Currently Venezuela is experiencing great troubles, both social and economical, I'm tired, I want to live where I won't die because I got a phonecall with the wrong person on the bus, or that I won't get a public service because I don't aprove of the goverment.

      So: Canada!

I'm a computer engineer from the best college here, self taught english, 23 y/old, who is seriously thinking of getting a masters degree on my field, with a dash of managment and leadership.

Who can talk to me about quality of education of some college's masters? quality of life? hottest place on canada (Here's usualy around 28-30ºC, THIS is the greatest barrier)? price?

        Why Canada?

Though this intrigues me. If America turns to shit, Canada's the place I'm going.

Because… they'll have me, and it's cool, and the queen is cool, and my family won't follow because is too cold, and it has a more latin friendly actitude than most of the world, and they need people, badly.

One of my friends told me about these three colleges his top 3, but I'm currently bussy and can't check the info right now. But there's anyone who know anything about them?

Power to you man. Chavez is completely untrustworthy in every sense of the word.

I wouldn't be so worried about Latinophobia in all the US, parts in the north midwest wouldn't probably see you any different then other random immigrant groups they have. Clearly stay the hell out of Arizona though.
But if your hearts set on Canada there's nothing wrong with that.

                    You have no idea T.T

The day of the Coup'd eat (against him, not his) (I'll check later how's writen) was my birthday.. I was so happy… Untill the next day.

The amount of hate that he's put on the people (pro and con), all the hurdles to get dollars, the nightmare that's dealing in any way or form with the goverment, the absurdity of 8 hours long speches on every (non-cable) channel, the sickening cult of personality, the complete inability to admit that he's not right all the time, the movement to change every little ting in the country to his view, the absurd power that he holds to.. (what's the word for "steal away under the power of the law"? expropiate?), the views that anything that is against him should be censored, and the fact that he's a complete douche, hipocrit, stupid, smelly, socialy recented, cromosomicaly coward.

I'm not sure about the last one, that's what one of the last opposing party leaders said constantly, and I found it funny, coward he is.

The smelly part is sure though, that much fat, his ascendence, the 2 bulletproff vest and all the "santeria" shit that he wears hidden.

Ok! Canada, North midwest a viable option, I'll have to think about that one.

Like people away from the US/Mexico border are going to be that less panicky and weird about spanish speaking swarthy people.

Hell, there's some mild temperature areas of the country I could say give a try like the San Francisco Bay Area.
Of course "mild temperature" for a guy from a Connecticut is probably still deep winter to your family. Not that you apparently care.

The Northeast where I'm from is cool too, we get lots of Puerto Ricans and Dominicans here and there, none illegally so people aren't really racist and old ladyish about latin america here either. Also most folks over here have some European immigrant recent history so we're not as quick to jump on immigration or we feel kind of like we're slamming our recent ancestors.
Also New York City is here and all that. And being an immigrant around there is going to make approximately nobody even care at all.

But y'know, getting to the Northeast illegally from island nations way way to the south is kind of harder then border jumping, so it's not even a real issue up here.

I've lived in some cold places by myself, mountain fog and all, but I'll say that it was at lowest at 15ºC. Always carried a jacket around. I think that I can manage it with the right clothes.

You are talking me about good places to live, but the true goal is not to escape, but to get a masters degree, I'll check the colleges on the places that you recomended though, but I have a hunch that a rent and a education will be cheaper north the border.

Our neighbours immigrated to Canada's west, Vancouver. I've heard only good things from them. With university degree it was not too hard to find a job - and consequently, steady income.
Though they didn't like that there' weren't as many immigrants as there are now. A bit empty ethnic space. But that was back in the 80s-90s.

Sorry, but do you mean that Arizona shuns all immigrants or just Latino ones? Because, after I grew up in Russia I moved there and lived in AZ for 7 years; no one really bothered me 'bout it. :ermm: I had a few Venezuelan friends and they seemed to be treated just fine, with proper jobs and all.

mmm can't tell you about school, but canada is very accepting of different people and other cultures. In the summer, it usually gets up to +30C though, in the winter it can get to -30C it's not fun, but yes, if you learn to layer your clothes and dress properly you can deal with it.

The big cities that lots of people immigrate to are vancouver on the west coast, calgary in the praries, by the mountains, and toronto by the great lakes. They're all great cities and have lots to offer, but you pay dearly for housing for the privilege of living there.

You been keeping up with the news?
                                        Clearly not.
                                        And yeah I meant hispanics.

Wait 17 celsius is like 59 farenheit? And you call that cold? It's that temp outside my house right now. And it's mid-summer.

Maybe you shouldn't go to Canada lol.

Who can talk to me about quality of education of some college's masters? quality of life? hottest place on canada (Here's usualy around 28-30ºC, THIS is the greatest barrier)? price?

Wait, so how far can you tolerate cold weather? Is 15 degrees Celsius the coldest temperature you've ever experienced? Speaking as an immigrant who previously lived in India and Indonesia, I can tell you that getting used to the weather here is easy enough if you're young. You might get that initial shock though 😉 I don't know anything about cost of living or education quality over there, but Vancouver is certainly the warmest place in Canada.

The university of Toronto and Mc Gill are both excellent universities from what I hear also, especially in the fields of medicine and engineering.

Canada's an extremely tolerant place when it comes to the big cities, so you'll have absolutely no problem there.

yes. the wind sucks. but the humidity too. I grew up in the province of Saskatchewan. our winters are cold and dry. I know how to deal with -30C no problem. I moved to Toronto Ontario when I was 20. my first year here, I could not keep warm. the humidity makes the cold just stick to you. I kept putting hot water in the bathtub to warm my feet up. ^^

I have a couple of roomates from india here. they survived.

if your not too brave for the cold, move to the west coast, to vancouver. the weather is more mild there.

I didn't notice any difference from the wind in Calgary and the wind in Ottawa when I last visited. However, there's no humidity out here in Alberta, but you have to deal with oil typhoons, girls who love nothing but "Keith Urban" and hella Conservatives.
