I wondered if some of you had heard of a mid-1970's robot anime called UFO Robot Grendizer known in French as Goldorak, in Italian as Goldrake and in English as Grandizer?

the story is an alien dictator, King Vega conquered planet Fleed, home of Duke Fleed (Actarus in French), prince of this planet, for its own ressouces and to annex it to his empire. Duke Fleed menaged to escape and fly to Earth. He was found by a scientist named Dr. Umon (Prof. Procyon in French) who'll treat him like his own son. However Vega's next target is Earth and this time Duke Fleed decide to protect his adoptive planet with his robot Grendizer!

I heard than only 26 episodes was dubbed in English (while all 74 was dubbed in French. however the Italian version skipped 3 episodes), if Cartoon Network get their hands on this gem, I wish a dub of the rest of the episodes

I've heard of it and seen some eps. It's a pretty decent Giant Robot anime. I really like Tetsujin 28 too (Gigantor).

i watched a LOT of eps on TV when i was a child. that was so much fun!

"fulguro poing", "corno fulgure", "astero hache"

but why does the actarus do a rotation while the transfert? it's useless (the oldest anime thread online…)
