Did they record the Skypiea in two formats when they did it. (meaning the tv edit, and the dvd Uncut format)

So wondering is when those come out, if they ever do, are they gonna be like episodes of the voice actors first attempts at the character. Cause be weird sounding I woudl think. Cuase voice actors usually get better and change it a bit throughout the series and then bam we go back to square one for a few dvds

This is addressed on the episode 17 audio commentary, if in a joking manner. They basically said "We give it our best to be consistant while also doing our best," although I'm sure you'll understand it best when you listen to the commentary.

I dont think they're gonna rerecord the lines when they reach that point on dvd. that's the whole point of recording the "uncut" the first time around, which they already did.

Like Ao Kiji said, it's basically all set. They recorded both versions at the same time, like one version of a line right after the other. It's possible they'll touch some lines up when they get back there, but it's as-is for the most part.

FUNimation is located in Flower Mound. A DFW suburb. Before Nov 07 they were in North Richland Hills, another DFW suburb. They were uneffected by the hurricane. I am not sure, but I believe they started a little after skypiea started airing on CN

Technically, the Uncut SHOULD be around Aokiji at the earliest. So they could skip straight into Water 7 after the Alabasta-fillers.

For the early episodes from what we know they should be aleast at the end of Drum Island/Early Alabasta. And for the Skypiea episodes and up, my guess somewhere in the Davey Back Fights or the Dragon Dream/Foxy Return filler.

I'm thinking they actually stopped the production of the later episodes at 206 to work on the 4Kids episodes.
