I got a new TV for Christmas and I decided to try hooking my Wii up to it last night. There was a huge problem, the picture was in black and white. Any way I can solve this? I tried plugging the yellow, white, and red cables into just about every slot in the back of the TV but nothing worked. The brand is called Element. Do I need a new TV?

There should be a set of red-yellow-white sockets.
I could see perhaps getting that result if you plugged the yellow (composite video) plug into one of the component video (Y-Pb-Pr) sockets instead.

There are but when I plug them into those slots, nothing happens. I've flipped through every video mode and nothing shows up. It only shows the black and white picture when I plug it into green, blue, and red slots.

You may have to go to the menu and go to channel settings and mess around with whatever video channel you have it set to. This actually happened to me when I first got my wii. Everything was in black and white until I messed with the video-channel settings.

I'll try it but I'm afraid I may have to get a new TV. I like this one.
Edit: I'm such an idiot. I found the right plugs, practically hidden on the side of the TV. Now I can play my Wii.
