One piece 385 NAKAMA -fansub
-
Urgh, a fansubber group with the name as the word I hate the most about One Piece.
Sure as well won't download. -
Pretty much every anime uses it. Plenty of them translate it incorrectly as "friend" so you'd be better off getting used to it.
Thanks for the release, though ya kinda wrote their name oddly… It's "Nakama-Fansubs" not "NAKAMA -fansub". -
I think he'd be better off just watching another fansub that doesn't leave words unnecessarily untranslated.
-
Yes, like Yibis.
FUCK YEAH!!!
-
If you know what the word means already, why would it matter… it's not like it's hard to figure out. You've gotta be just obsessive compulsive if you can't handle works like that untranslated if you know what they mean. But I don't really care much about it, and I think it is better to translate it as long as you don't translate it as "friend" but to actively choose who to watch because of it's a little thick-headed.

It's Annoying to some people.
Attacks and names of things I and some others can handle, Words that are just normal Japanese that SHOULD be translated annoy some people though. -

Seriously, what is the point in posting in this thread just to tell them you wont be downloading it?
And before you start throwing around the "weeaboo" word(it seems that lately, people have been using that word without any thought), realize that some words are best untranslated(great example: the word "sensei". Any american martial arts movie/whatever uses the word "sensei" rather than teacher/instructor). And if you already know what it means in english, then don't worry about it!Back on-topic, glad to see Nakama getting active again. Hopefully they will get caught up soon. When I saw the topic, I actually thought it said "395", meaning they would have done a same-day release :P

Sure as well won't download.I'd call that as much a troll as anyone who whines about translating or untranslating words.
Seriously, if you don't like words (un)translated, don't sit there and knock the group who put the effort into doing the job because they did it the way they wanted to. Just download, or in this case, wait to download, the ones you want from the group that does it the way that pleases your little sensibilities. Every time I accidentally read one of these stupid posts about this, it's like I can hear nails scratching on a chalkboard while feeling like I'm locked in a soundproof room with the most disgusting nerds at Otakon arguing over whether Yoruichi is actually mulatto.
Personally, I don't give a toss if it's translated or untranslated. It doesn't matter at all to me. Anyone who's watched the series from the beginning knows the meanings of the words they leave untranslated, and this is one series that if you start watching it in the middle, you won't get it. If you started with dubs, you probably don't like it. This group does fairly good quality work on the average, NF and ACSF maybe don't use the absolute best raws out there, but if you aren't putting it up on the super high def screen in your home cinema, then it's perfectly fine.
-
Well there's a difference between regular words and things the other language doesn't have, which is why some things aren't translated. Not translating nakama isn't too big a deal, but the idea is it's just a regular noun. Like not translating "gomennasai" or "arigatou" because the translators think people know what it means, seems more annoying than anything else. Nakama does have reasoning behind it because rarely used english words like "comrade" "crewmate" etc don't always fit or can't be used consistently. Plus it's used a lot in this anime and all.
It's nice to see this group's getting active again. They're only 10 episodes behind so it's not an near-impossible gap.

People who whine incessantly just like you've been doing for months now. You're wasting your time as well as anyone who reads what you have to say. If you like everything translated so much, then spend your time in Yibis's threads and stop trolling the other group's threads. Let fansubbers do it however they want to do it.
I think it is super awesome that there are three groups releasing the latest episodes, when there were none just a few months back. I really appreciated what Vegard, Desi, and Elric did to keep the thing rolling, as do my buddies who drop by watch the latest every weekend. Generally, no one I know personally cares that much if words are translated or untranslated, or if the grammar isn't perfect. I suspect it is an uberdork thing that I do not get for whatever reason. I used to seed Yibis's releases because I appreciated what they were doing, wanted to contribute anonymously however I could, but when their fanboys started trolling the other group's threads EVERY WEEK, I kind of lost the motivation to bother allocating that bandwidth on my fileserver.

