you mean like this:
! There are most probably people on this forum that can draw better than me but I did this out of fun. Also I took this with my camera phone since I do not have a scanner
That's really cool of you, Gepettosmonster. Chopper Tommyrod ftw.
I'd like to see someone do the Strawhats as the Arcobaleno (the Adult versions):
Luffy as Reborn
Robin as Luce
Nami as Lal Mirch
Brook as Skull (Get it? … Cheesy, yes)
Sanji as Collonnelo
Zoro as Fon
Usopp as Viper
Chopper as Verde
and Franky can be... Shamal. Yeah.
That'd be some great shit.

that would be epic, someone around here has a sig with reborn characters in one piece clothing, and hibari is in robins clothes which just made it so much better

Eh, wouldn't it be better to pair them according to the colours? Green - Zoro - Verde, and so on.

Honestly I thought Gokudera's plan was more lackluster than everyone made it appear to be. All he did was match elements; I thought I was going to reveal a plan that was actually clever. Like inquiring a little about the Shimon family, and stacking abilities/members that could compensate for each other.
And do people really think Shimon is weak? Because I'm not buying the way Amano has introduced them. They don't seem any different from other families, that is, a random collection of unique and talented individuals. They all most likely marginally match the members Vongola family. Have they not fought anyone at all of importance (important enough to increase their standing) yet?
Meh, maybe I'm just being a little too skeptical after reading that future arc. Besides this is just minor nit-picking. I'm in the middle about this arc… Could be decent, could be bad. Because from past (or future) experience, I don't really enjoy the way Amano deals with introducing multiple characters/concepts.
I just noticed that Enma's flame is upside down let see where this goes.
I enjoyed this chapter, but I didn't find anything surprising. I thought it was just supposed to be obvious that the sky flame would be the boss and that they would be strong fighters. So far though this arc seems to be pretty enjoyable.
this arc is becoming more and more interesting. i'm rather liking the shimon family little by little.
i'm really excited to see their abilities and the all new assasins/mafia groups
i also want to see another fight with hibari using the handcuffs in a new way
hibari uses his hand cuffs while dominatrix uses her whips..the perfect S&M combo…amano really thought this through:w00t:
Read the lastest chapter and liked it. What I'm most interested in seeing are the top-level Vongola executives and 9th generation Guardians if they are any. Also hoping the Varia show up either to help or hurt Tsuna and the gang.
The lastest anime ep was okay but no real Verde/Lambo interaction was disappointing.
Useless info I found while browsing the internet:
The Scandinavian name for a Ghost Orchid is Skogsfru. A Skogsfru was also a mythical being that told the shape of a long-haired, white-skinned (white as in the color, not Caucasian) woman who would wander the forests naked and lure men into the woods to have sex with them and then absorb (eat) them.
I wonder if this is where Amano got Ghost from? Probably just a coincidence, but then again…

nah she named them all after flowers i think
nah she named them all after flowers i think
- Byakuran for the White Orchid.
- Kikyo for the Chinese Bellflower.
- Zakuro for the Pomegranate.
- Daisy for the Daisy.
- Torikabuto for the Wolfsbane.
- Bluebell for the English Bluebell.
- Ghost for the Ghost Flower.
I'm aware, read what I wrote again: I mentioned that Skogsfru is the Scandinavian name for the Ghost Orchid, in addition to being the nymph in the myth.

