Of all the characters we have, who would you say is the most dedicated to Luffy and seeing him become the Pirate King (i know it's hard with them all having their own goals and theym all being friends but i thought the question would make for an interesting answer as i know who i think it is. oh well through the power of discussion, we'll find out the truth).

hmm…most dedicated...IMHO...noone.
Zoro said as long as luffy don't bother him with his swordsman's dream, he'll remain with luffy.
Nami juz wanna "use" luffy as a mean to complete the world map of hers.
Usopp juz wanna prove he's a man and go back to his island.
Sanji juz wanna find all blue and cook as many fish as possible
Chopper wanna know more about the world outside the snow island.
Robin...well...she awns to know the history.
If you actually notice, all of these dreams are connected to luffy's as they have to explore the grand line to find out all these facts and achieve this dreams. In return of helping them achieve this dreams, they would help luffy achieve his. I say there's no dedication but of pure concidence.
My 2 cents worth of course. But of course their friendship stay strong. now dun flame me now.

There has been/is conflict between certain members of the crew (Nami during the Arlong saga, what's happening in Water Seven), but they haven't been tested against their own dreams. Would any of them give up their dreams if they had to, for their nakama? I know a certain character has (I'm just skipping spoilers just in case) but personally I feel that person has the least faith in their dream than any other straw hat.
Personally, I'm curious about Zoro. I'm very sure that he cares about his captain and nakama, but he doesn't really show it. He doesn't express himself as much as the others, and I can't help but wonder if that is building up to something. I always imagined that pact he made with Luffy (if Luffy got in the way of his dream, he'd kill him) was foreshadowing future events.
I think they're all diedicated to Luffy, but Zoro and Nami seem to be the closest to him, in my opinion.

It's funny you say that LouLou as i personally feel that Nami would be the most likely to turn her back, thus far in teh story line i would say that his most dedicated folowers are Sanji and Zoro with Sanji just being Zoro on that front, they both really respect the heirachy of the ship and call him Captain more than anyone else, they both follow orders without question and are both insanely loyal.
-
i would say zoro because of his loyalty and faith in his captain he never questions luffy. but they are all very loyal
-
I agree with loulou that Zoro isn't very reliable - there's a difference between being best friends with someone and sticking with them forever. Zoro's primary wish is to be the best swordsman ever.
As for Sanji… Well, I get the feeling that Sanji would abandon Luffy any second if a pretty enough girl asked him.
Robin's a mystery, so I won't count her.
Nami is different than she was pre-Arlong. Since the Arlong arc, I think Nami has become more loyal towards Luffy. But, then again, being that it's Nami and all, we can't really assume anything. She might be screwing with Luffy for the money.
Ussop really respects Luffy. I think that he's probably very respectful towards him. However, he's very cowardly, too, so if he's in enough danger he'll run away - even if it is to come back later.
Chopper is probably the most loyal. He really respects Luffy, both for being a pirate captain and for being a 'freak' just like him. Besides, most of the interaction between Luffy and Chopper (and Ussop) is goofing around, so you can tell they're both good friends.
-
id say usopp ive held that opinion since alabasta when usopp stood up against impossbiel odds and fought the mr.4 pair for the sake of his captains dream of becoming pirate king
-
Tony Tony Chopper is the only one that would stay to help Luffy
Zoro is going to become the best swordman
Sanji is going to find the All Blue
Nami is going for the map of the World and all the money she can get
Usopp is going to be a great warrior of the sea
Nico Robin is going to learn "The True History"
Chopper is already a doctor and is already a pirate so he doesn't have a particular objective like the rest and that makes him the only one to stay with Luffy if they all make they're dreams come true
-
Other than Luffy..
I'd say Zoro. His life kinda shifted after Kuinas death/fragilality (which ever version u pick <_<)
*Sorry for fake word fragilality *
SO Zoro is kinda the most dedicated.. as side of Luffy.

**You know, Ussop could stay. In fact, there's an even bigger chance of him staying than leaving. He can be a brave warror of the sea in Luffy's crew, can't he?

