This trailer randomly popped up. And it is most likley for Dead Rising 2. Although it could be for something else. But it's sort of obvious it's Dead Rising.

Yup, one of the best games got sequel, superb. And in Las Vegas, thats what the producer says last year.
-
I can't wait for this sequal. I loved the first one. Hopefully we'll get more bizzare weapons.
-
… And best of all, it's for PC, too! Huzzah!
-
This first game is legendary, the sequel should be just as good. Can't wait.

This is relevant to my intrests

Okay.
Read some favorable reviews.
Sounded like it has fun elements.
Leveling up is what sold me.
But…I've grinded to level 13 and...it feels like nothing has changed and I'm still wasting time and weak against the hordes.
Do you ever really get beastly?

If it's anything like the first game, then yes, you do get beastly.
In the first game you ended up having deadly hand to hand moves. But it's not easy to level up…
-
What bothers me about this game is the constant countdown… I would like this to be more sandbox.

You get beastly, I beat the game twice already and am at level 50. You don't get as many hand to hand moves as you did in the first game but you get a ton of grapple moves instead. Psychopaths are also fairly easy to get through once you get leveled up more because your attack increases a lot over time; just like your speed, health, and inventory space. I stuck mostly with the Laser Sword and Knife Gloves throughout the game for all the major encounters, made them that much easier.

Agreed. I think they do have a sandbox mode but you have to beat the game with certain conditions.
I want to play a trailer on the PC but there is none :cwy: .
-
Okay, sounds good. I'll keep up with it between attempting to Platinum 3D Dot Heroes.

You can completely ignore the timer, if you just wanna kill zombies; nobody's making you watch the clock necessarily. For the actual case files though, I love the sense of urgency the game has!

Wait wut ?
-
It is possible to not only ignore the case files, but Katy's need for Zombrex, and still keep playing. Doing so can allow you to have 72 in-game hours to do whatever you want.
I'm currently doing my 50 survivor run. I just finished Day 1, and I have 23 rescuable survivors safe.
If you guys need any help with this game, let me know. Dead Rising 2 is one of many forms of crack for me.

With one problem. You are blocked out of certain areas.
-Case 1-2 unlocks the gates surrounding the arena (with the exception of the front door in the outdoor plaza, the one next to the red motorcycle, that's unlocked at all times). Not really a big deal, since they only reason you need to step into the Arena is to save two really easy to save survivors and other Case files.
-Case 1-4 or Case 2 (can't remember) unlocks access to the underground terminal, which aside from Case missions, is COMPLETELY USELESS! (Actually, that's not true. It gives you access to a BFG, which is needed to build a bigger weapon, the Super BFG. Other than that, completely useless.)
-Case 5 unlocks access to the hotel rooftop, which is also where you can save two survivors. I might be wrong, but not doing this case will not allow you to save either of those survivors.
That's about it, but it's really not a big deal. The game has 64 rescuable survivors (that's not counting the 11 your rescue at the prelude to the actual game, which those don't count toward your total survivors saved). So really, if you want to save '50' survivors, you can neglect or kill 14 of them.
It's also possible to do the 72,000 kills, but you'll need the keys to the SUV in the outdoor plaza.

I want a fucking demo on Steam. NAO!
-
-
DR2 can be bought on Steam but I just want to play a demo now.
-
Okie dokie.
Beat it with all the main missions accomplished. Mostly breezed through them except for the two bitches who I had to learn how to make a Painkiller and Quick Step for.
Loved what they did at the end there. Will enjoy that.
The bastard thing is though, I saved FORTY-NINE survivors, one short of the goddamn trophy. Do I have to completely start over in the next playthrough or will it count a new one?

It's just like the first game in that regard unfortunately. You've gotta start back over at umero numo.
-
Sorry Greg. If it makes you feel better, you can skip the case missions and have access to majority of them.
Just a quick warning though. The case-less story ending isn't very fun, but I'd imagine you'd know that through the main story.
By the way, Greg. Which ending was it.
[hide]Did it end with finding Katey's backpack, or did you…have something extra with a certain villain?[/hide]

FOR REAL!!!!??? AW MAN! >< That's shit! >< Oh well.
I just want that last speed power-up. That would make things so much easier. The shortcuts are nice too but I've only found one.
The ending, yeah, I was surprised but evidently ASIDE from saving 50 peeps I did everything right and got the 'extra' which I'll be exploring tonight. First time I did that in a game without a guide.
I think it's because I ended up with a bamillion Zombrexes for playing the shit out of golf and stocking up 'cuz I never knew when they were gonna spring a, "SURPRISEYOUNEEDAZOMBREXWHATYOUDON'THAVEONETOOBADSHITTYENDINGPLAYOURGAMEAGAINEND"
-
Sorry.
The "use every melee, ranged, explosive, and firearm", "wear every piece of clothing", "eat every food", and "spend 6 million dollars" are carried over through all your playthroughs.
And believe me, my first playthrough, I was really close to 50 myself.
-
Jesus, I would hope they do.
-
Hmmm, nah, you never really get beastly. That's a shame.
I expected you to ultimately run as fast as the Quick Step allows and swing weapons much faster.
It's a shame. All they had to do was make it ridiculously hard to reach that level.
Still a neat game.

Oh no. Insane speed would have made that game so much easier. That's probably why this one feels a bit harder.
In the first Dead Rising, skateboards were the shit. Seriously, I used to run laps around zombies. Not to mention, the best weapon in the game (the mini-chainsaw) was available to you pretty early.
The best weapon in the game for me was the Defiler.
EDIT: I also have to say that the hand-to-hand skills in DR2 were seriously disappointing. The best was 'Elbow Drop'. I look forward to Case West though. That and when my brother-in-law gets this game himself and we play Co-op.
-

Which is why they should have made it REALLY difficult to reach that level.
ie. you gotta play through at least 5 times.
But as it stands, Chuck is pretty damn slow and even though he's all leveled, it feels like a chore going from place to place.
It's just 'that' kind of game and I 'get' that but still, it would have made replay all the more fun instead of having to make and lug around drinks.
