PROLOGUE - East Blue, The Past

It was rather stormy weather outside and it didn't look like it was going to get better at all. A young, orange-haired woman was clutching onto the railing of a pirate ship in the middle of a violent ocean. The woman was barking out orders at her crewmates in order to keep the ship afloat. The ship seemed like it would capsize from the storm any minute now. Suddenly, the orange-haired woman spotted a small island in the distance.

"Guys! I see an island over there! Let's head for it!" spoke the girl. The crewmates just shouted in agreement before changing course for the island. An ominous lightning bolt shot down into the ocean within just a few yards of the ship itself. The force from the lightning bolt seemed to aid in the steering of the ship toward the island. Everyone was working hard to get towards the island before them.

Suddenly, as the ship approached the island, one of the pirates wearing a straw hat, a red vest, and blue shorts just appeared to lose strength and slowly doze off to sleep. Another crewmate with green hair and three swords at his belt dashed over to check on him, "Hey, Luffy! Now's not the time to fall asleep!"

"I don't know why, Zoro, but I just feel like sleeping. Good night, Zoro..." the young man spoke as he continued on into a deep sleep. Suddenly, two more crewmates followed. A blonde-haired man in a rather expensive looking suit and a curly eyebrow as well as a younger man with a long nose both collapsed on the deck. Zoro and the orange-haired girl were both freaking out, "Sanji!! Usopp!! Wake up!"

It wasn't long before the orange-haired woman also dozed to sleep "Nami, not you... too...!" Zoro spoke as if the energy was being drained from his body and he fell on the deck as well.

Zoro opened his eyes to see the sun shining on him as he yawned. He looked around to make sure everyone was alright. They were all fine and on the ship. He sighed in relief before standing up and looking around. They were on the sea and headed towards the Red Line. Slowly, the others woke up and everyone was confused.

Nami looked ahead, "That's odd... we're on course to the Red Line. It's a miracle we're still alive after that storm, but I'm glad!" Shortly after, Luffy awoke and shot both of his arms into the air, "Yahoo! That was a great sleep!" before shouting at Sanji to make him something to eat. Sanji then woke up and, without a second thought, he ran over to Nami and started fawning over her as normal, "Nami-swaan! Are you doing okay?"

Finally, Usopp woke up and could see everyone else was back to normal, but couldn't help worry about what had happened before they fell asleep. It gave him the willies, but he snapped out of it and started laughing out loud to himself before starting to dance and sing along with Luffy for no reason.

As the ship sailed into the distance for the Red Line, we take a look several months into the future, deep into the Grand Line.

CHAPTER 1: The Beginning of The End (Grand Line, Present)
A different pirate ship from before was sailing along as Luffy and his crew enjoyed themselves with a few new faces. Sanji left the kitchen with a tray of food in hand and approached a raven-haired woman before lowering it, "For you, Robin-chwaan!" Robin smiled lightly and thanked Sanji before continuing to read the book in her hands.

Usopp was in the corner, working on something when a rather large, middle-aged man with light blue hair and a metallic nose walked up behind him and glanced over his shoulder, "Hey Usopp, whatcha got there?" Usopp responded, "Oh, Franky. Just in time! I'm trying to modify this Impact Dial that I got back on Sky Island so that it could work with that Star Shield of yours!" Franky's interest was definitely piqued as he sat down next to Usopp to discuss plans on such a thing.

Zoro was still badly injured from his fight against that Shichibukai, Bartholomew Kuma. As he was training, he seemed to reopen quite a few injuries and had to head into the clinic, wherein resided a small, childlike reindeer-human hybrid who helped guide Zoro in onto the bed in the room. The reindeer then began to grow until he was just about six and a half feet tall and reached for the bandages in the top cupboard before turning back to Zoro and lecturing him, "You know, you shouldn't be training so hard in your current condition. Your wounds will keep opening up at that rate!" As he had no witty comeback, he just laid back and took the lecturing from the doctor, not that he would really follow his instructions or anything.