I would have to say Zoro, he is the only Straw Hat I know that will obey Luffy without question.
-
Since Zoro was willing to take a beating from some small fries that he would easily beat under Luffy's orders I would say he's the most dedicated, no way any of the other characters would take such a beating and not bitch about it like any person usually would do.
I would say of sorts that Robin is the second most dedicated when it comes to what she did in the Water 7 arc.
-
Usopp and Nami tend to think differently than the others do. If Luffy tells Nami to do something that she disagrees with, she will immediately question it. Usopp… well. Usopp normally doesn't do anything that could result in pain. Only when he really has to, he won't be a chicken. They are loyal to Luffy, but not as much as the others.
Robin doesn't really do anything, so I don't know. xD She just hangs around.
Zoro and Sanji hold Luffy's orders in the highest regard. No matter what Luffy tells them to do, they will do it, even if they think differently. This has happened multiple times throughout the series and makes them seem more loyal than anyone else in the crew.
But, even with Zoro's and Sanji's higher respect for Luffy, I personally think Chopper is the most loyal. Maybe it is his innocence and naive charm that makes him seem more loyal, I am not sure. He has never questioned Luffy, and seems to be a lot more friendly than the others. I know Usopp is one of the more friendly ones, but he wants his own crew eventually... and then Water 7 events.
But yeah. Chopper. o.o
-
I know it's cliche, but I suspect the moment any of the crew seems on the cusp of achieving a goal, he'll throw out this whole litany about "I came on to accomplish Y, but the shared experience has become merit in itself.
-
Everyone in the crew has his/her own goals, just like Luffy. So the answear is noone.
-
are they not still someones crew?
-
I agree that Chopper's loyal, but I would count Robin as the 'most' loyal one…For those that hasn't seen the latest anime/manga, you probably wouldn't understand. For those that did, I do think it's true though - she gave up everything just for the crew, including the most important member, the captain.
It seems that Zoro needs a lot the assure him on the team. Of course, it could be just the anime (which is like another complete different story in my opinion), but without his memories he's just poof - out! Nami's quite the same, but with her entire encounter with Luffy, I would say she's pretty loyal by now. And Sanji...I'm never sure if he'll really abandon Luffy for a woman. It seems likely, as he does listen to Luffy almost all the time (and responses first too-^^ Ignore me, fangirlness here.), but he could still easily abandon his loyalties if a beautiful woman asks...
-
Well, every character is primarily concerned with their own dreams… But all lend though and effort to Luffy's.
I'll go with Zoro. The only one to constantly think about the Pirate King issue is Luffy himself, but Zoro, I think, is the most attached to Luffy and therefore to Luffy's dream. Maybe it's that certain kind of bond that many captains and first mates of OP seem to have, but really, Zoro obviously shows the most concern when it's about Luffy. It might be that he thinks the others are less likely to do stupid things (which they usually are), but the worry is still there.
Zoro also treats Luffy as the captain. I'm not saying the others don't, but he's less likely to disobey. Captain's orders are captain's orders.
-
Zoro,he is the most dedicated character.
He doesn't question,he could be beaten like an egg and still fight.
He may want to become the best swordsman ever, but he needs to test his skills, and improve on flaws, plus he is no coward, like Usopp. -
I always imagined that pact he made with Luffy (if Luffy got in the way of his dream, he'd kill him) was foreshadowing future events.
i'd forgotten about that, should be interesting how it plays out.
zoro may be loyal, but would he let luffy get in the way of his own dream? -

first of he would certainly question if luffy ordered him to do something that would conflict with his dream,
and he really fights only for himself and he will never loose cause he promised himself that.
and whats his bravery got to do with anything ?i dont think zoro is dedicated to luffys dream since he has a dream on his own to fulfill.
-
Neither Usopp nor Zoro are dedicated to Luffy
Zoro is chasing is dream to become the best swordman if Luffy interfered Zoro would probably kill him
Usopp fought Luffy for the Going Merry, so he's got is own agenda too
Sanji, when he sees a Girl he doesn't listen to no one (remember Chopper and Sanji in Alabasta, when Sanji said he would go shopping and then he went after the girls)
Nami is in for the gold and the World Map
And Nico Robin is in for the "True History"
So I think Chopper is the most dedicated to Luffy
