Some series had created over the years some spin-offs series http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spin-off for example the Angel Links OAV is a kind of spin-off of Outlaw Star if there was a Spin-off series of OP which characters may be the main star?

I consider the Mini Stories to be spinoffs, myself.
Fullbody and Jango would be a great spinoff.

HA! Now I have a mental image of a guy with a camera running with Smoker as they chase a pirate.

ROFLMAO at MARINES.
I can see minor technical problems; COPS is famous for being shot on-location, with a cameraman trying to chase the policemen as it goes. That results in a lot of shake, motion, and bizarre angles which are very costly to animate, though cheap for live-action.
Maybe a Shanks spinoff about the Redhairs' adventures before the events of OP. Or maybe a series about Gold Roger's journey?

A great spin-off would be about Gol D. Roger
I'd love to see Gol D. Roger before he became the Pirate King 
Or the history of young Shanks in the same crew as Buggy :lol:
I would actually think it would be interesting to have a spin-off about one of the Marines, like the Aokiji or other supreme admirals or Smoker just to see things more from the marine point of view of things along with how they climbed to their current ranks.
