Best OP opening song

Brand new world. !
-
Share the World has all the energy of Ben Stein on tranquilizers. It's great if you're looking for something to put you to sleep, less so if you're trying to make an anime opening.
Better
If Share the World has the energy of Ben Stein of tranquilizers, then Crazy Rainbow Star has the energy of Ben Stein in a coffin. it's totally melancholy, depressing and constitutes of noting but simply a dull, catchy tune. Not only does Share the World have more energy than Crazy Rainbow, it is one of the most energetic openings period and perfectly complements the animation with its beats. Go look at the video you made, notice how Crazy Rainbow didn't fit any of the action. Go look at Share the World, every good beat matches a transition scene. Not to mention it's faster and has more noticeable beats. And you're actually claiming it has no energy. If you can't hear the sheer energy and passion as the singer is clearly screaming, at the top of his lungs, when he sings that "I believe" bit (he does it 3 times, when silhouettes the Straw Hats are running together, when we get the Shickibukai cameos and during that montage of Ace and Luffy back to back) then I am sorry to say but something must be wrong with your ears. Opposed to that dull, monotone, scratchy other song lacks any energy at all throughout. I mean during half the song, there isn't any singing but lame, scratchy guitar playing.
-
You call Crazy Rainbow "melancholy and depressing" and go on to say there's something wrong with MY ears? That's hilarious.

Where's the energy? Where's the passion? It's like some slow, boring country western song/techno awful hybrid. It's not One Piece at all.
-
For Me - I can't decide between Kokoro No Chizu, and Hikari E
Both Songs are great, so I guess I can have two favourites.
But in a way, Kokoro No Chizu was the first Real One Piece Opening I heard, so it represents to me, much more than an opening, but freedom, in that I could watch the REAL (Not 4KIDS Dubbed!) One Piece, whenever I liked.

Seriously, there's something wrong with your brain. There's nothing country western about Crazy Rainbow and as for "techno awful"… how can you possibly describe Crazy Rainbow as "techno awful" while proclaiming love for Share the World, which is pure, concentrated, crappy techno?
Crazy Rainbow isn't techno. It's more like punk rock mixed with a tropical melody.
You want energy and passion? Then how can you like Share the World? It's damn near completely monotone.

And that's why it's awful. it's like some sort of scratchy, monotone fixed tune played over and over again. And I noticed how you didn't answer my questions.

Dude, you are flat out describing Share the World now!
@Thousand:
And I noticed how you didn't answer my questions.
There's nothing to answer. It's all there in the song. That's all it is.
That's like asking where's the heat in the sun? It's a question so absurd it doesn't deserve a response.
-
Crazy Rainbow Star and Share the World both suck, how's that?
-
Considerably less fun. :p

No I'm not. Crazy rainbow Star has ZERO passion or energy while in Share the World we get tons of it with the singer literally throwing out everything he has every second going "yeah yeah yeah!!!" The beats alone give it more energy than Crazy Rainbow Star and add in the vocals and it's not even a contest.

The only thing in that paragraph that you're right about is that it's not even a contest. Claiming that Crazy Rainbow has zero energy while stating that Share the World has tons of it only makes sense if you replace the word energy with something else. Like repetition, dullness, predictability…
It's has the energy of a lullaby and is as interesting as brown paint. If you've heard the first thirty seconds of it, you've pretty much heard everything the song has to offer and the next two minutes are just spent repeating those parts again and again and again.
At least Crazy Rainbow switches it up.
-
I don't much care for the music, but the best intro is Share the Urouge. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to vote for it.

If you replace Share the World with Crazy Rainbow, you have an apt description for that song.

There's really no need to debate this. You're clearly not going to change your opinion given how stubborn and how hard of hearing you are. Let me just point out there's a reason why Crazy Rainbow Star has much less votes than Share the World and before you cite because of the animation and it's new and all, would that really be enough to give it such a LARGE difference to the point where it's on par with Brand New World and Kokoro no Chizu? I think not.

