Yes, this thread is almost a year old. However, the game has been out in the US for over one month. Unfortunately, with games like Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Uncharted 2, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii, PSZ has been lost in the shuffle.
It took me a while, but I've managed to snag the game. Anyone who's a fan of the original PSO and doesn't mind the graphical hit the game takes when playing on the DS will find much to enjoy with this portable PSO-lite. There's a lot of things that have remained the same, the constant need for another run to get a better item, the timed button pressing for combos, and feeding mags to make them uber. There are also some different things too, like gunblades (replacing Shotguns; sorry Rangers) and shields for new weapons, each weapon having a special attack (Photon Art), an entertaining single player offline mode, a dodge ability (which takes up a palette spot), and more. There are also some disappointing aspects as well. You can't move when you access the menu, you can't cast techniques unless they're on the action palette (sorry Forces), and you constantly have to baby the camera so you can see what you're hitting or what's about to attack you.
I've put in about a dozen hours into the game already with my main, and just a couple of hours on my other two characters. PSO addiction is back, and being portable makes it that much better. Just wondering if anyone else happens to have the game? I haven't been able to go online yet since the DS Lite doesn't like WPA/WPA2 (apparently, the DSi can). So until I get my USB WiFi Connect, no friend code yet.
