No I hate it because it doesn't make any sense. You can't have a 0th place of something. By placing something, it automatically counts as something, i.e. not zero.
Though if they're just code words like Mr.0 and not an actual position I don't mind because then they don't have to make sense per se.
It's me totally nitpicking but I hate it nonetheless.
Anyways onto the chapter, great chapter even if it was just exposition. Long awaited exposition though. We finally learn the plan of the bishokukai and what the birdmen are. It's very interesting and I'm loving every second of it~

This chapter led me to look up more info on cryptobiosis. Those water bears it mentions are made of some seriously tough stuff, surviving for a while at 1 degree above absolute 0 (though it really is impossible to actually survive at absolute zero as the translation suggests), and surviving radiation thats 1000 times stronger than would kill a human

The manga actually uses some clarifying Japanese word that meant "dry sleep" which corresponded to the word "cryptobiosis" in the wikipedia articles. Unlike with Autophagy and most other weird scientific terms where they use the actual term. But that's definitely what it means.
Speaking of which, if you don't believe there's "such a thing as 0th", check this:

But seriously. When there are x number of things, and it turns out there's a 0th one or an x+1 one, that's just like the hidden secret one.
But in Bleach, Yammy was completely made to look like the weakest, and already had a number. If there was a secret #0 Espada, it would've been better.

I think there are too many strong people on the good guy side.
In my opinion, all staff from 0th biotope along with Ichiryu, Shigematsu, Rei, 4 kings, etc. can form the godlike team and easily destroy the Bishoku-kai.

Crazy chapter. Todays has been a good day for me and manga. Did anyone else think this chapter made Toriko feel like it might be a much shorter series then before thought? I wonder if it will end before One Piece.

The theory is that the Nitros didn't see Toriko and, especially not, Komatsu as threats…I suppose.

Nitro…silly name for the "birdmen" but somehow it makes sense with what we've seen.
A lot of stuff revealed this time making me think that the series won't be that long but...of course, much more can always be revealed considering how other manga that seem like they're "almost over" can add tons that make it keep going.

Quite a chapter, I say. I liked it. I chuckled when the "who said the Biotopes go from 1 to 8 ?" happened, funny parallel, but this time it was logical.
I just understood, how Acacia and his students live for so long - body gets old when cells become weaker and fission gets slower. But with regenerative trait of Gourmet cells they can continue to divide at a steady pace with the same qualities for much longer than average life. Suddenly, the age of President and all others is no longer crazy bullshit.
And I just heard on TV a film about lake-life. And there were diving beetles, and it was said that they have two pair of eyes - for underwater and over water vision. That's crazy. I want to see that copied by someones Cells in the future. -

Looks like we finally got a good explanation on our birdy fellows, if i had to take a guess that other Nitro will show up and be utterly defeated to show off a someones (Rapp?) strength.
Tjinn don't forget if Zebura and maybe Sani and Coco join Toriko in his journeys in the gourmet worlds he may help them in they'r full courses as well so i'd say there's plenty of oppurtunities to make arcs.

He's done that before. Back with the Pit Organs Shimabukuro talked about snakes. Probably a few other places… I think those spikes of ice that go flying at people in the arctic had a similar explanation.
Some stuff around the Rainbow Fruit and Troll Kong thing talked about intimidation and subconscious reactions.

I really like "GUTS GUTS!!". I would like to buy the single for myself but I'm already spending too much money as it is. I'm definitely gonna buy the OST when that hits stores. If I see the "GUTS GUTS!!" single at my local import store and it doesn't cost that much then I might pick it up.

Jump is pushing the hell out of Toriko. Naruto is closing down and Bleach is withering. They need a new series to carry some weight and they are putting their stock in Toriko. A fine choice I might add.
