[VS] One Piece 372 - Eng Sub (704x400).mp4.torrent
…And if I'm allowed to brag for a bit, that was a REALLY quick release, though that's mostly due to the fact that the second half of the episode doesn't really have all that much dialogue.
One Piece 372 by me and Elric

vs stands for? -
Thanks a lot guys.
Great as alwaysTotal "Kishishishi"-count this episode: 12
LoL.
I didn't count them, but 12 is too much imo -
12 is correct. Their distribution is quite telling as well. Not a single laugh in the second half of the episode.
-
That episode was amazing!
The animation really delivered and Mayumi playing three different versions of Luffy's voice was really impressive! She must've really been stressed out when she realized she had to pull that off!XDD -
Yeah, i noticed that too. Odz and NL sounded pretty different from each other - and neither of them talks like regular Luffy. Mayumi Tanaka is great.
anyway, thanks for another fast and nice release.
-
Many a thanks, +16 respects.
-
Arigato you two
for people like me who cant use torrents ddl -
Good episode. I think Storm could have looked a little bit better but over all I am pleased. I can't wait for next week. I just might start watching the anime again.
Also I like how you guys use "gum gum" and other English terms.

No, we are not the MPAA trying to hack into your dvd collection. This is seriously a legit fansub and we really are just a harmless fansub group. In case you still have doubts about this torrent's authenticity please take a closer look at the filename: Yes, that's right! We even got our own 100% genuine group tag now.
Seriously though, after the first release that one guy at mininova said a tag would make the torrent look "more real" and I thought yeah why not, if that's all it takes to make another customer happy^^
Of course the ub3r cute pun 'sub guys could be functioning as a group name among other things but as you know we're serious business so joking around in the filenames was out of the question. It would have been too long anyway. But I digress…
What I wanted to say is I actually can not reveal the secret behind our tag at this point. Fact is Vegard and I have been planning a little contest for our friends. The first to uncover the mysterious truth behind the letters [VS] and send in the correct answer wins the grand price: A 100% free fansub of One Piece Episode 373 (the receipt of which irrevocably binds the lucky winner to purchase another 23 weekly shipments of fansub at a price of $11.98 per unit.)tl;dr:

Nah, none of our previous releases have had those either. I've just never found them necessary. I might start including them starting next week, though.

K'. You now get a free fansub of episode 373… Once it comes out. Also, because I'm such a cool guy, I'm even gonna let you get that WITHOUT having to pay for the next 23 episodes!

Yaaay…Now I'll able to afford Fallout 3 and Gears of war 2!!!

I love the fact that you use the English terms. Makes it closer to the English dub IMO

I actually prefer gomu gomu than gum gum… :ninja:
-
One thing though, you don't need to put "AAARUUUGGGHHHH!" when someone is yelling
I find that kind of distracting myself. Might be just me though
-
Maybe we shouldnt tell the subbers how to sub, guys?
Last time I saw that the person got annoyed and stopped subbing altogether. -

Last time I saw that the person got annoyed and stopped subbing altogether. Who/when/what/why?
I think Vegard is either like "deal with it" or "you have a point" without too much drama so expressing one's opinion in a civilized way shouldn't be overly dangerous
-
NO, HE HAS TO DO IT EXACTLY THE WAY I WANT OR ELSE I'M TELLING!
Great job with the episode, and man was that a super fast release. Looking forward to seeing/hearing "We Are!" again next week.
-
^LOL! I think NM's Storm was amazing in the anime, just as good as the manga…but the lack of epic "finisher" type music gave it away that the battles isn't over yet imho.

That and the spoilerish previews. Ok, NM Luffy blocking Oozu's punch in last weeks preview took the cake but during an arc finale any preview will be revealing too much.

Yeah. They showed about half of the big attacks the Strawhats use in the fight. That's part of the charm when I show my friends some of the old K-F episodes I've archived. They wonder what happens next, and aren't spoiled so much by the previews.
My brother just stops the episode right when he hears the preview music. Since he isn't a manga reader, it keeps him more in suspense.
-
Good idea. Seeing Oggy and Moria get back up will be a hundred times better that way. Hell, they even showed Moria sucking in the shadows
-
Just dropping in to show my appreciation for the subs! I completely lost my cool and burst out laughing when I saw the "Total Kishishi Count" at the end.
-
Where did people get the thunderstorm name anyways?
-
I especially like the fact that your subs aren't overly destroying with the "Wow, pretty attack names!" Watching your subs is JUST like watching the subs on the official DVDs, which makes it that much more enjoyable.
-
@Jet:

From the onemanga scan. That's where I saw it.
@ Ao Kiji: If I hadn't read the manga, the ending music when they start celebrating that Thriller Bark has fallen would've given me the impression that was the end, like some people believed when that happened in the manga. They've never really put any good "finisher type music" since Crocodile. That's what made me make my own version of "Luffy vs. Enel"…there was hardly any music in that finale episode.