I think so. Look at Jungle P. Last time this topic came around Jungle P. had 50% more votes than Crazy Rainbow. Now it's apparently the least popular.
I have no problem operating under the assumption that people voting for Share the World are easily distracted by pretty pictures. They're likely the same people that piss themselves over the last 35 seconds of Brand New World while convienently forgetting the 1:15 of uninspired lameness that proceeds it. These are not objective or well thought out opinions and they hold very little weight.
Likewise, Crazy Rainbow gets a bad rap because it was the first of the 2:30 openings so it was longer than people were used to and it was used for an unusually long time so people grew tired of it. There is a common resentment towards Crazy Rainbow that ANY opening would have suffered under those circumstances. It's paned by the sheeple because hating on Crazy Rainbow is the 'cool' thing to do, but the reasoning for that has nothing to do with any aspects of the intro itself.

Nah, I think people just hate it because the song sucks. If it were really suffering bias for being the first long opening, that goes to show how neither its song nor its animation were nearly enough to outbalance this even slightly i.e. it sucks. And it's not up to you to judge what opinion holds weight considering you actually think Crazy Rainbow Star is a decent song.
-
If there's one thing I don't like about the vast majority of Japanese music, it's their inability to make a damn bit of sense. Crazy Rainbow Star is, to me, more obviously incoherent nonsense because of the English lyrics.
-

You can think that all you like, but you're wrong.

Except that… it is. It's become more appreciated as time passes. Even in this poll it's apparently as popular as Bon Voyage and Hikari E and more popular than Jungle P. Considering it's the only one of those four with a clear disadvantage, I'd say it's going fairly well.
@Thousand:

Crazy Rainbow is decent. I'd rank it as 5th out of the 10. Those that become so enamored with two seconds of Straw Hat vs. Kuma fighting and seeing a first glimps at a bunch of upcoming characters are the ones not fit to judge. Just like Jungle P when everybody was going nuts for Brooke, this will fall in popularity as well.
-
Quick everybody, pour your votes into something other than Crazy Rainbow to spite Charagon!!
Me, I thought the song was too slow and draggy for two and a half minutes. It's important to grab the audience's attention during an opening, but lounging on a tropical island set to sleepy, relaxed music in the middle of an action-packed arc is not the way to do it. Images aren't everything, but they are important. Plus, silly sounding English lyrics like Crazy Crazy Rainbow Star/I'm a Crazy Rainbow Star that are repeated over and over are not exactly appealing to me, and I'm sure, and know, that others have agreed on that point in the past.

No I'm not. The song is awful and your sense of taste is awful.
You mean the poll for the best song where the three favorite songs are way in the lead and the rest of the songs are about the same level? Gee no wonder. You can't compare squat between low numbers. It's only large differences that can be sued as indicators. Like how MUCH MORE people like Share the World.
Neither are those with hearing disorders are fit to judge.

QFT, this is exactly what was wrong with it but I just couldn't put it into words. Thank you Crossword^^!!! Honestly, who can claim that dull, boring lullaby music is energetic?
-
Kokoro no Chizu and the new opening are pretty damn awesome. But, number one, has to be the original. It kicks ass even now.
-
I personally prefer Share the World over Crazy Rainbow Star, although I don't think Share the World is the best.
My Opinions:
1- Jungle P (Love)
2- Brand New World (Love)
3- Kokoro No Chizu (Love)
4- We Are Remix (Strongly Like)
5- Bon Voyage (Strongly Like)
6- Share the World (Like)
7- Believe (Like)
8- We Are (Original/Straw Hat) (Like)
9. Hikari E (It's ok…)
10. Crazy Rainbow Star (Dislike)Really I like everything except for Hikari E and Crazy Rainbow.
-
believe is the best one which is why it stuck around longest.
Next would be share the world and third would be Kokoro no Chizu.
the rest are pretty meh and forgettable. -
Opening 2, 5 = awesome
Opening 1, 6 = great
Opening 3, 4 = all right
Opening 7, 8 = OK
Opening 9, 10 = shit.

See, it's things like this that make me think you aren't aware of which song is which. Practically everything you've accused Crazy Rainbow of, Share the World is guilty of worse.
Crazy Rainbow starts with a relaxing guitar tune, amps it up a little with a second electric guitar, pulls back for half a measure, and then hits you with the brass section. And that's before the vocals even start. From then on the vocals, guitars, and brass take turns mixing it up.
Share the World starts off with what is literally a lullaby tune followed by some gentle singing for a couple measures before transitioning into annoyingly loud singing and crappy techno. From there it rotates between two different vocalists repeating one of three basic tunes over and over and over ad nauseum.
Plus, silly sounding English lyrics like Crazy Crazy Rainbow Star/I'm a Crazy Rainbow Star that are repeated over and over are not exactly appealing to me, and I'm sure, and know, that others have agreed on that point in the past.
Come on lets go everybody oh we share the music. Come on lets go baby baby oh we share the one world? Share the one world now?
Between you and Thousand Lion it's pretty clear I'm right to assume that people picking Share the World are the ones easily distracted by pretty pictures because it's obvious neither of you have actually listened to the song in question.

