Exactly that. And it hasn't been the first or will it be the last.

@Long:
Think ace emerging from handcuffs was him too
That's right thanks!
-
Missing ones from off the top of my head:
- Luffy twisting himself up and using the momentum to throw Lucci around during their fight
- Brief cut of Luffy and one of Duval's Flying Fish riders emerging from the water on the way to the auction house
- Luffy holding back Magellan's Venom Demon with Gigant Stamp
- Whitebeard trying to knock down the giant containment walls
- The Land of Death gas flooding Punk Hazard
- The Admiral and Warlord (+ Smoker & Sentomaru)attack montages in One Day and a few miscellaneous cuts in Kaze wo Sagashite
- Straw Hat montage in Fight Together
- Straw Hat attack montages in We Go! and Hard Knock Days
- Luffy vs. Hody in Gigant Battle 2's intro sequence
- Gear Second Luffy saving Nami and Usopp from Shiki in Movie 10
If that "Luffy x Rebecca" you're referring to is what I think it is, that was actually Tomita who animated that, not Shida

Wasn't Robin's Cien Fleurs Wings on Thriller Bark Shida as well?

Huh, I thought 745 was going to be a Yokoyama episode going by the preview. Maybe he was just doing some key animation on the side. Really wish someone other than Ueda was directing that episode though.
Hm, the Silver Mine arc might be longer than the three-parters we've been getting going by the released titles.

Ah, that explains the title. I was going to say, I don't remember any fights happening in the last chapter of Dressrosa.

For those of you(me included… Somewhat) who thought that fillers are a bad investment for promoting or increasing the earnings of any show(in japan specifically) and that toei might not make any fillers because they would get lower ratings or less attention... We can kiss our opinions goodbye(no offense)
+this article also gives me the opportunity to say that the anime needs(obviously) and can(undoubtebly) afford fillers...
-
It doesnt mean they woudlnt be more profitable without filler
God i hate filler. At least keep the filler out of the cannon episodes -

What has that info anything to do with TV ratings and the anime in specific? TV Tokyo as one of the right holders of those series get sales from all revenue options, or at least a significant portion of it. Naruto received sales mainly from The 2 last movies(The last and Boruto) that both broke the latest record of Naruto movies sales. And still From all games and everything else.

Did you read the article?
The sources of sales for Naruto include money generated domestically from the episodes themselves, The Last: Naruto the Movie, Boruto: Naruto the Movie, overseas licensing, and the sales of video games worldwide.
Naruto has been getting awful ratings for a while, and although we can't determine exactly how much the merchandise sales, movie tickets and licensing are affected by the episodes' contents, it's safe to assume the franchise could be in a much better place if the tv series wasn't performing so terribly for a few years now. The fact it beat the Pokemon anime and Yu-Gi-Oh!, which are also long past their prime, isn't exactly impressive.
Besides, Toei makes a lot more money with One Piece and Dragon Ball in every front from ratings to box office, so what's the relevance? Fuji doesn't need to take lessons from a smaller tv station either.
-
Then why doesnt one piece do the same… + considering the fact that the movie is coming out next month and that we get a filler arc next week this is the perfect opportunity(or least unprofitable period... if that makes sense) to make more fillers... Also... Why do you just emphasize on tv ratings... naruto despite having like 40-50 (or something like that) atrocious filler eps(in my opinion) this past year... It still managed to hold the title of tv tokyo's best-selling anime
*what i mean is that one piece has immence popularity... So it wouldn't be that big of a deal

I'm confused. One Piece is Toei animation number one franchise and almost certainly Fuji TV too, they are both way bigger than Naruto and TV Tokyo. And you're asking why they don't do the same, and saying that they should?
Naruto was able to hold the title of TV Tokyo best-selling anime, but it had little to do with the TV anime. Do you forget that last year Naruto got Naruto the Last and Boruto the Movie?
This makes no sense. It is because One Piece has immense popularity that this is that big of a deal! If One Piece gets half the popularity and sales it has right now it means Toei Animation loses around 3 Billion Yen(28.8 Million dollars), if we don't count Dragon Ball, that probably still means being the most profitable Toei Animation and Fuji TV series. Though that doesn't mean that 28.8 Million dollars isn't that big of a deal.

