redonkulous...

I love how all of the (male) Baroque Works is essentially reuniting, but each is part of his own little posse. We got Mr. 0 and Mr. 1, who will likely go and do their own thing. We got Mr. 2 who is Luffy's nakama. Then we got buggy and Mr. 3 doing their own little thing. Yet, in the end, all of them seem poised to join back together and head to Marine Headquarters.

The cast is also getting ridiculous...I'm losing track here. For Luffy's side, we got the following big name characters:

Team Awesome: Luffy, Jimbei, Ivankov, Inazuma, Crocodile, and Mr. 1
Team Impel: Magellan, Shiryuu, 3 Demon Guards, Saldeath, Sadichan, Hannybal

I hope I didn't miss anybody

You missed Bon chan! I'd put Shiryuu on Team Unrecruited for now, personally. Then I'd put Catarina Devon, Busco Shot, and San Juan Wolf on that team as well. Then Buggy and Mr 3 can be on Team Peon.

What is that weapon Hannibal is carrying? Looks mysterious, plus he stated he would fight them himself.. Sounds rather bold, perhaps he is stronger then he appears. Maybe the whole Bon Clay trick was designed to avert our attention from Hannibal's true capabilities? This chapters leaves me with many questions???

Gaol bullets are most likely sea stone bullets. No other reason to mention it after making it a point to name the 3 escapees as DF users.

Why does Iva make that plan about freeing prisoners and making them allies from lvls 5-1? Are the lvl 6 prisoners that powerful/untrustworthy that'd it'd be too much of a trouble or were they in just that much of a rush on lvl 6?

I'm interested to see how Mr. 3's and buggy's plan will mess up or intertwine with Luffy's.

i feel like we won't see them at all, they are planning on using this chaos to sneak aboard a ship. so most likely the next time we see them is when luffy and co are taking over a battleship that they happen to be hiding on.

seems to be a running gag that they unwillingly get involved and just have plain bad luck (or is it good luck). so thats my guess.