ah my bad… that was stupid of me
Watched 182. That was great. Verde's "tutoring" of Lambo was hilarious, even though Lampo's "trial" was just him being lazy. Looking forward to Gokudera's trial. Also, Fon + I-Pin Combo attack for the win.
naming characters after flowers is really creative I think
There's a spoiler out, but it's untranslated, from what I could make of it:
! Everyone gathers at Tsuna's house. Ryohei gets into it with the Simon Sun Guardian, and the two fight. Also, since there's the phrase "maggot" used several times, I think Collonello shows up.
Also, just watched Episode 182. Was pretty good. More Skull abuse, and G's test was simple enough. Next is Hibari. That should be interesting.
! cool if colonello shows up. I'm still waiting on the arcabaleno back story
There's a spoiler out. I'm just gonna post this for the sheer awesomeness:
!
Ninth Generation Guardians, Fuck Yeah! (Btw, that guy with Long Hair isn't the 9th. The 9th is the guy cutoff at the far right.
! damn she's still keeping the 9th identity a secret cause if i'm not correct the 9th has never been shown except for in dark silouhettes. I actually hope something major goes down during this ceremony
! damn she's still keeping the 9th identity a secret cause if i'm not correct the 9th has never been shown except for in dark silouhettes. I actually hope something major goes down during this ceremony
! But wasn't the 9th identity revealed during the Varia arc, as Xanxus father or did i miss something here?
! damn she's still keeping the 9th identity a secret cause if i'm not correct the 9th has never been shown except for in dark silouhettes. I actually hope something major goes down during this ceremony
! The Ninth was shown in the Varia arc. He was Xanxus' adopted father, and Xanxus put his unconscious body into the Gola Mosca (the giant robot on his team) to make it look like Tsuna was attacking the Ninth in order to get him disqualified as a successor to the Vongola family. When confronted with the obvious fact that Xanxus would have had to attack the Ninth in order to get him into there, and therefore Xanxus should be disqualified, the Cervello women tell Tsuna's group "not to make unfounded accusations".

! Y'know I forgot all about that until I started watching some fight clips from the varia episodes of the anime and realised what a mistake I made by saying that the 9th was never shown
read the chapter @ mangareader.net
! Loved the chapter, I'm pretty drunk so.. didn't really concentrate much. I'm really excited that we're going to see the Ninth.
EDIT:
! NANI?! The Ninth was shown? I think the future arc erased my memories ;_;
Yeah, this is the 9th:
http://www.onemanga.com/Katekyo_Hitman_Reborn/122/12/
The guy holding Tsuna. His name is Timoteo. He uses a Scepter as his weapon (with Sky Flames, of course).
Oh, and the chapter is out. It's very suspicious that the Shimon Family is cooperating so well with the Vongola family, though it's too early for me to say if it's genuine or not yet. I'll wait a bit before making that determination. Also, looking forward to seeing the 9th Guardians. Those guys have had years of experience; they gotta be badasses.
Also, new Sig from the Chapter.