I take it you mean that money earned from movies doesn't count as money(although you probably don't mean that)…
I apologize for not being more specific... When i said they should do the same... I didn't mean fillers by themselves but using movies as a means of making the filler less unprofitable... If that makes any sense
- me saying that it wouldn't be a big deal was incorrect... I agree with you... But i hope you understood my general point/idea

Do you follow Naruto? Or were you following it in 2015? Naruto the Last and Boruto the Movie are movies following the end of Naruto manga, and they are canon. The anime is still right behind in adapting manga material. So they are highly independent from each other. I was saying that TV Tokyo earning money from those movies doesn't have to do with the TV anime. The TV anime could have ended already, and the movie would do the same or higher(given that some anime only watcher probably didn't went to watch the movie).
Instead of looking at it as Movies doing filler less unprofitable, think of it, of fillers making the TV anime less profitable. while the fillers are less unprofitable close to the movies, normal episodes would be more profitable with the movie. So they are in fact losing the exact same, only with a plus of Movie profit.

Preview for the new 3DS game contains some new animation. It looks ok, some strange in-between animation, I don't think it will top Grand Battle X's opening.

That explains where Shida's been lately.
A 2D One Piece fighter by the BlazBlue guys is great but…that gameplay looks very slow for a fighting game.

Shida's been working on Film Gold.

Yeah, He confirmed it on twitter that he has been working on Film Gold

Can someone link Shida's twitter?

Does anyone here talk with shida or other animators? … Just curious

Dressrosa Sakuga
-
I'd totally forgotten that Sato did that Red Hawk scene. Even though he's obviously working with a lower budget you can clearly see the Movie 10/Z/GOLD animation style in there, complete with Umakoshi-esque eye distortion. Impressive work, given the sheer volume of content this arc had. Watching this, I have to say that Sera Yamaguchi and Midori Matsuda were among the unsung heroes of the arc. Yamaguchi in particular you can see get progressively better the longer the arc goes on. The shift to the sketchy, 80s' blue sequence when Franky defeats Senor Pink left an impression on me when that episode first aired, so I'm glad that we finally know the name behind it. I hope Takara's promotion to animation director means that he'll be with the show for a good while yet. Thanks for the hard work!
-
Fantastic, Murad. I didn't remember almost half of the sakuga shown. Thanks for going through dozens of hours of One Piece to put this together. Did you have to omit some scenes? There are a few that I recall, like the King Punch and Luffy vs Chinjao haki clash, that are missing. And may I link this video on Reddit so that more of the community can see it?
-
Dressrosa arc had Some new guys I've never heard about, Sera Yamaguchi and Midori Matsuda put out some great work (also loved Sera blue sketch style punch for Franky vs senoir fight). Not sure what got into Akihiro Ota in this arc dude has been on fire lately (l uffy & law being eaten by that toy and kryo arcobatic sword fight with diamante was too good). Dressrosa was the arc where the new guys developed themselfs to fill in the gap left by the old guard imo. Great work Murad loved it.

Exactly, it felt like a cheaper ver of movie 10. Thanks a lot, this arc was really lengthy I had to re-edit this MAD more than 10 times, because when I was browsing some random episodes, I keep stumbling upon good scenes, even though I keep a list of cool work. Overall, I'm very happy with the arc.Figuring out Yamaguchi was a bit tough, but what I liked about her, is that her style is consistent, and as you said, it progressively got better with every new episode. I hope to see more from her.@MasterKingJC:

Neither did I, until I made the MAD. lolThanks a lot, yeah I had to omit some scenes, but I doubt it's very worthy. King's punch should have been added, but there was no space left. I already skimmed a lot of scenes.Luffy vs. chinjao is there, but really small cut.Yeah, sure…Do as you like.@Machineman:

Akihiro Ota was crazy awesome, I wished if he participated in the final fight, either way, we still got a satisfying conclusion.
