Whacking day, Homer at the bat and Last exit to springfield. But in general season 4-5 have the best episodes.
I've always been fond to "Lemon of Troy," so many good memories. 
You can take pretty much any episode from Season 6 and you can be sure it'll be one of my favourites.

I've spent the last few months watching seasons 3-10 on DVD and these are the two favorites I could come up with:
Marge Vs. The Monorail - Phil Hartman as Lyle Lanley and Leonard Nimoy's guest appearance were great performances in an incredibly written Conan O'Brien episode.
Cape Feare - Still the best Sideshow Bob episode (just ahead of Brother From Another Series) plus the ridiculous rake gag and the now trademark Sideshow Bob music which first appears in this episode make this one legendary for me.

I liked the earlier Simpsons episodes. That's about as accurate as I can be.
New Simpsons episodes make me think of Family guy, only less funny and with even less plot. Around 14 was when I started losing faith.

I know I'm missing alot of favorites, but this is my list for now. I should really rewatch some of the DVDs when I get the chance.
I honestly used to not like the first season. It was probably becasue Homer's voice was kind of annoying to me, and was still how it sounded back in the Tracey Ulman shorts.
Oh yeah, really, any of the OLD I mean like 2000 and less Treehouse of Horror episodes. I love them, and they'll start playing soon on TV again since its near halloween. Always hated it though that they played them in November. -_-
But seriously, the Simpsons is terrible at the moment. It's almost as bad as American Dad or Family Guy. King of the Hill was never really funny tbh, but I still watch it since the plot usually is somewhat amusing or enjoyable.
Meh, Simpsons hasn't been too great recently. I think it's still okay and funny on occasion though.
FG and AD go up and down for me. I've always liked King of the Hill, it has some good storylines and it can be quite funny.

I enjoyed the movie, too. That was probably the most I had laughed at the recent Simpsons in a long time. In fact, I don't think I've seen a new episode after watching it.
Some favorites from the sixth season were "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" (Both of 'em), and Itchy & Scratchyland.
I have two: the Softball episode (Mr. Burns makes his workers play softball), and Lemon of Troy (Shelbyville steals the Springfield lemon tree).
Hank Scorpio: if you dont like them then i dont like them good boy shoes. Ever seen a man say good by to shoies before?

Homer Loves Flanders, You Only Move Twice, and 22 Short Films about Springfield are all fucking awesome and are the best episodes by far.
Lemon of Troy, Homer Goes to College, SupercalifragilisticexpealiDOHcious and whatever the one where Skinner gets fired when Bart brings Santa's little helper is called all deserve honorable mention.
The episode that looked back when Lisa was born and Bart was jealous of her.
Not only did I enjoy that episode, but at the end when Maggie (while no one is in the room) says "Daddy", it always makes me want to cry.

anyone remembers that really old episode where bart runs away after chrushing Lisa´s Thanksgiving-project ?
It focused on the siblings relationship and had a really cute cosy ending with bart and lisa forgiving each other on top of their house.
I remember those old episodes had a coherent story (something new episode kinda lack)

How could I forget about the classic Sideshow Bob episodes? My favorite out of the ones he's been in are probably Black Widower, and Cape Feare. The whole rake scene from the latter never fails to crack me up.
