Typical Iva - Audience-fun-dialogue from last chap (not entirely my sense of humor, but whatsoever, it's Japanese humor).
But don't you think this manga was all-serious when Luffy got poisoned by Magellan?
I think Oda jus wanted to bring some "brightness" back to the story by bringing some random fun scenes after Luffy's imprisonment and the "peak of hopelessness".

Meh, it was April 1st somewhere on planet Earth or at least very close to when the prank was initiated, so if there's grass on the pitch… like... ya'know! Plus, this prank was entirely time sensitive, so if it was attempted much later or in complete COMPLIANCE WITH THE UNITED STATES OF A-MERRYKUR time, it would've likely, nay most definitely failed.

Go look at the pics for 535, there were no pink nails there, just normal ones. I should know, since I gave brennen that idea to begin with.

Today's excitement has pretty much guaranteed me staying up til 3AM or whenever the Himajin pics go up. It'll be worth it.

I really do feel strongly about this, since the act causing someone to believe a falsehood (in jest of course) despite their better judgment is an art form. A good prank could even be considered in the same vein as a magic trick. Managing to fool someone on April 1, when people are expecting it, is something to brag about. Launching a prank days beforehand and then reveling that it's a trick on April 1 is just cheap. Besides, the best pranks are always busted.

I argue against this, I'm used to reading magazines and such like. The planning is indeed done ahead, but it doesn't have to be done on 1st april exact, only revealed on that day. And it held together just long enough to be counted. I live in the UK and its now midnight, somewhere in the world April 1st started 12 hours ago and its now midday for them, the jokes been revealed to be fake in he last 12 hours, therefore its legit as a joke.

It wouldn't have counted if they had launched it say, Sunday or before, because it would have been WAY to obivous. :wassat:

I always love a good prank. But, a prank on any other day just isn't an April Fools Day prank (and yeah, time zones and such but you can't fool everyone now can you?). My only problem is the labeling, not the prank itself.

The spoiler didn't ring true to me because this would have been horrible pacing for the manga. 1 chapter Luffy is in pain and has 2 days of recovery time with 16hrs left until Ace's execution. The next chapter there are six hours left until Ace's execution meaning that Luffy somehow burst out of the recovery room 38hrs early, Ivankov had no problem with this and Luffy has no visible symptoms.