A really tall skeleton dressed in a top hat and a suit walked inside the log room and saw Nami drawing sea charts before walking up to her, jovially lifting up his top hat in greeting, "Yohohoho... you look exceptionally beautiful this afternoon, Nami. May I see your panties today?" Nami, as if she was prepared, threw what appeared to be a brick right at the skeleton's head, "As if I would show them to you, Brook! Get out of here!" Brook appeared rather sad for a brief second, then returned to normal, "Very well then. I will see you later then."

Finally, Luffy was sitting on the lion's head at the bow of the ship and he could see a small island in the distance. He found the island interesting and, standing up and pointing, he shouted, "Oy, let's head for that island over there!" The entire crew shouted in agreement. Franky lept and took the controls while the others got in position.

It took a few minutes, but the ship finally arrived and, interestingly enough, the entire island appeared to be completely round and almost completely flat. It wasn't very large, either. Probably the size of a football field at best. The Straw Hats docked and looked around to explore the island when, without warning, a man appeared in the center of the island. He was rather short and dressed in rags. He then looked at the Straw Hats as they all approached him.

Luffy walked up to him, having a slight look of concern on his face as the young man before him looked as if he was about to die. He started running over as did the rest of the crew. Luffy held his hands out at the man in case he fell, "Hey, guy! Are you alright? You look like you're about to drop dead!"

The man looked up and smiled, half of his teeth missing from decay, "Sorry to disappoint you, but you are the ones who will drop dead this day, Kekekekeke..."

With those words, Luffy clenched his stomach, clearly in a lot of pain. Zoro saw this and was about to rush to Luffy's aid before he too could feel an immense pain. Shortly after, so did Nami, Usopp, and Sanji. All of the remaining Straw Hats began to panic. Brook was screaming in one corner, Franky was trying to communicate with Usopp on what was wrong, Robin just stared wide-eyed and silent in horror and Chopper was forcibly diagnosing Zoro to see what was going on. As quickly as it started, it was too late.

Just like that, Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji all collapsed, dead. The remaining Straw Hats could do nothing but stare in horror as to the impossibility at what had just happened to them. The young man before them just started cackling wickedly while shouting, "I killed Monkey D. Luffy! Maybe now the World Government will reward me with the riches I so rightly deserve!! KEKEKEKEKEKEKEKE!!!!"

Enraged beyone belief, Franky charged at the man and threw a hard punch at him, which knocked him into the ground. Still showing nothing but rage, Franky got to his knees and, bending over the man, he continued punching the old man over and over, pulverizing him into the ground. Even when blood started gushing out and covering his fists and his clothing, he still continued beating the old man over and over.

The other Straw Hats were just paralyzed in fear, either that their comrades, ones that they couldn't even concieve of being killed, had been killed, or that Franky was brutally slaying their killer. After a few minutes, Franky stood up, tears in his eyes and the front of his body soaked in blood, "Guys... I'm sorry..."

Nico Robin was the first to come out of the shock, still shaken up. He walked over to Franky and placed both hands on his arms, "I understand, Franky..." With that, Robin turned to face the other two, "Franky... Chopper... Brook..."

Chopper and Brook fell to their knees, crying so hard that they couldn't even speak. Robin was the only one who could remain strong at a time like this. She saw her family and friends killed one after the other in the past, so she could withstand this pain.

The remaining straw Hats buried Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji all together and remained to mourn the loss of their fallen comrades for two full weeks.

It was finally Robin who spoke up after two weeks of silence, "Franky, Chopper, Brook. I think it's time we move on." Slamming a fist into the ground, he looked at Robin, still teary eyed, "Nico Robin, I... I still can't accept that this man died. There's just no way..." Chopper started crying and looking at Usopp's grave, "I... I'm a failure as a doctor and a pirate... I couldn't protect my friends from a disease that, if I had just looked closer at it... I would have been able to cure!!"

Brook was about to try to laugh and try to brighten up everyone's moods, but he couldn't do it for he lacked the courage to do so. He stood up and tilted his head down, "So... this is the end of the Straw Hat Pirates, then...?"

They all remained silent as the wind blew Luffy's Straw Hat over the horizon.

      (Chapter 2 coming soon!)

