If Luffy were to fight with a weapon, what weapon would best suit him?
I think that the best weapon for him would be the Reject dial. He wouldn't have to learn anything new to use it and, more importantly, it would look really cool.

Yeah, almost anyone is gonna say weapons that just add to Luffy's Fists.
If it's something that goes on his fists like gloves, then he doesn't have to change his fighting style, since changing would be hard for Luffy (Not counting Nightmare Luffy)
I'd say give him something like this
It's basically a blade that is held in one's fist. You take the Raw Power of Luffy's punches and add a full blade?

Those would most likely affect Luffy as well. I don't think Luffy needs to use any weapons other than his own fists and maybe augmentation of his fists. I'm waiting for someone to come in here and say "omg luffy should use a zanpakuto!!!1!!!1" or something similar to that

thats true, but honestly id like to see luffy use some type of permanent additional weapon, similar to how whitebeard has his bisento, shanks has a saber, etc.
luffy seems to only get temporary weapons such as the wax gloves from mr 3. -

The only weapon i could picture luffy with is a staff of some sort. Luffy would not use a sword because…he doesn't like to kill people, and it would be weird with him stretching out with a sword. Kind of like that one dude from soul calibur(Can't remember his name).
