Heh, just got krondor the betrayal at the used bookstore earlier today.
I'm going though robert asprin's Myth series. I'm almost done with the second, and looking forward to the third, my favorite in the series.

Cool. Are you a fan of martial arts? How does the brazilian jiu jitsu differs from capoeira?
I'm actually reading "The Brethren" by John Grisham. -
BJJ is a close relative of judo. It has nothing to do with capoeira, really. Expect the country of origin. I have been thinking of collecting a small library of martial arts books. Just to impress people.
-
carrion comfort by dan simmons. this author is awesome. go read hyperion fast! (i expect crimson hell to be taken from it or something)
-
Oh yeah! Hyperion. That book has occupied my "to read" list for a while now. To be honest I have never read anything by Dan Simmons before . But I will try to fix this oversight soon.
-
@starsinner:
Just out of curiosity, for those who always read, what is the book or books that you are currently reading? Except One piece, of course & which kind of book genre you rather read on?
Right now I'm just re-read "The Last Legion" by Valerio Massimo Manfredi
My genre is mainly horror and fantasy but i'm a succer for series.
-
I'm reading Homer's "The Iliad." Not of my own free will, however, it's for my winter intersession class.
-
Homer is a damn good poet.
-
i read the illiad a long time ago
it was ok
one of the most overrated books ever -
book? isn't Illiad suppose to be an epic poem?
-
book? isn't Illiad suppose to be an epic poem?
Well, it certainly is long enough to constitue a full book.
Anyway, I'm not really reading anything right now, but I need to finish Lord of the Rings one of these days.
-
Lord of the Rings is a good series took me a whole year in order to read it from start to finish. There are some extremly dull parts in it, the movies do justice to it. Another major problem with it I had was that J.R.R Tolkien sure loves to give detail (now I see where Stephen King and many other authors got it from, lol)
-
Curious incident of the dog at the night time, Im not really into books, but I'm starting to like it.
-
Ugh. I just finished the Fountainhead a week ago and now I'm trying to start Atlas Shrugged. I have no motivation to jump from a 800 page book to a 1200 page book. Oh well, I just gotta push through.
-
Is there a 1 millionth page book?
-
Two weeks ago, I started reading World Without End. It's the sequel to Pillars of the Earth. I'm about halfway through the book, and I can say that it's not even close to the prequel. That's not to say it's not a great book.
-
Crime and punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Simply genius
-
Angela's Ashes
Fugatives and Refugees
and Wuthering Heights. -
Finished Crime and Punishment and once I got into it I agree it was not boring; I take back my previous statement. Right now I'm reading 1984 by George Orwell and I got to say it's really good.
-
Just finished Dorian Grays portrait by Oscar Wilde. Quite possibly the best book i have ever read, It alone gave birth to a gargantuan man-crush on Mr.Wilde. And im currently spending all my time looking up his short stories
-
Musicophilia. Psychology of Music.
-
-
I recently read the Bartimaeus Triology, they were awesome,at least in my opinion and whats the deal with Twilight, everyone I know is obsessed with it but I hate it?
-
The Shadow Over Innsmouth. Gold!
-
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen.
-
@Mr.:
The Catcher in The Rye by J.D. Salinger
This is my second time reading it. This time for a school project. I forgot how good it was.

Big Brother and the Thought Police are watching…
-
I'm reading The Great Gatsby for school and a bunch of Lovecraft works for fun.
-
I'm steadily and surely working my way through a big omnibus of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books. It's great fun so far.
-
re-reading all of 'robins hobbs' trilogies, i really recommend this to anyone…..
-
3001: The Final Odyssey. This is the last in the Space Odyssey tetrology. Focuses on Franky Poole, the astronaut that Hal killed in 2001, brought back to life by the technology of 3001, and so far he's being filled in on the ways of the future while exploring a massive system of Space Elevators. Interesting read so far, though the pop culture references of Star Trek and Jurrasic Park are a bit disarming.
-
A book about the executive power in the USA since 1930..@_@
-
Full Metal Alchemist
Vol.1 The Land of Sand
(its a Novel. Naruto has Viz novels too besides the manga) -

well there is always wheel of time by Robert Jordan. . .
Seeing we both liked farseer trilogy and liveship traders (which I am currently reading) I think that would be a good choice. It is 12 books or something though
BTW,
! Nighteyes dying really sucked! the third book of farseer was full of unhappiness. . . Robin Hobb is really so great :P

ah cheers for the advice
i know what you meant about the spoiler, its very dark but it sets up alot of the plot for the liveship trader series, i have to say that people like chade and the fool really make the series what they are, how far are you in the trilogies?
also what are the recommended books about?
-
it's kind of hard to explain but it digs it is european/asian based fantasy that digs into religion in a really interesting way. . . I really recommend it.
I'm half way through the mad ship right now, really, the liveship traders first book took me about 2 days, it's just so good I couldn't stop reading :PThis is what the wiki says anyway :
"The series draws on elements of European and Asian mythology, most notably the cyclical nature of time found in Hinduism and Buddhism and the concepts of balance, duality and a respect for nature found in Daoism. The series was also partly inspired by Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace.[3]
The series is notable for its length, its detailed imaginary world, its well-developed magic system and a large cast of characters. The eighth through eleventh books each reached #1 on the New York Times bestseller list. As of August 12th 2008 the series has sold over 44 million copies worldwide[4] and has spawned a computer game, roleplaying game and a soundtrack album. The television and film rights to the series have been optioned several times, most recently by Universal Studios." -

still waiting for the robert jordan books to arrive
-
I recently bought a couple collections of HP Lovecraft stories printed by Arkham House and am trying to get through them. Though I still need the third volume. HP Lovecraft is one of, if not, my favorite authors and imo one of the best horror writers out there.
-
After a quick trip to Gailman (Neverwhere, American Gods and Anansi Boys, great books alltogether :D ) I´m re-reading Terry Pratchett´s Carpe Jugulum for the "I know it inside out so why am I doing it again?"-th time.
If only he could finish Unseen Academicals slightly faster ^^
-
right now i'm reading terry pratchett's "witches abroad". fun reading.
-
question about pratchett though, is it nescesarry to start from book 1 when reading about discworld or can you step in at any point in the series???
