Most emotional or Tear jerking scene??

I think the saddest scene in one piece was when brooke was singing with his crew and they started dropping one by one and he was like

just the thought of someone bing alone like that for such a long time makes me sad.
Also zoro's loyalty to luffy at Thriller park has to be mentioned as well.

Along with the burning of going merry.

I think the best i felt was when luffy punched that pompous arrogant snob at the archipelago in the face. That royal jerk had it coming

For me it will probably always be a toss-up between Bellemere's death scene and Nami asking Luffy for help.

I so much as look at them and the tears well up. Not kidding either.

Surprisingly, Robin's past did nothing for me. It affected me the least of any character's past. Not to say I don't like it or I don't think it wasn't sad but it didn't move me at all. I don't think it has anything to do with me being a guy either since I have plenty of male OP friends whom that story caused an overflow of tears for.

On the positive side… the Straw Hats all lined up at Enies Lobby, and Sogeking burning the flag. Awesome!!!

Hm, I suppose I felt that Robin's past was just a wee bit too fairy tale-ish to make me feel anything. Parents being away and bullying children is one thing, but then we had the hateful stepmother (well, aunt), lots of chores, having to subsist on bread and butter…stuff anyone who's read fairy tales has seen before.

I hardly cry at anything in a story (though I certainly feel bad for the characters involved), but I have to admit that the Going Merry's funeral almost got me to shed some manly tears when I watched it (keep in mind that I didn't start reading the manga itself until we got to Odz's defeat), with all of those flashbacks set to Dear Friends, and the movie-quality animation...

I'll be sure to keep a hanky with me when the anime hits 513 just in case, given its track record of excellence when it comes to things like this.

Robin's past wasn't too emotion-raising. Tragic, yes, but not really that tearjerking. Maybe that's because I haven't watched in awhile, though.

However, each of female crew member's (and Vivi's) Luffy-caused breakdowns were very emotional. Robin's in particular really made me love her more as a character. Vivi's getting ruined by 4Kids made me shun it utterly forever, and Nami's was rather touching.

Also, Nami's and Franky's pasts made me absolutely hate their respective villains (Arlong and Spandam). Chopper's sorta did, but Wapol using up Oda's ink made me hate him. I also was angered by the bomb scene in Arabasta. Vivi and the Straw Hats manage to pull a last-minute save, then Crocodile pulls one last aggrivating "gotcha," then Pell "sacrifices" himself, and then without missing a beat, everyone gets back up and starts killing each other while Vivi screams at them to stop.

Then again, episodes 120-127 (or whatever their corresponding manga chapters are) were pretty epic. Enies Lobby was awesome, but Arabasta showcases more of the epic storytelling that makes One Piece the bestest.

For me, Chopper's flashback was the saddest moment in One Piece so far. I teared up every single time I watched it; whether it was the 4kids version, the jap anime version or the movie.

Other than that all the other straw hats (except Luffy) had tear-jerking flashbacks.

Am I the only one who thought that Going Merry's funeral was the worst emotional scene attempted by Oda?

For me, it's all the SH's pasts, but Franky's was the most emotional one for me out of all of them, Going Merry's Funeral, Luffy's and Ussop's fight and when the SH's finally came face to face with Robin in Enies Lobby.

I can't remember anymore, but there's definitely a lot of emotional scenes in One Piece that I can't remember at the moment, but they were all tear jerker moments though.

I've been forgetting some epic moments in One Piece…Hell, I might start reading or even watching it again.

the whole eating ur own foot thing got to me and how sanji was going to kill him :sad:
next to that i'll put brook. to go through watching all his nakama dieee!! worst thing to ever happen to a pirate n then to live in the dark for over a decade with nuthing but the memories of all ur happy times with them is just….just.....damn =[ i was happy that luffy asked him to join so he can be happy again:happy:

when luffy started apologizing to the merry saying "zoro and sanji are idiots so they always broke things" it was ..deep XD

how could i forget ussop and luffy's fight i hated watching that it was just wrong to see them lik dat which made it sad. and ussops face as luffy cranked back for gumu gomu no bullet was sad. all the flashbacks of their happy moments they were best friends
and then luffy makes it worst by saying "it hurts"

Burning Merry for me, no question. I welled up at every flashback/farewell of the crew members, including Norland, but Merry's funeral set me off like a running tap Might have to do with the emotional state I was in at the time of reading.

to me the worst was when kuma began to teleport the crew on by one and seeing how the rest reacted especially sanji freaking out after losing zoro and brook right in front of him. the worst was luffy's, you could just see how defeated he looked.

another one is robin's emotional and tearful declaration "i wadda live" in enies lobby after luffy told her it wasn't a sin to be alive. and like most chopper's past and the going merry

In the anime it was nami's cry for help when she's stabbing her arm, and usopps battle with luffy.

in the manga when kuma is teleportin the crew one by one and luffy can't do jack about it.

Ah, well, since we're bringing the anime into this, the scenes that I have made me tear up are, in order: Nami's flashback, Chopper's flashback, Robin's flashback, and the burning of the Going Merry.

So many great moments id have to definantly say Usopp's apology it was perfect made me tear up! Was so happy when i seen that!!

Also i dont think anybody's mentioned this one yet but the moment were all the straw hats are surrounded at enies lobby with nowhere to go, and they all start jumping into the ocean then you see that going merry has come to save them that was an awesome tear-jearker in the anime!!

I think the most emotional scenes are Nami's "Luffy, help me" (one of the most "powerful" scene i've ever seen) and Zoro's speech to Luffy after being crushed by Mihawk.

Hiluluk's death was great and the speech was so amazing and memorable.

But chapter 398, "Declaration of War", is still the best of the best chapter of one piece in my book. That's when Robin shouting "I wanna live!!", and Sogeking burn the hell out of government flag. Truly great moments.

Compared to the rest of his crew Luffy's sad story doesn't even begin to touch you.

Compare "oh noes i made a guy lose his arm" to "oh noes, i've been bullied from the moment i was born by everyone on my island, including my step-parents until they were all killed. the small group of people who liked me, and a giant, were also killed and their life's work was destroyed. next my real mum died, 5 seconds after i met her. i then spend the next 20 years of my life frightened of being caught, constantly being betrayed and being forced to do some evil shit for money".

Or alternatively Nami/Chopper/Brook's past.

Nami's past is hands-down the saddest, Belle-mere is still one of my top characters for how strong she was.

Robin's past is a close second, with Chopper and Franky's past comin next.

Merry's Funeral, and the emotion surrounding Luffy vs. Usopp and Robin's rescue were excellent as well.

One Piece is really the only manga that really grips me. That's why it's my favorite!

Anytime Luffy beats up a bad guy. Lucci, Enel, especially Croc, and when Sogeking burns the flag. Those just make me go all :blink: every time because it's so awesome.

Usopp's speeches (in Alabasta for example) are really manly, too.

Silver goes to Sanji's past with Zeff and when he thanks him before leaving.

Bronze goes to Usopp in the water 7 arc when he told Nami he couldn't face the others after losing the money.
