! Jirochu and Pirako are back ! And it seems Asaemon and the prisoner mangaka joins the battle too! I hope Ketsuno Ana and co come so we can have some interactions with the yorozuya (Gin x Ketsuno and Shinpachi x Pandemonium)

! There's some pairs of feet at the end of the chapter that aren't instantly recognizable. I guess the ones beside Asaemon are either Ketsuno Ana & Gedomaru or Ane & Mone, but I can't quite tell. The only recurring characters really missing at this point are Otsuu, Taka-chin & Hedoro. And I could see Tama coming back with the help of Leukocyte King fending off the nano bots in her body.
! I love this final arc. -

! I love this final arc.! It would be even funnier if we have Takatin back instead of the regular Takachin! I love how this arc is going anf I am sure that the leukocyte king will also make an appearance. However I hope that Sorachi will manage to give correct timescreen to all these characters. The risk to have a messed ending like in Shaman King is very high due to the big number of characters…
! In another topic it seems we will have mini bosses fights just like we had with the three omnious stars last arc. I wonder who will fight against the three mercenaries leader. Kagura against the yato can be epic and I can see Shinpachi against the shinra even if I won't like it. It will be very hard for sorachi to make something better than Zura's fight. -
! Looks like in the newest chapter we actually get a serious backstory for Prince Hata. It looks like Shijaku of the Liberation Army is actually his brother. This finale keeps getting more amazing.

So i'm new to Gintama and heard a new anime started this weekend. Is it the kinda show you have to watch from the beginning? I watched the first 2 episodes of the 2005 anime, but i haven't had time to catch up?
Will I ruin it for myself by starting with season 4?
Additionally, would you guys recommend the manga over the anime?

About gintama anime vs manga, go with your favorite,both are good. Personally I like the anime better, their music direction and comedy timing is top notch, their fillers are Actualy funny (except episodes 1 and 2) and almost everything has been adapted.

I forgot how much I disliked this manga chapter. Because it's content and how it mean that it was the end of Business as usual.
This means that the rest of the disconected arcs aren't getting adapted?

Hey guys,

It is possible to not watch all of Gintama before the new season, but you have to watch quite a few certain episodes and arcs throughout it's run. Especially since the new season picks up right from the last arc and is purely plot from now on. Though I would recommend watching the whole thing, because it's just riddled with hilarious comedy and sometimes heartwarming stories. The beggining might be a bit slow in most points, but you appreciate these episodes more after having seen it all.
And I would recommend the anime, because the added jokes and fillers are just great. Coupled with great voice acting and soundtrack it is probably more enjoyable.

I just started reading Gintama and cannot ever remember laughing so hard reading a manga.

My final wish for gintama is not just a good ending, but a last fun arc. I'm a little worried by the mercenaries, the yato are going to be handled by the yato, and the drakni are being handled by almost all kabukicho, so who will handle the shinra? My wish is the renho, but I'll temper my desires. There are a few hurdles to overcome yet, but come on sorachi, 3 more volumes and a movie!
I just read a few key chapters of medaka box, and over everything that series did, from the mocking and idolization of the WSJ tropes, to the mindfuck of not knowing if the characters were breaking the fourth wall or being insane, the fact that after the final battle it got to go on for almost a volume and the epilogue, makes me wish the same for gintama.

Gintama dub is up on crunchyroll now. It seems they only dub Season 7 (Episodes 266 - 316) so far.

I have watch the first two episodes (Episodes 266 and 267) of the dub. The dub of Gintama is really good. I really who cast for Gin, Shinpachi, and Kagura, they fit perfectly for the characters. From what I heard of Tae, Kyubei, Okita, Katsura, Hasegawa, and Hijikata, the english voices for those characters work very well.

The 2nd half of episode 269 in the dub is amazing. Episode 269 was one of my favorite episode of Season 7.

Gintama failed to wow me with it's first 3 episodes, it wasn't untill I watched some of it's videogame themed episodes that I started to like it.

How close is the final arc to it's conclusion? I love Gintama but I can't enjoy it weekly, so I've had it on hold since the end of Kamui's arc.

I can't exactly tell, since Sorachi is really taking his time with the arc (which is great). I guess somewhere around the middle.