NOTE: To all who read this, please don't give me hate for who I killed off. There is a reasoning for killing off those five and don't worry, they will come back into the story sooner or later! Just don't give me hate for that! Also, I am aware that the story isn't of the best quality writing, but this is all off the top of my head, a first draft if you will. When I have time, I will do my best to rewrite the above.

Please leave questions, comments, concerns, etc here for now. I will write up Chapter Two at a later date.

Chapter 2: What Would the World Be Like Without Monkey D. Luffy?

It has been five years since "Straw Hat" Monkey D. Luffy was killed by an unnamed agent of the World Government and the world has changed drastically since then. Hearing news of his son's death, Monkey D. Dragon decided to step into action and take his forces to Impel Down. In the great battle, many were lost on both sides, but the rewards for Dragon far outweighed the losses. Every prisoner except for one rallied to Dragon's side, including Shichibukai Jinbei, Ex-Shichibukai Crocodile, and countless other individuals who wanted the blood of the World Government. The only man who refused to join Dragon was Portugas D. Ace, his only living heir.

Ace, hearing the news of his brother's death, swiftly returned to Whitebeard with a renewed hatred of the World Government, even to the point that his Mera Mera no Mi powers stepped up to the next level, allowing his entire body to become an entity of pure fire and even allowing him to fly using his own power. Whitebeard himself felt sorry not only for his second-in-command, but also his comrade-in-arms, Shanks. It appeared that, when the Straw Hat was blown off of Luffy's Grave, the wind current carried it to Shanks. Because of this, he lost rational thought and stormed the Holy City of Mariejoia.

During the storming of the Holy City, he was faced against five of the Shichibukai who had initially gathered to fight against Whitebeard's Army had Ace not had been saved by Dragon beforehand. Mihawk took the initiative and fought against Shanks in order to get him to see reason. With Shanks' anger too great, Mihawk understood what must be done. He was feeling his own anguish deep down that the one promising lad who could have actually given him the fight of his own life also died. With that, Mihawk then raised his sword not at Shanks, but at the other Shichibukai.

Bartholomew Kuma, once thought to be the most loyal of the Shichibukai, appeared to vanish off the face of the earth the instant he saw this. His last words before departing were, " 'Red Hair' Shanks… I hope you succeed in your revenge." Doflamingo wasn't about to go up against Red Hair and swiftly retreated, saying that going up against him would ruin his plans.

The only remaining Shichibukai to deal with Shanks and the traitorous Mihawk were Moria and Teach. On the sidelines, Moria was being aided by Absalom's Devil Fruit abilities while Dr. Hogback just watched from a very long distance away. Teach's crew was then locked in combat with the other Red Hair Pirates. Both crews, knowing that they would only get in their respective captain's way, agreed to a temporary truce in order to find a place far away from that battlefield to fight. Yassop paired himself off against Van Auger with the rage of his own son's death on top of the shared rage of Luffy's death and, without mercy, killed Van Auger just before he would have been killed himself. In the meantime, Jesus Burgess and Lucky Roux faced off in a battle of strength. Burgess seemed to have the upper hand for most of the fight before Roux demonstrated his full power, completely decimating Burgess. Next up was Ben Beckman and Doc Q. Beckman wasn't about to go easy on the old man, but didn't underestimate him either. As the only one with a level head, Beckman remained cautious when fighting Doc Q and, before long, the fight was over with Beckman the winner. Finally, it was time for Rockstar to go against Lafitte. Seeing that he was the last one remaining of the Blackbeard Pirates, he retreated before Rockstar got a chance to fight.

Meanwhile, Shanks and Mihawk were overpowering the two Shichibukai. Neither had any Devil Fruit abilities to speak of, so Blackbeard's ability wasn't very effective and Moria was blinded by wanting to turn them into zombies rather than killing them. Before long, Moria was taken down by Mihawk. Seeing this, Absalom and Dr. Hogback both retreated, knowing that they stood no chance in winning. At the same time, Shanks took down Blackbeard, able to not only resist Blackbeard's devil fruit power, but use it to his own advantage, being able to hit Blackbeard with all of his attacks regardless of his aim.