I'm not whining, I don't care what this group does.
I saw this thread was here, opened it and scrolled through it so the thread wouldn't appear active for me anymore, saw him basically ask "Why do you people who hate nakama even care" and answered.
If he didn't want an answer, he shouldn't have asked the question.
I wont be coming back to this thread now, it's a non-issue to me. -

Read her post very carefully. Care to explain where in the entire post did she whine?
You are way too defensive of Namaka-Fansubs. They're big boys/girls, they can take criticism and not let it affect them. So why should our criticism of their work irritate you so much?
-

Of course nothing is more annoying than a pot calling a kettle black.
-
damn you! I just read the 5 at the end and though it was episode 395 :/
but the quality is good. -
Urgh, a fansubber group with the name as the word I hate the most about One Piece.
Sure as well won't download.People like you make me sick. Try looking into things more before you judge our group just because of the name. We don't use nakama that much anyway.
But that being said, as a user above said, we can take criticism. After all, if you get all praise it will all go to your head. But I hate people who complain about stupid stuff with nothing to back it up.

Read: He critcized a fansub group I like, so I'l just BAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWW and say its offtopic.
Nakama is fucking Weeaboo and unnecessary.
Now, I'm on my little Fansub group, so I can do whatever shit I want, right? RIGHT?"Okay… so now... in One Piece, each time Luffy mentions Water, it has to be "Mizu", due to its special meaning in Japanese, and the way Luffy speaks."
See what I did there? Just used the same arguments that you guys use to justify Nakama.
Except maybe the obviously laughable "It can mean a lot of things like Friend, Crewmember, etc."
Well.. what about "COMRADE"?
You know... that word from the language YOU'RE TRYING TO SUBTITLE TO.People like you make me sick. Try looking into things more before you judge our group just because of the name. We don't use nakama that much anyway.

People like you make me sick. Try seeing the reason why I said that.
Allow me to exemplify.A cuisine tester tastes a chocolate cake, he discovers the cake is made of shit.
The cuisine tester says "This shit is awful."
The cooker says: "People like you make me sick. Try eating into things more before you judge our food just because of our shit. We don't use shit that much anyway."Well then, the fact is that you use Nakama, which is unnecessary and fucking weeaboo.
–----------------
The reason why I came here at this thread is to rand at the fucking word Nakama that has been cursing very Non-Weeaboo's One Piece fans.
Of course, there are some Non-Weeaboo's that get up in the trend and start using Nakama too, but its really annoying... -

"weeaboo this", "weeaboo that", constantly attacking groups with no way to back up your claims other than using a stupid 4chan word. I won't waste my time arguing with you about this either.

Weeaboo = 4Chan Word?
I lol'd -
Weeaboo = 4Chan Word?
I lol'dI'm sorry that you're such a nerd dude– but it really is a 4chan word.
Also, this thread has gone from being a release notification, to a painfully mundane bitch fight (and I'm contributing :blink:.)
(BTW... dys020288 should really not be allowed to post topics =_=. Everything he types looks like the work of a retarded 8 year old. Even if he is a native speaker of another language, that doesnt explain the bizarre formatting on everything he does-- AND webtranslators do a better job.)

