Well I was thinking if ace will die it will make the story a bit better, with the entire world going crazy. so I think that's a good point to for Odda to kill someone doesn't have to be Ace (I don't really want him to die).

Every arc so far has been about luffy coming to the rescue, but WB's death….luffy can't do anything to fix the world (at least to my understnading)

Well, Luffy did knock a bunch of guards into a boiling pot of blood, and it's implied that getting thrown into that boiling pot of blood may be a tad lethal. Other than that, the writing on the wall seems to say that Whitebeard's time is up.

Actually, when you think about a lot of people die in this manga. The war in Arabasta had soldiers and rebels dieing left and right. The Marine that Gin shot. The pirate captain that Lucci killed. I think it's only characters who have names that don't die. Red shirt rules apply to One Piece.

I think if anyone's gonna die in One Piece, it will be from sickness/disease I don't see Oda making known characters kill another know character.
if Pell who carried a bomb that is able to take out a city of 1million can survive, I don't see how anyone that is an important character in One Piece can die.

Before Oda could bring himself to get rid of Merry (a freakin' ship, mind you.) he had to build up the emotional impact- not merely of what a tragic loss this was to the crew, but also what each of them gained from their experiences with the ship. Then it was given a viking funeral, only when the ship accepted its death. Yes, you read correctly, the ship accepted its death.
For Whitebeard to die, Oda is going to have to devote several chapters to flashbacking Newgate's life. He will have to ensure that every reader out there knows that the world of One Piece isn't just losing the linchpin securing it from chaos; it's losing a great man, one whose like may never be seen again. Hell, Oda will have to make the guy seem more likeable than Luffy. Can he pull it off? I think he can, but it's going to need a lot of buildup, and it is going to have to be handled very carefully. Otherwise, it might flop, and then Oda will just decide to reveal that Newgate survived, sometime down the line.
I'm not sure where I stand on this, but if Oda is going to finally go against his non-killing of important characters, this arc more than any other arc so far in OP is the place to do it. It will make the reality and impact of this war all the more raw and prominent in readers minds.
Now, if Oda sticks with his principles, it would make just as much sense. It would support the whole "if a main character is fighting for what he believes in and what he believes with all his heart is right, then he cannot die fighting." This would go for Ace, too, since he went down and got sent to Impel Down through defeat.
uhm, if i remember correctly, Arlong killed Ms. Bellemere and Dr. Hiruluk also died by exploding himself into pieces . So there are some people who has name and were killed off in OnePiece.
Those happened before the current timeline, though. And if you've read any other threads on this forum, most of us consider deaths like those to be a different matter.

i think in the whole story, only one person will die. this has i think the most impact. when this person dies and who, i don`t know. but this will be revealed in the end of one piece

well personally i don't see anyone being killed, but i do think we will see people die from natural causes, after all wb is getting on and in bad condition as it is, so even though he could survive the war i do see an impact on his health ultimately leading to his death much later on…..........i only think this will happen when wb has someone good enough to replace him in terms of strength to maintain the worlds stability
perhaps Luffy much later in the manga when he is on par with the other yonkou

I am almost positive Whitebeard is going to die at the end of this arc, and most likely due to Blackbeard.
Oda has been subtly (and non subtly) setting this up for a LONG time now.
Ace most likely does not die. Plenty of unnamed grunts are probably going to die (I mean Whitebeard already caused 23 ships to disappear)
And it looks like the ruthless Kaidou might be involved this arc, so we might see some deaths due to him.

I kind of doubt this scenario, actually. Not that I don't think Brother vs. Brother isn't an interesting storyline, and yeah, Oda could possible pull it off, but I don't think Ace wants the title for himself - he wants Whitebeard to be the Pirate King.