@Ao:
Maybe we shouldnt tell the subbers how to sub, guys?
Last time I saw that the person got annoyed and stopped subbing altogether.Nah, I'm open to suggestions… As long as it's not "Use more japanese terms" or "Start using special effects in the subs". And I also have to ask: Who was it that got annoyed and stopped subbing because people were giving suggestions?
And about the "AAAAARGH"-s... Yeah, you might have a point there. Adding subtitles for those is propably even more unnecessary than including "Kishishishishi" in the subs.
-
Those "Gomu Gomu no Hammer" and "Thunderstorm" things were just results of a translator on drugs.
@Vegard:
And I also have to ask: Who was it that got annoyed and stopped subbing because people were giving suggestions?
I think it was that one guy from Sora-kaze, he gave up after 2 episodes..
-

I'd like to add them as softsubs in an .mkv container file. The overall quality would increase and you could also turn them off (even more dvd like) if you wanted to. I'm afraid though that many people might have problems with playback, mainly because they rely on VLC player (which they shouldn't).

Kishishis are necessary so people can check your Kishi count

NM storm was animated very well, my only problem was that in the manga it had a much larger radius and it just looked more vicious. All though I supposed Oz getting cut and the punch to Moria's face were both a lot more dramatic in the anime.
Hmm… upon looking at the two side by side, Luffy's just lower in the anime (ow, Oz's crotch >_<)
http://www.funpiece.com/storm.jpgAnyway about the ARUGHS!… I certainly won't stop you from putting them in, it's just extra work for you
Just trying to lighten the load

Well, to me, it still looks like NL's "Storm" has more coverage in the manga. Oz is still getting smashed in the face in the manga shot. However, the anime version, we see him get some up-close hits to the face, but once you see the establishing shot, the fists are nowhere near the face. Oh well, at least they showed Oz getting a few face hits rather than just a bunch of punches to the gut.
-
Excellent job, guys. I've been following the last few eps. that you two have worked on, and I'll be honest in saying I prefer your work over the other subbing groups.
Why?
- Easy to read subtitles.
- No distracting special effects or wacky fonts.
- Using proper English, instead of leaving in easily-translatable Japanese words like "Oi", "nakama", or "Gomu Gomu no". I especially am pleased that you put in "Gum Gum" and "Seven Warlords of the Sea."
- using a good quality video source, and quick release.
I know it's probably a lot of work, but we're thankful that someone here at Arlong Park Forums has taken up the challenge of providing fast quality fansubs of OP. So thanks.
Looking forward to more great work.

You know, it's a bit ironic when you say it like that, because the lack of effects and all that essentaily means that I've got LESS work to do than other groups. In other words, anime-fansubs in general would be better if they put in LESS effort into what they do. At least that's my opinion, as the current format we're doing here is pretty much what I consider the ideal fansub-style. (Minus the fact that the episodes are hardsubbed, but Elric already brought up the possible drawbacks of having softubbed videos.)
-
@Vegard:

Most of the time in an organized group, tasks are divided in a way that anyone can put effort in their work and achieve maximum quality, thus increasing overall quality. I mean some teams do effects, but that has nothing to do with the staff that works on the scripts (translator, timer, editor). In a organized team, effects are done by an independant subset of the team, so that really shouldn't bring quality down.

Thanks alot. I registered just to say thanks
The only thing I didn't like was Gum Gum.
Edit: How do I combine the softsubs and RAW together into a .mkv file?
Also, will all of your releases be timed according to Zero-Raws raws because I like Zero-Raws -
Thanks alot. I registered just to say thanks
The only thing I didn't like was Gum Gum.
Edit: How do I combine the softsubs and RAW together into a .mkv file?Use mkvmerge GUI, part of the mkvtoolnix package. Just drag the mp4 and the .ass into the input field and start muxing. For playback using the proper Impress Bt font on a computer that hasn't got that font installed you also need to add the Impress BT.ttf to the attachments before muxing.
I think I might have stumbled upon a small issue with the mkv softsubs' outline transparency though that wasn't present when watching the .ass separately but It's not an issue of the episode's main subs. -
Big Thanks to Vegard Aune and Elric, you guys rock!
Good episode

Yes, thanks very much:wub:
