Being Human is a dark British Comedy.

Last year on BBC 3 - three show's pilots competed against each other - the winner to get commissioned for a full series - this winner was Being Human

Being Human sees 3 supernatural beings trying to be normal & blend with humanity, and also their problems with trying to do this.

George [Russell Tovey] - A Jewish werewolf with an amazingly high IQ
Mitchell [Aidan Turner] - A good Vampire who's lived for centuries
Annie [Lenora Critchlow] - A poltergeist who can't pass on because of issues with her previous lover

The reason I feel this show needs a topic is that it truly is one of the best shows I have seen in a long time, and I do not say that often - The writing is superb & I can only hope that it will be commissioned for a second series.

Those of you who haven't seen the show, I strongly recommend watching online, there are legal services which allow you to do this, however you can do it any way you wish. Those of you who have seen it please feel free to discuss.

Excellent - when you've watched some, please do come back & post your views on it, - as at the moment the thread's seeming quite empty & I want to get it thriving with a real big discussion going on, especially next Sunday which is the last episode of the current series.

I watched the first episode and surprisingly, while the plot synopsis didn't sound that awefully interesting, I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's hip, kinda down to earth (for what it is) and… British. And the episode actually had an hour's worth of lenght.

I thought the pilot was good but it from that I really thought there were some big problems with it that would stop it from breaking out into something really new and interestingly original. Mainly with the fact that it was funny, well acted and pretty well scripted. This all seemed to be bogged down with dreary drama moments that seemed to really REALLY turning the mellodrama up to 11, what with this secret Vampire cult etc. So with the news that it was going to be recasted and reimagined I was quite looking foward to see what they'd do with it.

…which turned out to be the complete opposite of what I thought they should have done with it.

should have stuck with the sitcom thing instead of expanding into some boring sci-fi thing that mostly tries to do what Buffy did well over 10 years ago.

....and the recasting was beyond unnecesary.

Yeah, some o' that's true, but to be honest I like the direction they took with the series in having the characters develop, each having their own little subplots like Annie.

Also, I think that the Mitchell from the pilot was a tiny bit too grim, like the new Mitchell can be all Gothic & dark, then turn round & thank someone with a smile on his face.

! What did you make of Herrick's quick death scene ?
Do you think he's dead, does physically being ripped to shreds kill a vampire or does it HAVE to be a Stake-through-the-heart job, if not does the dust just re-assemble ? -
I'd love to see Herrick again in Series 2
! Also what did you make of Nina's 'furry little secret' ?
