Ok. The point of this thread is essentially to keep – for record and reference I suppose -- track of all the geographical images, maps, and diagrams Oda's provides for us in his Manga (or Databooks, SBS, etc). Aside from that, I suppose this can be updated when the time comes and discussed from there. Anyways, while I don't think all of these images are intended to be used as exact outlines from Oda, I figured it might be fun to speculate and have them for reference. This thread can go well with this thread in the sense that you can get an idea of the time and distances of the story. Any other ideas for the 1st post are welcome, as things like this are pretty useful and interesting to discuss. Lastly, I removed a majority of the dialog bubbles and comment boxes from these images that were unnecessary. Anyways:

Good thread, I thought of doing it myself. The AP main site has some good pics that illustrate the OP world and the GL specifically.

Never saw the first two, they seem to depict the OP world similar to the real world since it's on its axis.

Yeah I haven't done a ton of research yet, but I planned on looking into it more after I got some input. The ones you are referring to, are they fan-made or canon? I personally have no problem using fan-made references as well, but I would (at the least) want to separate them in the first post so people do not confuse fact from fiction. Well, technically both are fiction, but you know what I mean.

Well the one I posted in the chap thread is canon but it is colored and the hand pointing to Reverse Mountain is removed. It's probably just a fan who re-drew the pic and colored it.

Wow. I just checked the chapter thread and there is a ton of stuff going on. While I was making this I didn't even notice. lol. When I have some time over the weekend I will try to find and edit/clean post them. Looks like some of those are from the anime…? I'd like to stick to the manga for "canon", and have a sub-section below for fan-art and anime ones if at all possible. IDK. I could use whatever help for finding this stuff. lol.

That first picture is how I've always invisioned the world, with the Blues at the cardinal direction positions (i.e. North Blue = Top most part of the world) and that any picture of the Grand Line and/or Red Line being North/South, East/West were drawn that way because it would look funky going diagonally across the page. Or something.

I think that second pic just means the scholars of the OP world believe their planet is the center of their galaxy and everything revolves around it, kind of like what ancient Greeks believed until Galileo came along. But only if that's actually the planet which I don't think it is considering they don't have a world map. Or maybe not an accurate world map. Hm…

Alright. I added those two. I could use a better quality raw of chapter 51 (Volume 6) if anyone has it. For the matter I could use a better quality raw of chapter 219 as well (Volume 24). Chapter 219 has Skypiea's map. Some reason I could have sword there was a more clear version somewhere, like a color spread or something. Must be my imagination. Any help would be appreciated for those raws, as mine are LQ/MQ. Again, any other maps I am missing, or geographical spots in the manga let me know!

The point is why did it take the Straw Hat Crews hours to reach Enies Lobby but it took 4 or 5 days to reach the Red Line? Where wasa the Florian Triangle suppose to be loctated at? where was Banaro suppose to be? After Thriller Bark it took several days to get to the Red Line, it may have been a day or 2 before Thriller Bark but it took 30 minutes for the Buster Call to go from Marineford to Enies Lobby so why did it take many days to get to the Red Line? I'm really confused here.

WG & Marine reserved speed currents. They`ll do it everytime.

Plus youve gotta figure Luffy and Co. were preeeeeeeeeeeeetty close to RL at EL because they took a TRAIN to get there. Much different than a ship right? With a ship youve got all sorts of shit to deal with but a train takes you RIGHT where you`re going with no slow-down.

Good question joe, I found myself wondering about it myself.

It only took hours to reach Enies Lobby because they got there by train whereas it took days to reach the Red Line because they only have a slow ship. The Florian Triangle might be somewhere left between the Sabaody Archipelago and Enies Lobby. Dunno where Banaro Island is supposed to be. And it only took about half an hour for the Buster Call to get to Enies Lobby because they used those currents in the triangle between the MHQ, EL and ID.

Check Null for volume 20 onward. They do very good HQ cleans though I don't know if they have HQ for all of them.

From the map in 522 we see the GIANT whirlpool that the Marines have harnessed. So it takes 7 days (with no currents, going through the Calm Belt) to get to Impel Down, but only 4 days if they go through the Gates of Justice. In other words it takes 4 days to get to Enies Lobby from Amazon Lily and another 30mins through the whirlpool to get to Impel Down because of crazy marine magic.

We know that there is no one sense of direction on the Grandline, but that from island to island, people generally travel towards the redline. However that doesn't mean they always go straight down that path. We know that Water7 is close to the Redline because their log post hit Fishman Island from there, so it's safe to say they took a straight line path to that location, which happens to be directly under Mariejoa. Looking at the map from chap 522, we can determine that Water7 CANNOT be directly south (from the point of view of this map) of Enies Lobby because that would put it in the path between W7 and Fishman island. So it must be east or south east, which means the Florian Triangle is also east of the Marine Whirlpool. (Two massive triangles of fucked up Grandline-horror-story right next to each other).

The only conflicting thing about the map in chap 522 is that it shows Marineford to be right in front of Mariejoa which is supposedly DIRECTLY on top of Fishman Island. But in chap 490 we see them at very position in front of the redline. So where the hell is Marineford if not there….

Do all log pose paths go through Florian? Or did it just happen to the SH because of their log pose? Would it make sense that one of the sides or corners of the Florian Triangle were Enies Lobby? By making EL one of the corners, no ships could go around because the current would sweep them aside if they go south, or they potentially run into the calm belt if the try to sail around it to the noth. So in Kibagami's drawing, move the blue triangle down so the right point is on EL. Then make the left triangle side but up against the calm belt to the north which is the left side of that map. That would force all ships through Florian. If they try to go around the FT, they would hit the calm belt either way.

You can't get inside that triangle unless you go through a gate. Re-look at the picture and you can see the currents all push you out.

And don't say because of the SH's Dock 0 thing. IF you do then explain how hundreds of other ships every year dissapear from there. they couldn't possibly enter if you needed the paddle ship sunny.

I noticed that the map posted by joekido The Second was a map made by giamini of the one piece trad team. Unless Joekido is giamini i would suggest to correct the credits for this map in your first post. But i also want to thank joekido for posting the link here. It's also great that he has found it.

So, basing myself on the map where Shakka talks, we can see Raftel as the last island. Has anyone wondered why is it so difficult to get there? I mean, even the marines could just go through the calm belt with their special ships and reach it, right?.. And watching that map, it still seems like any normal island, nothing is particularly blocking it. I wonder what explaination Oda might have for it being such a challange to go there. :ninja:

Thanks for letting me know. I will correct that. The map isn't accurate, and there are a few flaws that can be easily pointed out, but I like the overall flow of the map. I think it could be useful for people – but could also confuse. Thus why I put the warning that it might not be accurate. Anyways, that's neither here nor there. Thanks for the point out.

Keep in mind these maps are just mock-up maps by Oda. I doubt serious thought went into a good many of them, so while others are meant to be accurate that particular map might just be a rough generalization.

Without a logpose or visual sighting of it from the calmbelt/redline its going to be a bitch to find it since it's impossible to navigate normally inside the grand line.

Also there is likely some kind of area similar to that of the florian triangle (if you belive that the shadowy thing in the fog after TB left the tirangle is responsible for most of those 100s of ships dissapearing, and that Moria only took the crews of a handfull.)

Another possibility is that there could be some kind of mountain wall surrrounding the island preventing ships from simply landing at the island without finding the proper way in.

Or the island is secretly submerged inside a seaking nest/is a secret skyisland… or whatever.

The most likely senario is still that since you can't navigate for shitwithout the logpose you can't find it by cheating the marine way.
