I think the more I looked at the Ichiban Kuji SW figures, the better they look. If you want the Brook I'd suggest acting quick before it gets ridiculously expensive later like Nightmare Luffy and Oz from the previous prizes (I want those but I think I'll spend $$ on future stuff…you know they're gonna milk this series with merchandise as long as we're alive since this is the dragon ball of this era practically.....and they're STILL milking dragon ball).

Man, I don't know how you guys could pre-order so much stuff at once, especially with some of those pricier items being released so close to each other. I like limiting myself to what I pre-order, and am glad I got into getting only Strawhat P.O.P.s early. If I had to pre-order or back-order all the ones I don't have or didn't pick up, I'd probably have to declare bankruptcy or something. I guess it doesn't help that I'm also a gamer, comic book nerd, fiction book reader, and not to mention always buying stuff for cosplay and convention badges.

sweet! I just picked em up. Man how this figure collecting urge is growing. So far from HLJ I preordered SW versions of Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Robin. Sadly, no chopper or Luffy available.

There are two online stores that I know of that I've actually been to. Anime Jungle and Power Anime. Granted, I only go to their physical stores or buy from their convention booths, but they're trustworthy and get legit items. Jungle doesn't do pre-orders, but Power Anime does. They currently have Strong World Chopper ver. 1 for pre-order.

Just a quick question for you veteran collectors, as seeing most of the POP figures that are older seem to have such high price tags. Did you guys purchase them as they came out periodically? Or did you guys pay higher prices for them after they sold out? And if you guys did pay higher, if you dont mind how much did were you willing to shell out for em?

I bought mine when they first came out online, with the exception of the original P.O.P. of Sanji and Usopp/Chopper combo. Those two I bought when I first saw them at two separate conventions a few years ago, around the time they were originally released. Since then, I've either bought P.O.P.s when they first came out online or around the time I get to a convention that would conveniently have them. Two exceptions: I bought Bon Clay and Shanks last year after they've been out for a long time.
No, I have not "overpaid" for a P.O.P. And honestly, that's up to each person's utility to decide what's a fair price. IMO, for any P.O.P. that's a Neo version, you might be lucky enough to not overpay because they keep having second runs of production. Otherwise, I'd recommend not paying anything over 50% the retail price of it.

Also when opening your figures do you guys do anything in particular to the boxes? ie open them in a certain way and store em or just toss in the trash?
With my first figures the GL Luffy and Ace, I carefully cut the tape on the bottoms of the boxes and pulled em out through the bottom, and stored the boxes in a drawer in my cubicle.

I bought all my POPs when they were releasing.
The only POP I had to pay alot for (about 250$ with shipping) was Usopp+Chopper one.
I managed to get Smoker when he had restock on HLJ last year, and I found Bellemere and Tashigi for reasonable prises while they still weren't expensive. -
If you can go to a decent-sized anime convention near you, you might be able to get a P.O.P. at normal or slightly on sale prices. And for the most part, you don't have to pay any tax, and can try to haggle if you're planning to buy multiple items from the same store (granted, you'd only be able to shave off a few bucks, but hey, that's more money for food or other small trinkets).
I managed to find Mr. 2 for a steal at $35, and kaizoku-syn was able to get Tashigi at a pretty fair price at last year's Fanime, which is a smaller convention compared to Anime Expo.

I got all mine first-runs. Having a hard time paying the higher prices on current POPs (like the DX ones). I'm also clearing out some older ones. Got the originals, then the NEOs when those came out, the Mild and the DX phew! Collecting has been easy though as they really didn't come out that often. Now it's crazy with the amount of releases.
For my boxes, I used to think I'd NEVER sell any, so my 1st runs aren't in super-pristine condition except for a few. Once the value skyrocketed, I was very careful. Use an exacto knife to open very carefully and repackage well with all original wrapping when not on display. I have a HUGE stack of POP boxes in my basement. It's beginning to teeter with all the Mild boxes on top 6_6;;
I guess the going advice, and the advice I've ALWAYS given on POPs is get them while you can as soon as they're released. Saves a lot of money and heartache. Buy 2 if you can to resell, though I never have the money for it.
Then again, collectibles are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. What seems reasonable to one person is outrageous to another.Also, has anyone ordered from Angolz.com? I did once and it was fine, but does anyone order regularly? Is it always authentic? Thanks in advance

I've jumped on the figure band wagon recently myself. I've pre-ordered a ton of things from HLJ and I'm still trying to hunt down a decent place to pre-order SW Zoro from just in case my HLJ order doesn't get filled. I was all ready to buy a tashigi a few days ago and now there's none around at a decent price, lol.

Congrats, though Usopp is not my fav character, Sogeking is currently my favorite POP in terms of aesthetics and accessory details….might change come tomrrow though....something big's coming. Nice pictures.

I collected all mine within the last 3-4 months so prepare to shell out some $$ for the older ones if you want them. For the really rare ones, I'm willing to spend $250-$300 each. Older harder to find but not as rare, I've shelled out about $150-$200 each. Otherwise, the more current/not as rare ones I've spent about $60-$100 each. Value is only in the eye of the beholder, perhaps it seems too much to some or vice versa, some figures might be worth more to others.