You know... that word from the language YOU'RE TRYING TO SUBTITLE TO."bawing", lol. You sure are an angry little fellow, ain'tcha?
If someone doesn't like what you said, they are automatically "bawing", and if they prefer some things in their original language, then the person is a "weeaboo". You really should educate yourself on some of these terms before using them again.Sensei has a direct translation too, and guess what!? That word tends to stay untranslated in most american movies/shows/cartoons. Does that mean that all of those are "weeaboo" now too? I guess to you they are, right? I mean, no word that any english-speaker reads should ever be foreign, right? That is what you are implying, after all. Screw people being able to culture themselfs, it is all about translating every last word!!!
Lol… Seriously, you were/are judging Nakama fansubs just by their name, without even bothering to see how they actually sub. I would tell you to "not judge a book by it's cover", but I doubt you would be open-minded enough to even try it.
Oh, and fyi… I never said I liked Nakama fansubs(I actually prefer yibis). I came in here because I thought they were releasing a same-day sub (the 5 at the end caught me offguard), then saw you with your factless and opinionated attack on the group, and decided to respond.
-
I don't care either way about the use of the word nakama, but theres a bunch of people who hate seeing names and everything else translated out, so Nakama Fansubs definitely has an audience. I prefer them to Yibis and can't wait till they catch up.
And honestly I think the people who prefer stuff translated out and insist on having English phrases for everything should stick to dubs. In most cases the whole concept of a dub is to take a show/movie and change it for a different demographic (via language or content or otherwise) who would prefer that to the original work, so I think that fits this situation nicely.
-
yeah critize them, who bring to you the stuff you like…
just watch the sub you prefer and don`t moan about the others...
nobody forces you to watch this subs...we should be gladful that some bring the stuff to us...otherwise translate it by yourself and we all would be gladnuffsaid
-
It is safe to say that I am more pickier about my fansubs than most (Hey ACSF, when are you going to start spelling your words correctly?). In fact, it's safe to say that I'm pickier than I should be for most things.
The Nakama issue doesn't bother me. It's not needed, but there is a legitimate argument for its use.
What I'm getting at is that if it doesn't bother me, it probably shouldn't bother anybody. Seriously, who here wants to be known as the guy more picky and unreasonable than me?
-

… yeah you're pretty picky but you have this ability to convince people you're right even if you're wrong. I always liked that about you.

Really?
Wow, I'l be honest, didn't know.
Oh well, I guess we learn something everyday."bawing", lol. You sure are an angry little fellow, ain'tcha?

Are you implying they don't use Nakama, yet have the name Nakama?
I hate the Nakama word, thought I should share my views, not personal.
Sorry, I misjudged you then, but by your post, it seemed like you were crying over a fucking post, no offense.@Don:

Why? Can't I say that I hate the word Nakama? I have to stay quiet about the ones I hate? Can't I say my criticisms? Just because they sub a show I like?
HURRRRR DURRRRRRRRRRRRR
Here's my reply to your dumbness and pathetic-ness.
Oh damn, I guess I'm really pathetic and dumb because some random guy I don't know said that to me ;___;
"You fail :)"
And even worse, I fail ;________;
2 Words, oh wait, and a smiley.
LOL, YOU'RE SO FUNNY xD
Its like I'm really talking to a 12 years old.
-
Jesus Christ, look at this idiot going on and on like he's impressing someone. I could care less if you hate me and my fellow fansubbers. I wouldn't want my site polluted with your idiocy.
-
Let me just note: I only ever came into this thread to answer Kewl's question, I'm not affiliated with this guy…
-
-
Yes, my question has been answered. I get it. No need to keep explaining. Let this thread die now…
-
Yeah, but this guy is really nuts and I dont want people lumping me in with him >_>
-
Rin here has enough to deal with being lumped in with a douchebag like me breathing down her neck on certain subjects. :)
-
Wow… that guy has a lot of hate for a word.
-
Well I intended not to respond to the guy again, since it's dumb to in the first place, but I couldn't help it… I don't care if you like a word or don't like a word. That's NO excuse to be a doucehbag. End of story.
-
Oh damn, I guess I'm really pathetic and dumb because some random guy I don't know said that to me ;___;
Random guy? the internet is filled with random guys, don't get me started. You yourself, is a random guy to me. So how does a fansubber feels ? when a random guy says that the word nakama sucks and that he won't even bother with their fansubs when they put in so many efforts?
Now, you ARE pathetic and dumb. :)And even worse, I fail ;________;
Don't worry, all of us know that. It's a proven fact.
LOL, YOU'RE SO FUNNY xD
Its like I'm really talking to a 12 years old.
and a 12 years old is talking to a 2 year old . Oh well, at least a "12 year old" knows what nakama is , and appreciate it .
-
Thanks for the sub Nakama, I always appreciate it.