When that was over, Shanks wasn't finished and wanted to go after the Gorosei as well. However, Blackbeard had injured Shank's remaining arm and Mihawk, seeing this, struck Shanks unconscious, gathered the Red Hair Pirates, and retreated to fight another day.

Meanwhile, elsewhere on the Grand Line, Rob Lucci, the leader of the Ex-CP9, heard of the deaths of the five Straw Hat Pirates and was infuriated that he was unable to kill 'Straw Hat' Luffy himself. After hearing about Dragon's demolition of Impel Down, the entirety of ex-CP9 and their trainees sought out Dragon and burned the World Government flag before Dragon's eyes, proving that all ties between the ex-CP9 and the World Government have fizzled.

While large-scale changes like this have happened around the world, even larger changes have been taking place within the confines of the World Government. With Monkey D. Luffy dead, the World Government and the Marines were ordered on a full scale pirate hunt. Any pirates with or without a bounty, regardless if they were men, women, children, or anything in between were ordered to be killed by any means necessary. Sengoku, blind to the crimes that the Gorosei were ordering the Marines to do continued this pirate holocaust in order to cleanse the world.

After a time of this, Vice-Admiral Garp constantly ignored orders to go on full-scale pirate hunts and forced his crew, including Coby and Helmeppo, to go AWOL. Coby and Helmeppo held no objection because they knew that Garp was aware that what they were doing was wrong. When Garp was approached by his superior, Admiral Aokiji, Garp still refused. Despite his orders to arrest Garp and his crew for a court marshall, Aokiji was one of the few high-ranking marines who wasn't blind to the injustices of the world. To prove it, he asked Garp to stop calling him Aokiji as he was planning to formally resign.

Sengoku was livid. Not only had he lost Blackbeard and Moria to death, but Kuma and Doflamingo disappeared, Mihawk defected with Red Hair Shanks, Jinbei and ex-Shichibukai Crocodile joined Dragon, and Hancock was not responding to the call, forcing her title of Shichibukai to be revoked. As of now, the Shichibukai had been completely wiped out through death and trechery. Not only were the Shichibukai gone, but now the Admiral Aokiji slot was vacant since Kuzan resigned.

Hearing that Kuzan resigned, Kizaru went looking for him. Being old friends, he wants to try to get Kuzan to return to the Marines. In a turn of events in the conversation, Kizaru also resigned after hearing what Kuzan had to say. And so Kizaru became Borsalino once again. The only Admiral remaining was Akainu, who was angered at Kuzan and Borsalino for resigning. With the World Government in the state that it was, it was more vulnerable than ever. Whitebeard and Dragon, with their forces as powerful as ever, both mutually agreed to a joint venture to take down the World Government.

With little to really stand in their way, all three gates of Justice were destroyed and, as both Whitebeard and Dragon's forces headed for Mariejoia to finish the job, they were greeted with an army of just over 1000 Pacifista, each much stronger than the original pacifista, appeared on the edge of the Red Line and destroyed several battleships in the process. There were countless casualties in the battle, including Whitebeard who succumbed to illness just after destroying over 500 of them.

In the end, both sides were greatly crippled in that war and it didn't help matters that there were more Pacifista on the way while the countless lives lost to the World Government were much harder to replenish. In the end, Dragon's forces retreated to Alabasta, who reluctantly welcomed Dragon's forces. Whitebeard's forces, now all under the command of Ace, retreated to The New World in order to recover as well. In the meantime, The Red Hair Pirates and Mihawk met up with Ace's forces and formed a formal alliance.

As more and more Pacifista were being made, they were replacing the marines as each one not only cost more than a battleship, but was ten times more efficient. Thus everyone who dared called themselves pirate were either killed on sight or brought to Mariejoia for public mass execution. As the years passed, Enies Lobby and Impel Down were rebuilt with more high tech devices developed by the mysterious Dr. Vegapunk. The new Enies Lobby was built even moreso like a fortress and had mounted turrets that could stop even a Logia-type Devil Fruit user. The Tower of Justice was rebuilt exactly as it was in the past. However, for reasons unknown, the eternal sunlight over the tower faded and was replaced with an eternal twilight. Impel Down was rebuilt with very similar countermeasures, making it even moreso difficult to penetrate than before.

The Red Hair Pirates and the Whitebeard Pirates (Ace decided to keep the name of the crew) remain in the New World in order to devise a plan while Dragon's Forces, now consisting of various ex-marines including Smoker, Tashigi, Hina, Django, and Fullbody, ex-Baroque Works members including Crocodile, Mr. 1, Mr. 2, and Mr. 3, all of the ex-CP9 acting as a special task force, and countless other pirates recruited from the strike on the first Impel Down as well as pirate crews that were saved from destruction at the hands of the Pacifista army.

As for the remaining Straw Hats...

Chopper returned to Drum Island to continue his study of medicine under the still alive Dr. Kureha, who is now strapped to a series of IVs and, after a string of unforseen heart attacks, has forced herself to stop trying to fool herself and try to remain calm. As it is, King Dalton of Drum is currently in the middle of discussions with Kalifa, Dragon's personal assistant, on acquiring medical services for Dragon's forces. The talks are rather tense on both sides, but fortunately no violence has broken out. Chopper, along with donning the title 'Chief of Medicine' also acts as King Dalton's right-hand man. Due to his own continued research on the Rumble Ball, he has managed to make the Rumble Ball's effects more permanent and allow him to change his shape even moreso than before. This allows him to combine his Brain Point form with his Human Point Form to make him look much moreso adult and mature while looking less like a brute and more like an actual doctor.

Brook has returned to Laboon and spends all of his time with him and Magellan, playing his violin and reliving the good days always. However, there have been some pirates who have sought refuge with Brook and Magellan and they always take them in. As it is, Marines come looking for these pirates and both Brook and Magellan have to subdue them. As if by fate, a squad of Pacifista found Brook and Magellan harboring these pirates and attempted to attack the two of them, but were saved by Kuzan and Borsalino, who then kindly offered to stay with Brook and Magellan in order to aid them. Also, they now travel the entire world within Laboon looking for pirates to aid or villages to save from the onslaught of Pacifista.

Nico Robin, now using the alias "Rose Sunday" and wearing a full disguise at all times, works in secret as a spy for Dragon while working as a Government Agent proficient in the use of Rokushiki, thanks to Rob Lucci's teaching. Interestingly enough, her direct superior is none other than Spandam, who now posesses the title of Colonel and commands a troop of 250 Pacifista under his father, General Spandine.

Franky currently resides on the island of Ohara, which was thought to be completely destroyed by the buster call almost thirty years ago. He found the island through his underground ties as former boss of the Franky Family. Amazingly, there were countless books in a small lake that were untouched by the Buster Call. The past year was spent obtaining these books, drying them, and then trying to read each book for some way to beat the Pacifista. All of the books were hard if not impossible to read. Some even turned to ash during the drying process. One of the books he found detailed a kind of weapon that could use a mirror reflecting the rays of the moon in such a way that it would destroy anything that it touched.

Franky wasted no time building it to test it out. The instant night fell, he prepared to test this weapon when he found that it didn't appear to work. At first, he thought he got the schematics wrong due to misinterpretation. When he found out that everything was built as the schematics stated, he looked at the moon and found the problem. It appeared that the mirror wasn't pointed directly at the moon, but rather a small ship in front of the moon that almost couldn't be seen by the human eye.

He was shocked by such a discovery and, using his prowess, he converted the weapon into a spotlight and shined it on the moon. As if by fate, a lightning bolt struck right next to Franky. Thinking it was Nami by some miracle, he looked around frantically to see if it was her, only to be interrupted by a voice, "What were you doing by shining that light into my eyes, mortal?"

Franky turned around to see a man standing there. He had on a golden bandanna, terrifying-looking eyes, ears with earlobes that seemed to stretch down at least a foot, a large hoop sticking out of his back that made him look like a god of thunder, and donning a suit of what looked like golden armor. He couldn't believe his eyes, he summoned a god!