Like the sig, I was gonna take that same scene and have them say: Wonder twin powers Activate!!
I liked the chapter, the expressions were great and nice to see the Ninth come back into the story
! The story seem to the usual Daily Life stuff until the last page when all of the 9th guardians show up and have news about the leader of the obstructor?!
! so were getting an enemy for this arc now?
! so were getting an enemy for this arc now?
It could be other mafia groups who saw the future also and realized how muchpower Tsuna has.
From spacecat
!
that double pager looks epic
Just read the chapter. Damn, the old guardians look badass.
That was good chapter; seems like Mizuno is a beast…
Also, anyone else think that the 9th Storm Guardian looks like Gokudera/Bianchi's father? If I recall correctly, Gokudera's last name is from his mother, and Bianchi's last name has never been given, so that could be him.
I see some resemblance in the 9th storm and gokudera not much though. Those 9th guardians all look like a bunch of bad asses.
Good chapter. We finally get to see the 9th Guardians and they're not clones of Tsuna's group!
The whole Shimon thing could go either way or both if only one or a couple of them are traitors.
I can't help but speculate that the shimon group are there to aide the 10th but destroy the 9th.
Hey guys I am reading this manga now. Look forward to my bitingly acerbic wit and piercingly intuitive, thought-provoking commentary from here on in.
Having just read the entirety of this series in a few days, I have a few things that I'd like to just mention liking/disliking about this manga, gut reaction style:
-Characters I Hated Become Awesome – Or Did I Change?
Seriously, I thought Lambo was pointlessly obnoxious at first. Christ was I wrong. Even silly gimmicks like the 10-year bazooka get turned into serious plot devices (like, the plot hinges on them) hundreds of chapters down the line. This manga takes care of its characters, even the seemingly pointless ones, and that's friggin sweet. Gives a lot of credence to whatever else the mangaka does; I'm totally willing to cut him more slack.
Even a lot of the other main characters, which obviously conform to standard shounen typologies, grow into themselves really well. Hibari is a pimp, Gokudera has really come into his own, Yamamoto is just cool as hell in that insistently easy-going way of his while still being an intense badass ("Sorry, the shigure souen that I was taught is perfect, flawless, and indefeatable." Awesome.) and even Ryohei has come a long way as a character since his introduction.
The girls are still really underrepresented. Aside from the occasional "we're not gonna give in either! Hurr!" line, they don't have much to do with the story except as things to be protected or whose favor must be won. I guess it's written for adolescent boys so, not surprising. Just a shame.
Also, at first it seemed like characters were being continuously introduced and I doubted that all of them could fit in. I felt like a lot would fall by the wayside or get chucked into the well but most have really fit in.
-Just dumb enough, just smart enough
Most of the goofy, over-the-top, eye-rollingly stupid combat techniques get a similarly stupid explanation, which is par for the course for a lot of manga. However, a surprising amount get a DECENT explanation, are immediately written off (Reborn can just say "well, it's not important how such-and-such happens" and that's honestly good enough for me) or get a lampshade hung over em. It's cool that this manga doesn't go out of its way to insult your intelligence.
Stylistically, shit like the Storm Mink is still fucking dumb.
-Giggles and decent action scenes in the same chapter
Seriously what I read this stuff for. Something as simple as "Kangaryuu" can get me a chuckle or two and the action's not terrible at all. Not a lot of ZOOOMJ POWER LEVELS and even to the extent that it exists, it's within a reasonable frame (scientists going out of their way to measure it, say) so that it isn't awkward or as forced as some other stuff. Also I like the power-ups as they go with a little bit of training shown and much more implied, nothing sucks like a 5 to 10-chapter training arc, especially with this many major characters.
My current favorite manga is Beelzebub and it's largely because of its ability to fit comedy, character, style, and action into every damned chap. REBORN! does most of these things pretty well, too.
Of course I'm worried about where the strength can go from here. We'll see how the 9th generation stacks up against our heroes (if Xanxus beat the 9th and Tsuna beat Xanxus like 5 powerups ago… yeah, the shounen manga math is pretty simple here) and how Shimon family fares. It looked like that power-up would be somewhat temporary at first, but the kids totally got to bring back their box weapons and now know how to punk fools with the guardian rings. Also a downgrade was built in for Yamamoto (dedicated to the blade/dedicated to baseball) but none of the others seem to have that.
Tsuna especially is a mountain-levelling pimp, now. How will the 9th or Enma or any potential enemy stack up against that now? How can Dokuro still be relatively powerful in OUR time after being about as strong as those kids 10 years in the future? How will Chrome grow over time?
I'm not super worried; again, the manga has earned a bit of faith at this point. I guess I'm just curious. Looking forward to see where it goes.
Reborn is my favourite manga after One Piece but i think the Future Arc was rather lame at first.
But this arc is really good, this the Reborn i love.

This is a good series and even the long future arc wasn't as bad as most people here implied it just felt long because we had to wait week after week for chapters. The future arc started at volume 16 (I think) and probably ends in volume 29 if not than 30. Which would make this arc 15 volumes long and i'm sure there's a series with a longer arc than that. I'm looking at you bleach.
There is one thing I have to correct you on. This series is written by a chick not a dude.

I agree with all this… except...
I was under the impression we actually don't know the mangakas sex. At least a year ago we didn't. Kind of a mystery. I know a lot of people assume it's a girl and some RUMORS say so, but do we actually know now or something?
