Anyways, I don't know if this has been answered or not, but how far ahead is the One Piece anime than it is actually showing? Sorry, I don't know how to word the question well.
This question came up when I saw the new opening, and saw how there were scenes from Amazon Lily and Impel Down already.
This op is quite similar to the one that Show up Robin, before she was part of the crew. As well as the op that lasted like 11 episode, of Enies Lobbies, in which show the fights and other stuff. The best One Piece OP are the ones with the big spoilers. ^_^
the anime just covered ch. 501, and there are only 538 chapters. so its what 37 or 38 chapter behind. which is really close compared to the other two naruto and bleach. though bleach anime does like 3 chapters an episode it seems so that goes by quickly. naruto is really far away, but i have no idea what the hell is ever going on in anime, always throwing in some filler like after every 10 canon episodes
37/38 chapters is a pretty safe gap, if it's One Piece..i remember when Kokoro no Chizu premiered, and people freaked out about the spoiler scenes too ("omg Franky House?? Usopp vs Luffy already?"). The distance was pretty much the same back then, around 35 chapters.
Now Bleach..the anime has been a mess lately. It's only 36 chapters behind, and we all know how much content Kubo covers in a week. At least the Pendulum flashback was nicely done and didn't suffer from it.
36 chapters behind, with 4-5 chapters released a week barring a break, means that they're roughly 8 months behind the manga. And at the current pace they're going, which is roughly 1 chapter per episode, it'll be that way for a while.
