Fanime 2009 OP Cosplay Gathering

Surprised that this wasn't posted yet, and it's late March already. Fanime will be held on Memorial Day weekend (Friday, May 22 through Monday, May 25). This year's One Piece gathering is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 23, at 11:30am at the fountains on the Marriot side. This will be my first year going so I'm not really sure where that location is.

Suupaa Kaizoku Cosplay is hoping to attend in full force. And by full force, I mean military force. Personally, I'm planning to attend as Aokiji for the gathering. I don't know if I'm going to bring another costume for the other days, but it might be a good idea since I'd rather not stain the almost all-white costume. Either way, I just have to get off my lazy-ass and actually finish the costume. So fellow AP cosplayers…who's attending and what are you planning to go as? Looking forward to seeing you at the con!

P.S.
There is also a general Shounen Jump gathering on Sunday at 3pm at "fountains in front Hilton side." Again, I don't know where that location is, I'll just see it when I get there.

I wanted to be Franky for this but instead I'm going to be Russia from Axis Powers Hetalia on Saturday (in a group and for Masquerade and all). On Sunday, I dunno what I'm going to be. I promised my friends I'd save Franky until AX, so I'm looking for a random OP character, but of course, I won't be in the group picture.

Hina excited!

I'll be there supporting the Marine contingent as Captain Hina. Finally got a designer jacket pattern that I'm excited to try out as soon as I can get some solid sewing time in. I just registered for the Fanime Swap Meet too, so hopefully I can make some cash selling old stuff.

I was really happy to see so much Marine love; I never expected to see the awesome costumes I did. This year's Fanime was basically the most fun I've ever had. It only makes a little difference that this Russia found himself a pretty Belarus <3<3 Speaking of which, I'm going back today because she asked me to and if any of you guys are still there I'd love to hang around =D

I'm so happy to get to see pictures my GOD what a glorious gathering O_O

Thank you for all your compliments. Our group, Suupaa Kaizoku, had a great time cosplaying as the Marine. It was great to see other Marines as well, Coby and Tashigi. My favorite pic is when all the Marine's were bowing down to me, Sengoku, hehehehe. Can't wait till AX.

Ah, I'm just a roadie for the CCRStars (and occasional living mannequin, heh). But yeah, their panels are really awesome, and I strongly recommend everyone go to them!! Adam kept talking an additional 4 hours after his 3 hour nerd courting panel ended, it was pretty impressive. They're working on some crazy cool One Piece costumes for the AX :D

The Suupaa Kaizoku cosplayers were so cool! I loved your skit too, I hope you guys got an award for it? I can't tell you how much I wanted to steal your seagull hat :P

I will definitely be wearing it at some point that day. I'm going to be dressed as Frog from Chrono Trigger part of the day, but I won't be able to wear that one for long so I plan to be Coby the rest of the time. It's a much more comfortable costume :)

Syn has a vendetta against wigs, and honestly, we forgot to prepare proper old man make-up. Don't worry, both of those things should be remedied for AX.

Rather than retire, we'll most likely fine tune them. I'd like to make the suit coat for Aokiji, and eventually the long Marine coat as well (though he's never pictured with one besides the silhouette of all 3 admirals). I'd also like to lengthen the ice sword. Kizaru's sword and Smoker's jutte are longer; I have weapon envy.:getlost:

Ahhh that last photo is EPIC!! You guys rocked as the Marines and I love the Super Novas! I really want to bring back my femme Smoker someday, maybe once I fix it again and lose more weight. I'd love to do more Marine cosplay someday, actually.

Lol, thanks guys. It's fun doing Marines since nobody really does them anymore. I tried getting Kizaru as accurate as possible but alas Al!naJames does not approve of my hair choice for that day though ^_^.

I'll show you guys on how I did the sword. Or rather an up close version of it when I get a chance.

But AX09 first day is going to be a bit more epic. We are currently coordinating with Gomu Gomu no Cosplay to do an even larger Marine group. So meaning more Colby, Garp, and dare I say Helmeppo??

But I really want you guys to be there tear * would've beeen fun!!!