Dude, seriously. I think we've established that Share the World is better than Crazy Rainbow Star.
-

I find Engrish in J-pop silly either way. Just some times I find it more silly than others.
It all boils down to personal preference really. I overall prefer songs with a more upbeat pace than what Crazy Rainbow had to offer. Slower songs have their place and I enjoy those too, but I feel that Crazy Rainbow was dull by anime opening standards and overstayed its welcome both in length and episode count. On its own I find it an okay song, just not in the context of an opening.
As for the musical qualities of Share the World, well, I'm not a music buff who takes a microscope (or in this case, a mixing console) to every song I hear. Maybe that's why I can enjoy it and other songs that others may disagree on; I haven't ruined it for myself.
-
I haven't ruined it for myself.
I think I smell something burning. And it smells like wolf claws!
-

More like an Eastern dragon.
-
Wait…oh, you're right. Damn it, this is the second time I've confused two people today!
-
Now let's be clear here. I'm not championing Crazy Rainbow. It's good, it's not great, but it's not horrible.
But Share the World… it's boring. It's super repetitive. Say "One AndAhTwo One AndAhTwo" (if you have any sort of background in music you'll get this) over and over for fifteen seconds. How fun was that? That's in the song. Twice.
The "come on let's go" lines. It's the same line four times in a row. They do that three times in the song so they essentially repeat the same two measures twelve times.Crazy Rainbow switches between mellow guitar, heavy brass, high and low vocals, and mixtures of it all. It changes gears between high and low energy in an instant.
Share the World has three speeds of vocals with maybe 10 unique measures between them repeated again and again and again and again and again. They don't combine and they don't change. Once you've heard "Come on let's go" the first time it sounds the same every one of the other eleven times it's played.
It's... well... techo. -
My all time favortie is Bon Voyage. Something about the music and the lyrics just… well, for me, awesome and inspiring. My second favorite would be Kokoro no Chizu. The music... especially at the begining, gives you this very insperational, awe-inspiring and excited feeling that is so very hard to put into words. After that is Brand New World. It's awesome, that's all I can say. And last but not least is Share the World. It's so different and fresh, but still in the OP spirit. :D All the ones after that are pretty much the same in ranking, but all good in their own right, that's for sure. <3
-
My 3 favs are Crazy Rainbow Star, Share the world, believe only because django & fullbody rock it XDD nah not only that because its a good song to get funky to~ -starts dancing like fullbody- XDDDDD
-
You guys are all fagots for not liking Bon Voyage.
My all time favortie is Bon Voyage.
Except for you. You're cool.
-
Bon Voyage would be great if not for the overly long "Merry sailing on bad CGI water" sequence and the "chibi-straw hats in technocolor" sequence. Everything else is aces.
-
You guys are all fagots for not liking Bon Voyage.
Except for you. You're cool.
I like Bon Voyage….I even voted for it.
-
WHAT?!? This isn't fair. You can't vote for Share the World now!
-
Looks like Share The World sucks so much that it was rejected completely from the internet. :p
-
How can people get the titles wrong, even though there at the top of the page?
As for me, the order of my favorite are…
1. Brand New World
2. Kokoro no Chizu
3. Bon Voyage
4. Crazy Rainbow
5. Share the World
6. Jungle P
7. We Are ~remixed~
8. We are
9. Believe
10. We Are ~starwhat mix with Robin~
11. Hikari e -

Meh, it's got some pretty cool animation, but the song itself is mediocre at best. In my opinion, anyway.

Better than Crazy fudgin' Rainbow.
-
Weird, not only Share the World was removed (it was winning), also now the votes aren't visible anymore.
edit: Ah, i see. It was merged with an older thread and screwed the poll.
-
Sailing day.
Yes, it should've been an official opening. It fits perfectly.
But nothing beats original We are! , I guess.
-
The best opening song for your viewing pleasure:
-RXI5c_rw0E&feature=related
And you know it…

I don't really remember what it is called.. but the season 9 one was the best IMO. I'm guessing it is Jungle P.
